    Disappointment

I should have returned it in the first 30 days. Print quality is poor, just not as crisp and bold as my old Epson. When printing pictures it seems to make no difference in quality when selecting best mode, but does take considerably more time. The rear document feeder is awkward, and as I knew before I bought it, only takes one sheet at a time. Can only load multiple envelopes in the top #1 tray, and there are paper type limitations for the #2 tray. Odd size envelopes print in a different orientation than others; seemed to be a surprise every time, so I have to try one just to see how it prints before getting the final print. Other issues just seem quirky to me. The final straw was today when I tried to feed a 4X6 photo page in the single document feeder from the back and it jammed. This "printer" (and I use the term loosely) managed to keep the 4X6 page somewhere in its bowels and absolutely no panel that can be opened will expose the paper that is stuck. The troubleshooting guide was of NO help. I called the 800 number and they politely walked through the exact same procedures, then ordered a re-certified replacement under warranty. After I hung up, I turned the printer upside down (definitely NOT in the troubleshooting guide) and was able to find & remove the troublesome 4X6 picture. It works again. I called back and cancelled the replacement. One cool feature is the single pass double sided scan on the ADF. This will be another throw-away printer when something else goes wrong after the warranty is up. Not happy.

    Printer with no scaling

I have a MFC J6920DW printer using Adobe X and Windows 7 -64. The new driver is no longer compatible with Adobe and will no longer print to a scale. My previous machine MFC 6490 CW work perfectly prior to changing printers. Brother's tech support position is it is an Adobe Acrobat problem and will not repair their new driver even though their old driver worked fine. So scaling using Adobe acrobat will not work in this product.

BEST PRINTER EVER. sorts 11x17 and 8.5x11 automatically without having the need for us to change paper trays. As a designer for small personal company. This works perfectly for us.

    Huge Disappointment

It quit two weeks after the warranty ran out, and I live 50 miles from nowhere and there isn't a service technician near here who could diagnose and fix it. It would probably cost more to fix than it would be to buy a new, which seems to be the predominant business model now. Apparently this is a common problem, and I would not recommend this to anyone.

    Select a different printer

If you're just looking to print a standard letter size document every time from just one paper drawer, you should be fine. If you plan on printing envelopes, business cards, or to access the second paper drawer, etc., then you'll be extremely disappointed. If a page gets jammed, you will need about 15 minutes to get this corrected. The printer requires that you open every possible door that it has and you will still fight with it. Worst printer I've owned in 20 years. JUNK!
