I really like the convenience and quality of Geek Squad. I know that if I bring my computer to Geek Squad, they will usually figure out the problem right away and tell me how to fix the problem. I have a Geek Squad computer service account, which i have had for years, but I wanted my computer backed up before doing some serious work on one computer. The computer service program does not pay for computer back up, so I asked them to back up for around $100, which was a reasoable price for the service. My other alternatives would have been to do it myself, take it someplace else, or upgraded to the $200/y service that included a backup. This seemed like a very reasonable alternative at the time.

Entire process was painless: I was able to make the same day appointment and the transfer was done early. I was able to pick it up without any wait when early for my appointment. Data was set up in my new computer just like my previous old one! Perfect!

The guys that I worked with at the Geek squad were knowledgeable, explained everything in detail so easy understanding. Very good at keeping me updated on what was going on with my laptop and the process.

at first I thought the $100. fee for data transfer was a little pricey, but im an old, not tech savvy lady and knew I couldn't do it myself. THEN I got this PC home. I was amazed! They were able to restore files that I thought I had lost forever, including a particular playlist that even after 2 hours on the phone, Apple couldn't help me find. That alone was worth the money as there were irreplaceable recordings of my son and my dad on that playlist and these guys found them!! and they gave me my old harddrive back and assured me that everything was still on there. everything was quick and easy. Cannot say enough about this service. they were polite, informative and did everything and more that they promised

The back up on my computer was done quicker than i expected.

This is the first time I have used Geek Squad. I had an older Lenovo which I loved until last year. I knew it was struggling. The Geek squad was able to secure and transfer the photos that were on it and other documents and load windows. They were great when I went to the store to pick up the newly loaded Lenovo machine. They reviewed the basic items I had purchased, reviewed the basic machine helped me set passwords and patience while I wrote notes. They also offered suggestions and reminded me that the laptop had touchscreen capability so when I was having trouble (hands shake) I could move easily with a finger applied to the screen!! I hope to make an appointment to leave my old computer with the old hard drive hopefully to find more files that the company I had hired previously really messed up. For timing on the work, it was over a holiday, but I didn't really have to wait about 2 days total. They also helped explain information concerning my television, I know they are a good resource. I am happy that I called them will do so again, and will recommend them to others.

It was very quick and easy. I dropped my computer off one day and it was ready in less than 24 hours.

I've lost things in the past when having to replace a dead computer. (Sometimes EVERYTHING. Including pictures that could NOT be replaced.) So last year, my husband bought me an external hard drive for Christmas. (Yes, it WAS a good gift! It's what I wanted! Leave him alone!) Anyway, rather than having to deal with trying to transfer everything there over, and trying to figure out if there were things I needed on the old computer that were not on the external drive, I had Best Buy do a Data Transfer. Sure, there are some things I still have to hunt for in that file, to move to a more accessible area on the new computer. But the point is - it's THERE to be accessed! As a result, I was not the raving Banshee that I have been at some times in the past. Again, I say Phew!

Went to the Crystal Lake location because my laptop was not acting as it should. I was told I needed a new hard drive. I had them but in a new hard drive, back up the data on an external drive and reload my computer to factory settings. When I get home with my laptop and went on the internet all these ads would start flashing. Never have I had an issue with that. Took it to the Best Buy in Deer Park and was told they found 6 viruses on my computer. The cd drive no longer works and now I am unable to load any of my programs on it. I think it is very expensive for the back up. Since I have the back up now I will do it myself and would not use Best Buy again for this type of service.

Purchased a new computer and had the Hagerstown Geek Squad move my old information to the new computer. They were efficient and thorough. I had an issue with Windows Live Mail folders and they fixed it right away. Very satisfied with their efforts and service.

They did a great job backing everything up also all my photos. Only downside of it was the $100 to do it. Could be a little cheaper especially when I was purchasing another computer that day .

Geek Squad did a great job transferring all the files from my old HP to my new VivoBook. Took less than 24 hours. Very pleased with the service.

My data transfer went well but the person who checked out the computer to me to review opened up the wrong section on the computer so it looked like not everything had transferred and he wasn't sure as he didn't work on it. I brought it home and was quite distressed when items that I was told would transfer like photo files, music folders, etc did not migrate, I called and the tech I spoke too said I would have to bring it back, once I did I was set up with Alex who did the work and he immediately knew what the issue was and took care of me. This could have been avoided if the computer is turned over to the customer by the actual person who worked on it.

Geel squad was fast, efficient and very friendly. they answered all my questions promptly and were able to transfer my data and store it on the portable hard drive. great customer service.

Not being adept at transferring file/data from an old MacBook to a new one, this service was invaluable for me. However, I thought the price for this service was a bit steep.

Transfer of data is great and the basic cost is generally fine. However, what they don't tell you is that when you return, be prepared to bring your own jump drive (make sure its big enough to hold your data). Otherwise, they will force you to purchase a drive even though you just paid almost $100 for the transfer (which means they stick the drive in the computer and walk away). Of course, this is separate from the protection plan which is already $139-$169. I used to love BB, but I have become so incredibly discouraged with their customer service and hidden costs, and lack of following through on their own commitment.

Data transfer from a damaged laptop was performed, recovering all files. Very impressed by the efficient and timely service.

All my data was transferred from my old computer to new with no issues.
