I have gone through about 3 different printers, I have had issues with connectivity, the ink being too expensive and having to change frequently and the last one the paper kept jamming up. A representative recommended this one to me because his wife is a teacher and prints a lot and I have had 0 complaints! And it is very affordable.

Minor issue: occasionally when the printer is in sleep mode it doesn't wake up when I send a print job, so I have to manually press the power button for my laptop to connect and print.

Chrome not compatible

No where does it state that anywhere in this description and that’s a pretty big deal when you have a college kid using chrome. Called brother and they confirmed it can’t be hooked up with chrome. Then he said I should have known that cause brother released a press statement in December 2020. Yea cause I watch for all press statements from all companies. Get that crap out of here.

Poor quality prints

Thought I could get by with this, but I've been very unhappy with it. If you want to print anything other than plain black text, I would not recommend this printer. The quality is poor and not crisp, like I'm used to with my laserjet. Everything on it feels cheap. Also, the set up was not intuitive and connectivity with my phone and computer is not consistent.

Don't bother

Will not connect to the wifi, software files won't decompress to install, there's no clear way to determine what is wrong. I've spend over 8 hours trying to get this to connect. Every other wi-fi connectable device in my house connects to my network without problems. My network isn't the problem, this printer is.

Couldn't get it to connect to my network no matter how I interpreted the directions. Then I walked away for a few minutes and BOOM! Connected solidly to my network, and flawless printing ever since from every computer in my house and all of our mobile devices. I look forward to many years of reliability with this machine!

Do Not Purchase a Brother Printer!

I spoke to 3 support associates from Brother and their “specialist”told me my new MacBook Pro was corrupted and that is why it wouldn’t connect! I wouldn’t recommend Brother printers to anyone! Support was terrible. I took it back and purchased a Cannon printer and it connected in minutes.
