    Aweful Electrolux service

We purchased about 10 months ago and everything worked fine for the first 6 months (nice oven and stove). Four months ago the LCD display numbers began disapearing from the touch screen display, last few months we had to guess at the cook temps. We called best buy service (who we like very much), and they said the unit was still under factory warranty and arranged an Electrolux service tech, he came out on 9-22 and said the unit needed a new main board, he came back on 10-29 to install, why did it take 6 weeks to install the new board and replace one burner, (which wouldn't light). He worked on the unit cursing all afternoon, then left at around 5 saying he had to order more parts and would let us know. It is now 11-4 and we have not heard a word (not one return on our many calls), the oven now does not work at all (he damaged it further), and the burner he replaced now lights with a two foot wide by 1 ft high flame when you turn it on (basically un-usable, but cooks really really fast). I called both Best Buy and Electrolux to complain, in the mean time we have no means to cook in the house. Worst service I have ever experienced

    We really love our stove!

I bought this oven about six months ago during our kitchen remodel to replace our 1979 Magic Chief. As you might imagine any stove made from 1985 on would have glowing reviews from this writer so I will try to be objective. I am the male counter-part in the household and have been cooking diligently since our remodel. The features I really like about the stove are the baking features. The touch pad and timers are very convenient. My kids love the favorites setting for items like pizza and tatter tots. One touch and the frozen food is ready to slide in. We went from all electric to duel fuel (gas top-electric oven). I believe this was really a wise choice, because I find that cooking with gas for me a little more intuitive, while baking with electric seems to be more consistent. On day one my 13 y/o daughter made a cake from scratch that was perfectly baked by everyone's standards. The stove burners are typically arranged with the hottest (largest) burner to the front right. The Pull racks for the stove are really an awesome feature. They are on rollers which makes checking the food easy. I would give the overall quality of the stove very good reviews. The thing weighs a ton!!! When we were looking for stoves, my wife liked the idea of not having to reach over the stove burners while cooking to adjust the burner and oven settings, a concept that seems perfectly logical. In comes the wave-touch controls, which by the way, to this point have performed flawlessly. However, it should be known upfront that any lid you remove off a pot will tend to dump its condensation right on the touch control panel. I can somewhat absent minded in the kitchen so I have yet to alter my habits to overcome this problem. In addition, food tends to spill on the panel when tasteing, stirring, etc... Heat from simmering pans seems to heat the metal around the touch panel-I hope this does not lead to issues in the future. Finally, if you can not stand streeks on glass, this panel will test the limits of your sanity when it comes to cleaning- food is greasy. Conclusion: The stove has one of the most beautiful designs in the market right now. It is easy to get great cooking results. I have not mentioned the convection feature nor the perfect turkey feature b/c I have yet to use them. If you are considering this stove (minus the expense), I don't think you will be disappointed.

    Horrible experience

The first Electrolux oven I bought had a bent frame. It took many attempts and service calls before Electrolux would agree to send a new one. Had the second one two months when I had a sweet potato leak onto the bottom liner. I followed the iinstructions and removed as much as I could,, and then turned on self cleaning. The self cleaning baked the stain into the liner and now I have huge stains on the oven. The Electrolux customer service tried to send a new liner 2 times. Each time it came damaged. Repair person does not know how to install it anyway and whereas the Electrolux service department says the oven should be replaced, the Customer service department says no that the damage is not covered under the warranty. It seems that you shouldn't cook anything in the oven and then use the self cleaning. If I hadn't done that, the oven would be fine.

I am an avid baker and cook, I did a lot of research before purchasing a stove, I owned a kitchenaid which was 18 years old! It worked well but there is definitely a big difference with this stove. For starters the look is very professional, it gives the kitchen a whole new look. It cooks very evenly and the large crates allow you to move your pots around. I love the ovens! The cakes come out very evenly baked, the sliding oven racks are a dream! They make it very easy to check on your food. The lower oven is great also, it is not only a warming drawer but it is good for casseroles and baked potatoes! The light inside the oven is a gradual fading light. I agree with the others about the touch panel on the top collecting food, but it is very easy to clean. I have owned it for about 3 weeks and I have only cleaned it with a warm wet cloth and it looks great. I am obessed with keeping it clean! We also purchased the microhood and it also works fabulous! It has lots of bells and whistles and in my opinion worth every penny. We had a great installer from the pinecrest store, Andy he was awesome!

    Great Range

We bought this range from Bestbuy online a few months ago to replace a 17 year old Magic Chef. This range is clearly pricy, however, it is well worth the price (if you can afford it.) We shopped around for a 30 inch gas slide in for several months and decided paying the extra couple of hundred dollars was worth it. Also, Electrolux does not allow any discounting. The delivery was smooth and the guys actually helped me move the old one to the garage. The range is very heavey but when it is installed it will be fine. I am the male person in the family and started cooking regularly a few years ago. I do a lot of Chinese cooking. I love the high power burners when I cook Chinese. The range has a super burner (18,000 BTU i think) which we do not use a lot. I used the next one which is 14,000 BTU for cooking in a wok and that is just perfect. I also like the small simmer burner. One big advantage of the top grills is that they are continuous and cover the entire top. This allows me to move pots around without the risk of spill and more importantly give ms extra working space. The oven is great as well. We used it during this past Thanksgiving for convection cooking. We cooked multiple dishes at the same time and the temprature control was just fine. We used the warming tray too and that was very helpful. The only concern is that the glass touch pad area gets dirty easily and collects food particles - but it is very easy to clean. I just wipe it off with a damp cloth. Overall, this is a very high quality range. Also, ours had a small scratch on the side and Bestbuy gave us 10% discount for it.

Having lived with electric stove for the past 7 years i decided to go with a dual fuel range giving me the opportunity to cook with gas. Purchased the electrolux from Best Buy. A quality stove with burners that accommodate your every need in terms of size and BTU's. The grate is excellent and accommodates every pot and pan etc. Oven is great especially the door which opens and stays wherever you place it. Quality and performance surround this appliance.
