The Dell S2421NX is a good 24" 1080p monitor with the features you would expect along with great image and video quality. Design It's a fairly basic and standard looking black monitor. The top and side bezels are not thick and the bottom one is fine, big enough for the Dell logo but not too big for me. There is and oval shaped hole in the neck of the stand for cable management that's simplistic but easy to work with and effective. There are two HDMI ports and one 1/8" stereo out port as well as a standard large three prong power cable connector. The monitor comes with one power cable and one HDMI cable. This has an In-Plane Switching, LCD. IPS displays are generally brighter than non-IPS displays and they also provide better viewing angles, so from the top, bottom, or sides the display looks more the same as it does straight on than it does on non-IPS displays. Display I think color and image quality in general is very good. It has blue-light reduction, which always scares me but when I look at photos on it they look excellent. It's the same with video. The color and general video quality looks great. The screen is also a bright and clear, as it should be, as well as evenly lit to the corners. Controls I like the onscreen display and how it works. There is a power button and there are four other buttons all in a line at the bottom right of the monitor. Touch any one of the four to get the on-screen display. After that it points to the button for each function. I found it easy to understand and work with. Features Besides having two HDMI ports that you can switch between, it also has auto-switching, the blue-light reduction I mentioned before, and AMD FreeSync which is to prevent tearing in video games - though this is not a "gaming" monitor. I did some testing of the auto-switching and it worked great. Plugging in system A displayed system A quickly, as it should. Then I connected system B at the same time and the display automatically switched to that. I disconnected system B and it switched back to system be automatically. The viewing angles are very good, as it should be since it's an IPS display. Other stats are fine and was they should be for what it is.

I love this monitor and like its modularity. It has a removal panel that allows you to attach it to a typical 4 point monitor arm if you choose or keep the attachment point hidden and blending in with the back of the monitor. Had it up and running in less than 5 mins.

The Dell S242INX 23.8" monitor is fantastic! The display is crystal clear with vibrant colors, and the slim bezels make it look sleek. Adjusting the angle is easy, and the connectivity options are convenient. It's a reliable and stylish monitor that exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended!

The Dell S2421NX is an all around good monitor for anyone looking for a multipurpose 1080p monitor. Featuring a 75Hz AMD FreeSync display with 4ms response time it makes a decent 1080 gaming monitor, the color and the contrast are also decent for an IPS monitor making it a decent choice for anyone who also needs a monitor for productivity. While it doesn't excel in any single area, it is decent for gaming and productivity, making it a good choice for anyone who needs a monitor that can be multipurpose. The fact that the monitor features dual HDMI ports makes it easy to switch between different devices and the monitor itself looks good with a fairly thin bezel and an overall nice design (in my opinion). The on screen menu is simple but features everything you need to adjust the monitor settings to your preference as well as featuring color adjustments so that you can get it to be more color accurate if needed for your workflow. The monitor stand is really my only complaint with this monitor, it only features 5 degree forward and 21 degree backward tilt adjustability, there is no other tilt options and the monitor cannot be rotated using the included stand. Fortunately this monitor is VESA compatible so you can mount it any way you want using a VESA stand.

The Dell S2421NX keeps the thin bezel that Dell monitors are known for. The casing is only around 2mm on the top and sides and the screen has a 4mm border on the top and sides. If you were using these in a multi-monitor setup there would be a minimal break between monitors. The controls are 4 menu buttons and a power button on the lower right edge of the monitor. Pressing any of the menu buttons brings up on screen hints which tell you which button does what before you are taken to a menu. This is a welcomed change from other monitors that make you hunt for the correct menu button. There are 7 color presets, Standard, Movie, FPS, RTS, RPG, Warm, Cool. The default Standard is skewed on the yellows so color accuracy is not the best. The FPS, RTS, and RPG presets seem out of place for a monitor that maxes out at 60Hz and doesn’t have the response times you would want in a PC gaming monitor. Dell seems to be marketing this monitor as one you can plug your gaming console and PC into, thus the 2 HDMI ports. The screen has good viewing angles but does lose some brightness when looking at the screen from a downward angle. The base is sturdy but does not have any height adjustment. The slot in the stand is just wide enough that the monitor end of the power cable can be routed through it along with the HDMI cables for cable management. The screen can be tilted forward and back for better viewing. This monitor would be perfect for word processing and spreadsheets. I just wouldn’t recommend it for any graphics work where color accuracy is critical or for serious gaming. It’s a solid 4 to 4.5, but not sure I can give it a 5. It’s good, but there are better. However at the current price point it’s a great buy for the average user looking for a good basic monitor. I would recommend it noting its limitations.

My previous Dell monitor starting flickering and I wanted to replace it with a similar size unit. The frame on this model is very small, allowing for more screen display size.

Beautiful color and graphics! Was super easy to set up. Should you need a monitor, this is a great choice. We set it up in vertical as second monitor and was way easier than most to mount and adjust.
