I’ve always had great success with Brother toner printers. This inkjet printer may be good for those that print on a regular basis. For us that print occasionally, it is a waste of money. I purchased my first one and got 6 pages of printing. I took it back within a few months and got a replacement under warranty. The replacement printed 6 pages and the next time I went to print the ink was dried up 100%. This is unacceptable!! The 6 prints that I was able to get were crisp and clear and quickly printed. I will not replace this printer and even with the inconvenience I will lad my projects on a thumb drive and take them to my local printer.

2 stars cause this will not connect via wireless on a chrome OS. No where does it state that anywhere in this description and that’s a pretty big deal when you have a college kid using chrome. Called brother and they confirmed it can’t be hooked up with chrome. Then he said I should have known that cause brother released a press statement in December 2020. Yea cause I watch for all press statements from all companies. Get that crap out of here.

    Poor quality prints

Needed a printer in a pinch when my HP laserjet died. Thought I could get by with this, but I've been very unhappy with it. If you want to print anything other than plain black text, I would not recommend this printer. The quality is poor and not crisp, like I'm used to with my laserjet. Everything on it feels cheap. Also, the set up was not intuitive and connectivity with my phone and computer is not consistent.

Inexpensive and prints well. The main problems I've had with this is I haven't been able to setup the wifi and there is a bunch of software you have to install on your computer to use it.

I think this printer is probably pretty good, but my reason for the low rating is the setup. I’m not a tech-savvy person, so I can’t understand why it has to be so difficult to get working with my desktop computer. Too much reliance on the internet. I don’t even have internet service in my home, and don’t plan on having it. It should sync up easily and quickly. Even getting it working with my iPhone is more trouble than it should be. Never should have done away with software.

There two reason I have given fair rating to this product : A - There is no proper instruction to setup this computer on network ( wifi ) which can make some people to hop back to store to return this product. B - While purchasing I saw there is year long ink free ; in fact I only got a month long free ink for printer. Overall the product is better, awesome to use - better than HP

Frustrating First Experience with Brother Products

We actually bought two. One was returned because it wouldn't work. Wouldn't sense that ink tanks were installed even after many re-trys. The other set up easily and is okay for a very basic printer. No automatic feeder makes double-sided copying cumbersome. Best Buys does not really support printers, according to our sales person, so all we could do was return it. And, with no support we could have bought it much closer to home, saving money and time.

My Brother Printers have always performed well for me...when my last one quit working, after reading reviews I decided on this one. I couldn't even get this one set set up. Returned it the next day. Opted for a Epson Eco Tank ET-4800... Set up was simple and intuitive. Evidently something brother needs to work on.

It is cheaply made. Does the job but it's slow. It didn't cost much. You get what you pay for. Also, the last ink I bought only lasted for 20 pages. That was upsetting.
