This remote is definitely worth the price! Equipped with RF capabilities, it can control your TV without being pointed at the receiver. This control also has an optional illuminated key pad to make it easier to see in the dark. It is made out of high quality materials, so it won't fall apart like the older model remotes that DirecTV used to provide. I highly recommend this remote.

Rf is best option so you don't need line of sight.

We decided to buy this remote since we were having our tv in our bedroom installed on the wall and also b/c the cable box was going to be installed behind the tv as well. Since the salesman told us that you don't have to point this remote directly at the tv this is the reason we bought it and we are happy with it so far.

I didn't even know this remote has a back light which just made me even happier when I actually read the labels. The buttons are so smooth and soft to push so unlike the DTV ones. This remote feels good and isn't so heavy. It's perfect!

This remote is excellent - it operates the DirecTV as well as the TV and since we have a couple of TVs that utilize DirecTV, purchasing this remote through Best Buy was a smarter financial move than buying it directly from DirecTV, we can have at least one remote in every room :)

I found this just a bit tricky to get set up because although it was supposed to be programmed for our Directv box, it wasn't so had to do this extra step. Also, setting up control of the TV using the on-screen method didn't seem to work. Had to program this based on the codes in the instruction manual. That said, once it was set up, it appears to be working great.

My dog decided to chew up my old remote, so I had to go buy another one. This one is better than what Directv gives you, it comes with a lighted keypad and RF signal.
