Electrical outlet hook up behind oven

Installation was not completed and was improper. That was the second attempt of installation. The senior technician did proof to us that the cabinet opening for the oven should be approximately 1/4" in order to fit the bottom trim. He did power on the unit. All packaging and all trims were not installated. We did the opening dimensions exactly the way it was listed on Kitchenaid installation manual, however it does not fit the oven unit. When I have the cabinet installers came out to raise the opening 1/4" higher, we have to pull the oven unit out. Here's what we found out how the unit was hooked up. The outlet plate was not screwed in properly. It's fire hazard. I have the 3rd installation scheduled to come out today. The cabinet fits perfectly this time and I hope the unit can be installed properly. Before the senior technician came out for the installation, I have already file my concerns with Best Buy under case #293530546 regarding the 1st attempt of installation. No follow up from Best Buy on my concerns at all.

Do you call this a professional installation?

I was not here when the installer put the oven in, and my wife was not sure what to do. This is not a professional installation when the new oven sits 7" lower than the old one and the installer leaves a 7" gap at the top right at eye level. I called the installer about an hour after he left and the guy was really nice but said he had to contact his manager about what to do and he would call me back. He didn't call back so I called the Best Buy 8XX number and got two nice people, who I believe were in India. At the very end of my 25 minute call I was cut off but managed to get another delivery date - which means we have to live with a hole in the wall another seven days, after already waiting 7 days for this professional install. Before being cut off I asked the agent to escalate to management after she suggested I go back to the store and try to wrangle an earlier time. We'll see how it goes. We signed up for the Best Buy Premium plan for enhanced support and free install but so far this ain't it. At a minimum the oven needs to be at the same elevation as the old one and a plate or spacer involved over the 7" gap, which needs to be at the bottom and not right at eye level. Let's see if someone there reads this, fixes the issue, and saves me another 25 minutes on the phone. Thanks!

THIS WAS HORRIBLE. The installer was VERY unprofessional, no uniform and dirty clothes. FIRST OF ALL... he PARKED ON MY GRASS! He kept telling me he worked for Best Buy... no, he is a contractor. He was very dirty. Second... I asked him to wear boot covers in the house and he said NO and he would not wear a mask because it was too hot out. He constantly complained, was very rude... he told me that he needed an additional $200 check BEFORE he would even start the install because he would need to cut the drywall to fit the 1 inch cord behind the oven and wall. He left his trash in my house... I even gave him a bottle of water to drink, which he left half drank and on the counter. He should not have been doing this alone, it took him way too long because he was so winded by every step. He sat on my small delivery box out in front of my house after bringing the empty dolley down one step (it is not made to support the weight of an adult). He kept telling me at the end about how he needed to get a 9 or 10 for his review... NO WAY EVER! (the geek squad came to remove the old appliance while he was there and they were very professional)

Damaged Cabinets and Double Ovens. Best Buy absent

Installer came and removed the old but didn't remove trim pieces. Jammed the new double oven in over the old trim pieces. This cause the ovens to not be flush and when they put in the screws it busted the wood of the cabinets. Notified Best Buy and they said I would have to work with XPO Logistics because they were the installer. So I have had to personally handle trying to coordinate XPO who has been to my house 5 times now as well as getting 2 different quotes to have the cabinets repaired. I know that Best Buy didn't do the install, but they vetted and hired the company that did. The fact that Best Buy washed their hands of any responsibility in fixing the damages is disheartening at the least. I doubt that I will ever purchase a large item like double ovens from Best Buy ever again, but if I do I will certainly not trust them with doing the installation.

The installation was started, and the opening needed a 1/4" more. The on-site installer said they couldn't do this work unless I paid an additional $150 in a check immediately or I could cut the hole. They didn't even have decent tools to do this installation. After they were gone I discovered the electrical installation was not installed correctly. I called Best Buy as soon as I saw this but was told that nothing was on the record as completed and to call back in a few days as they could not resolve the issue

It was horrible. They were 2 days late due to the technician not confirming the job or something. So I was one the phone forever trying to figure out what was going on. Then the day they actually came to install they were suppose to be there during the morning slot, but they didn’t make it until 7PM. And while they were installing he said the wire wasn’t long enough and he had to charge me more to go buy a box and labor to make it longer. On top of that they chipped my wall when they brought the oven in.

The oven is bent and warped where it should not be (a photo is attached). The installer says he sees a lot of these defects on oven/microwave combinations. I cannot get Best Buy to deliver a defect-free oven to me. I bought this oven over two months ago, and I don't yet have a defect-free one installed in my house.

Damaged my front door and now trying not to compensate me for it. Also product was defective. Didn’t check to see if was working properly. Best Buy is hiring third party companies now and not standing behind their work or damage to new home.

1- Did not put on shoe cover till I insisted on bringing them from truck. Used their shoe cover inside & outside house. 2- Dropped wall oven door on floor while installing unit. No apology 3- They were arrogant, did not explain new oven functions. Just dropped papers & asked for signature & were gone.

Would give zero if possible. Never dealing with Best Buy again. Had a fantastic install in June of a washer/dryer, figured they would be trustworthy. Bad me. Ordered a GE double oven 12/5, $3500 purchase, confirmed install "noon to 8pm" 12/7. Came and went with no install. Have called 10+ times since then. Everytime I call they claim it's stuck in an "in-transit" status and they can't do anything. But no one will clear the status. Worst appliance install company there is. Never doing business with Best Buy again. I get issues, but you have to have procedures to get people to do there job, apparently the Orlando warehouse that needs to clear the status just takes the month off. Horrible experience, never again.

I had a terrible experience with the installers. The first couple guys who came out and delivered the oven were supposed to install it. They took one look at the hole I'd prepared and said it wouldn't fit. The hole was prepared exactly to the specifications listed for the oven, and I told them that and showed them that with a measuring tape but they claimed the specs were wrong. They wouldn't even try, and even told me I needed to make the hole taller. These ovens have an adjustable height with a tolerance of several inches. There's no universe where the height could even possibly be an issue. It's pretty clear to me they simply did not want to bother installing such a heavy oven despite being contracted to do so, and they just left the oven in the middle of my garage and said I'd need to reschedule. I rescheduled, but the soonest available time was more than a week out, leaving me with no oven for over a week (I had to remove the old one in preparation for what was supposed to be a quick and easy install). Of course the new installers get the thing put in no problem in less than 30 minutes. Very, very displeased. Got the runaround on the phone when trying to get this fixed - Best Buy gave me the number of the installer and said I could call them, the installer said they could only be scheduled by Best Buy. Wasted hours of my time. Very disappointed. The only silver lining at all is that the price is not terrible for a double oven installation, given that they are heavy enough that a lot of companies will not do them (I know, I called around). I expected Best Buy would make this right after I explained what happened, but they didn't care.

Poor Support for Faulty Installation (fire hazard)

I had $2,000 wall oven installed in my home by a Best Buy licensed professional in October of 2020. In May of 2021, just seven months later, a burned wire smell emanated from the oven, and it stopped producing heat. I contacted Frigidaire support since they cover their appliances for 12 months and they sent out a technician to assess the problem. They determined that it was installed incorrectly by Best Buy and was in fact a legitimate fire hazard and needed to be reinstalled correctly which, unfortunately for me, was not covered under Frigidaire's 12-month warranty. I was advised to contact Best Buy to have the installation corrected and, after waiting on hold for well over an hour, I was informed that their installation was only covered by warranty for three months, even though there are many situations where problems stemming from a faulty installation do not show up until much later. So Best Buy refused the opportunity to fix their mistake that literally could have burned my house down and, instead, simply offered me a 10% discount to help me pay for their second attempt to do the job correctly. I told them “No, thank you” and that if I was going to have to pay for their mistake that I would rather pay someone else rather than reward Best Buy for their poor installation, service and support. I know Best Buy will be just fine, but I will certainly never buy another appliance from them. I just wanted to share in case this experience helped anyone else make a decision.

Our wall oven was never installed. This is a service that we paid for through BestBuy and as of today 7/9/2021 oven is still not installed. Order in March schedule for delivery and installation May 17 no one came out or called. I had to reach out to Best Buy. They scheduled someone to come out 6/4. Installer(plumber) comes only to tell us we needed an electrician to install some wiring (consult did not tell us that) this service cost is $480. So after doing what was asked of us we informed them that we were ready for installation. Best Buy sent out another plumber that also couldn’t install the oven. Plumber turned my hot water tank off (not sure why??) come home to find my hot water tank is not working anymore.I text plumber no response. I had to call out another plumber to check out my tank cost me another $85 this is the worst buying experience I’ve ever had in my life

This review is for the 'purchase' of the re-installation date (4/17/2021). We originally purchased the Whirlpool oven on April 4th, it is 20 days later as of the writing of this review. Delivery guys were nice, but the day it was installed, it worked fine during the initial test. On the first attempt to use it as instructed to use (that same night), after 20 to 40 seconds it shows an error and just shuts off. I 'googled' the problem and it was obvious that its something that is over my ability without voiding a warranty. After calling and getting an appointment for a week later, due to unavailability on the service side, the installers inspected and determined the oven is defective. I was called before the installers left by the service company and assured I'd be called by Best Buy (on Friday) anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and 30 minutes. I did miss one call but no voicemail was left. It is Saturday (4/24/2021) and now we have no idea when we will have a functioning oven. This is a $3000+ oven purchased 20 days ago and the level of frustration with service and accountability is steadily rising. I am now going to call and find out what and when we can get some help. This might not be an issue if the Whirlpool product wasn't defective maybe?

I bought three appliances from Best Buy at the same time. The in-store experience was more then great. Cy, the salesman, was exceptional. His follow up was stellar and Best Buy is lucky to have him. However, the installation is a completely different story. I was doing a kitchen remodel and scheduled an installation date for all 3. The first guy came and ended up only installing the frig. He couldn't install the oven because he said that the 220 had to be relocated about 18" on the wall. He even made a mark on the wall as to where the 220 had to be moved to. I had my contractor move the 220 as advised. The 2nd scheduled installation appointment was a horrible experience. The guy had a total attitude and bottom line is that he just didn't want to do his job. He ended up only installing the cooktop. And by installing, what I mean is he just dropped it in and plugged it in. Because of his sloppy installation, the top drawer is catching on something, and is slow to open. It's a long story but let me just say that I was completely offended, and disrespected by this guy. I don't know if it's because I am a woman or he just doesn't like his job. Either way, it was a horrible experience. My 20 yr old son was home and even he was shocked at this guys attitude and lack of professionalism. I had to reschedule another installation date. I ended up canceling that because I just didn't feel safe to have another guy like him in my home, and the level of frustration was thru the roof. I also didn't want to take more time off of work. I ended up paying my contractor to install the dishwasher, and oven/microwave. Not only did I have to take off of work twice, I also had to pay my contractor more money to make up for Best Buys Team lack of professionalism. I did call Best Buy and talk to a very nice woman about the whole experience. She was very sympathetic and even offered some sort of compensation for the time off work, and for the poor service. But no one has contacted me from Best Buy. My advice is DO NOT use Best Buy's people for installation. Save yourself from some trouble and frustration.

This unit was one of 3 (wall oven, dishwasher and cooktop) that I purchased with installation provided by Best Buy. All were botched. Wall oven has a 1/8" to 1/4" gap at the top. The installation instructions clearly state that some shimming may be required, including to close any gaps. The trim piece at the bottom is stressed (they used some sort of pneumatic pillow device during install and doors are misaligned. Also, during one of the return visits, the screws holding the oven to the wall were removed and not replaced. A new oven has been ordered by BB to address the door misalignment, but I have serious reservations about having their 3rd party installers work on the replacement oven. After offering free installation with the purchase of a double wall oven by the Geek Squad, I was met at my door by two members that looked nothing like the Geek Squad they advertise. After 25 minutes of trying to find a way to charge me for the free installation, the installer finally told me that "free installation does not mean it is free". He then went on to say that since he doesn't work for Best Buy, he can charge me whatever he wants. With no real options presented to me, I consented to a small charge for installation. He then insisted I paid for it in cash, to which I refused. I finally gave him my credit card and they did minimal work to install the ovens at my house. After they left my house, I got an email that he had charged my credit card $350 for the "free" install. The worst part of it all is that Best Buy says its not their fault and I have to deal with the installer. 6 calls to the customer service center with each agent telling me that I got screwed and that someone would call me back. Guess what? No one called me back. The installer won't call me back, and after 6 weeks I am finally assigned to a Corporate Case Manager. Ovens were damaged during installation, but Best Buy won't take responsibility for that either since it is the installer's issue. Joke after joke with this company and no real customer service. No one willing to take responsibility, apologize for the way that we were treated, and then make amends to make the situation right. I'm just glad I didn't pay extra for the install that doesn't actually cover any installation of the ovens. At this point, I have given up on any real resolution and can only hope that other people don't make the same mistake that I did in purchasing and using the "Geek Squad" to install my ovens. If someone at Best Buy is listening, you can contact me at the email listed to resolve the issue.

I know there have been many delays for products and services during the pandemic. Still, to have an oven ordered in February, promised for delivery in April (which seemed excessively long) not to be delivered until June doesn't make for a happy customer. And, the reps sent out to assess the cabinet situation and prep for installation seemed woefully incapable of doing the job. They cited the wrong size for the cabinet opening needed though it was printed out on the info given to us by BB. And they came out without the tools needed to access the cabinet to take measurements. Now, we're finding the oven takes a very long time to heat up prior to cooking. Everything considered, including the limited selection of ovens at BB, I don't recommend buying from them.

This Thermador double wall oven was never installed, it is still sitting in my garage. The on site measuring appointment was worthless and the cabinet was not prepared correctly according to the installer on Dec. 15. I hired a contractor to prepare it the next day. They were supposed to come back again today a week later to install it and I haven't heard any word from Best Buy on it, very poor or non-existent communication from Best Buy when I call and text Total Tech and my sales representative that sold me this top end appliance. This was ordered in June 2021, it's now Dec. 22nd...the dishwasher install was completed on Dec 15th and it has been just fine. Just still no useable double wall oven. Don't purchase appliances from Best Buy! I paid for professional installation in June and am still waiting....
