Very easy to set up. Can also switch easily between PS3 and XBox. Going from XBox One to 360 is super easy.

This is a great product and it does what I want it to do however in order to be able to capture from HDMI you need to have a way to get around the HDCP encryption that is on the PS3 and PS4 which prevents capturing in HD as you can only use the component video output and that is INFERIOR to HDMI. I however have DEFEATED and bypassed the HDCP protection (because HDCP restrictions are LAME!!! Sorry Hollywood!!!) with a special device NOT sold at Best Buy and I can record anything from PS3, PS4 or even a DirecTv HD DVR in 720p, 1080i or 1080p using this device or my Hauppauge HD PVR 2 Plus which does capture the audio in 5.1 channel AC3 Dolby Digital.

I like the elgato, but I dont like how you have to have it pluged into your computer at all times in order to see video even whem you aren't recording. Other than that its a overall great product. Very good and crisp quality recordings.

Just what my 25 year old wanted for Christmas. He's thrilled that he can record and playback his games.

fantastic capture card for recording and streaming from almost any video game console, it takes in with multiple video output methods but only outputs to the tv through hdmi which is fine. if you want to record or stream console video games i cant reccomend this enough

it is a great out of the box piece of hardware and my son uses it all the time.

bought this so I could record gameplay. works great and can be used for PS3 unlike the new one.

Have had some minor hiccups with HD recording, where if I record a loading screen by accident at the start of PS4 gameplay, it only records loading screens. Other than that, HD recording is at a slick 720p quality, and component recording is flawless, and at a decent quality.

While the Elgato delivers great quality digital videos, editing is a bit difficult. Perfect for computer buffs with interest in video recording and editing, but I would not recommend this purchase for a novice user.

Liked the el gato easy to set up. Was quick to learn how to record and then upload video. Would recommend and actually have friends who bought on our recommendatioN

It was a Christmas gift. My son says it's great. So I guess he likes it.

This was easy to set up and has awesome quality video. I don't use the software for it, I use xsplit so I can't comment on that but the video and audio that is recorded is awesome !!!!!

My 10 year old son bought this with money he saved up to record his minecraft adventures. Easy software to use with the device but the editing portion of videos isn't that easy. Lots of wires make it a little clumsy but it def works well!

My son uses the product to capture live gaming to post on You Tube. Great picture quality.

El Gato works perfectly for game capture. User friendly, simple setup. This product came with multiple adapters for all types of capture including the PS3. Just have to download the software from their website.
