There's no way to adjust the camera portion, so if you door sets off on an angle under a covered porch, you can see part of the door frame from either left or the right. However, the door sets. The The fingerprint unlocked is awesome and very fast, but where you put the key in,that part is very flimsy. And I also notice, there's no backlight on this lock. At this price point man it's not worth it. I'll move this to my back door which is also a patio and I'll take the new lock one and replace the new lock I'm speaking about. I do like that products. I bought it for 13 of them the last 2 months and gifted 3 to friend.

    Automatic Lock needs an improvement

Smart lock with plenty of features but automatic lock is not the best. All you can do is programming the time and it will lock regardless the position of the door. Let’s say you are bringing groceries inside and need the door open, then the lock will try to lock the door but if it is in the open position you have to be careful and close the lock before closing the door. Other brands solve this issue adding a simple magnet sensor that allows to lock only when the door is in the lock position. Video alerts at the beginning were great but for some reason now is only recording when we open or close the door. I checked the settings and I didn’t find anything wrong. On the good side night vision and all the possibilities are amazing.

The best product I have had, I bought a second piece for the back door as well, the Total tech membership gave a free installation. The product itself is easy to set up and has improved the sense of security for my home as it gives video alerts of activity outside the door, video images are crystal clear. Finger print option is great feature. Was bit concerned about being able to fit is as we have an outer guard door as well but its so sleek that it fits in very well

INSTALLATION This is now the 3rd Eufy Smart Lock installed on my house. I have used smart locks from other manufacturers and keep coming back to Eufy as my go-to and recommended replacement smart lock. The Eufy Video Smart Lock combines the functions of their previous generation of smart lock with the addition of a doorbell. This was a great idea and a must-have solution for those with awkwardly placed doorbells. It also eliminates the need of homeowners needing to purchase 2 separate products, saving time, money, and installation hassles. For anyone contemplating buying a smart lock, but put off by the potential installation issues or troubles that may come with lock replacement, rest assured, Eufy has done a great job engineering the product. The lock is modular and is no different than replacing an ordinary keyed lock. Two screws for the dead bolt and a couple of screws for the lock assembly. The mounting bolts are even long enough to accommodate doors of different thicknesses. Aside from charging the included battery pack for several hours prior to, installation took less than 15 minutes. From start to finish, including a firmware update and product set-up with the app and fingerprint enrollment, took less than 30 minutes total. Excellent! EUFY APP The Eufy app has been through many revisions since its introduction and has continually been refined and updated. The app is easy to use and is quick to load and send notifications to your phone. I have the app installed on both an Android phone and an iPad and the feel and operation is consistent between either OS. The app is easy to use and simple to add new products, find recorded events, or even view live images from the device. That being said, the Eufy app is not without its faults. While it is quick to alert you to an event and easy to use and navigate, it often leaves you wanting when you get an alert. It is not uncommon to tap the View Event notification and there be nothing to see. While you can go to live view and it seems to work OK, it takes some time for the device to save the video and make it viewable for the owner. There are times when you view an event and you get audio, but no video. Granted the video is there, it just takes a couple of minutes to become accessible. It isn’t all the time, but it is often enough to be frustrating. This is something that could be squashed with a new app update. Older versions of the Eufy app worked more reliably than the newest versions. PERFORMANCE The best feature of this smart lock is the fingerprint scanner. Eufy stores fingerprints on an encrypted chip inside the lock itself. Fingerprint enrollment takes 8 – 10 separate scans of your desired finger and saves them to the lock. The Eufy lock reads a fingerprint in less than 3/10 of one second. Nearly instantaneous. The Eufy fingerprint scanner is much more reliable than my Android phone. My Android phone will get confused if my finger is damp or dry with the changing of the seasons. Not so with the Eufy scanner. It works nearly flawlessly first time, every time. Once you enroll a print in the lock and identify the person it is assigned to, the Eufy will alert you by that person’s name when unlocked via fingerprint. It works slick! The included 10000mAh rechargeable battery has great life. All my locks get several months of use on a single charge. However, once the battery does go bad, it goes bad quickly, lasting only a couple of days at most. On top of that, the battery packs are extremely hard to come by. I have been looking for a replacement battery for one of my older Eufy locks (same battery used in this device) and have been unable to order one for several months. I can’t even find a knock-off to replace it with. ISSUES There are only 2 issues with this lock that I can think of: Eufy has done an excellent job at updating its products and software over the years. But, their Eufy app needs some additional bug squashing. The View Event / Live View bug is frustrating. Not only does it plague this lock, it plagues my other Eufy products too. So, it isn’t specific to the lock itself. It is a software-based issue. Second, while not a knock against Eufy, is peoples’ expectations of a separate doorbell from the lock itself. Few people think to look at the lock for the doorbell. Some do, but you can watch most people look next to your door for the doorbell, not immediately see one and just wind-up knocking. Luckily, the Eufy motion detection algorithms are reliable, and the lock is already recording and alerting you to the person’s presence, but it is a downfall of an all-in-one product like this. Especially, if you have a multiple story house and cannot hear knocking at the front door from everywhere inside. CONCLUSIONS This is an excellent product. It is an excellent addition to the Eufy / Anker product offerings. Mechanically, my Eufy products have proven rugged, weather-proof, reliable and trouble free over time and I expect this lock to do the same. Images and video are clear and crisp even during the overnight hours. The Eufy algorithms work efficiently at differentiating between people in the background and people approaching your front door with minimal false alarms. The only thing keeping the Smart Video doorbell from receiving a 5-star rating is the Eufy app. It is time for the company to squash some bugs and get their app working more reliably. RECOMMENDED

Fantastic All-In-One Smart Lock And Video Doorbell

INTRO: The Eufy Security Video Smart Lock aims to be your one stop shop for front door security. Equipped with a doorbell, 2k video camera, pin pad deadbolt and fingerprint reader, it can help consolidate multiple devices at your front door and restrict your need to charge a separate battery operated doorbell and deadbolt system. UNBOXING: In the box, you have the front panel that exposes to the outside of your home, the deadbolt assembly with multiple strike plates, as well as an indoor WiFi bridge/chime as well as a 10,000mAh battery and 16GB SanDisk Edge microSD card for storage. Everything was organized neatly in the box, and if you’re familiar with installing a deadbolt, you will feel pretty at home with the installation procedure. SETUP: Setup was quite a breeze. You can perform the assembly either by following the instructions via the eufy Security app, the instruction manual, or just by general knowledge of how most deadbolts work. Once you’ve disassembled and removed your previous deadbolt assembly, it really does only take 15 minutes to install the new assembly. Once you’ve done that, you can follow the setup process on the eufy Security app which will have you install the WiFi Bridge and Chime and install the microSD card slot into the bridge. This microSD card will be used to store video footage. You’ll go through the process of connecting the WiFi Bridge and Chime as well as Video Smart Lock to your WiFi router, as well as calibrate the lock to your door frame. Honestly, the seemingly longest period of time of this setup process is really just being patient while the firmware updates. BUILD: After having set it up, I can say I think it’s overall a solid build that instills as much confidence as most standard locks. That being said, it certainly isn’t indestructible, but the emphasis of this lock is to create a balanced blend of convenience and security. You have your fingerprint sensor on top of the unit, and below that is the video camera followed by the digital pin pad and doorbell button with hidden key entry behind the doorbell button. One aspect that I like less is that it can be hard to see the digital pin pad in the dark, so I tend to brush my fingers across the smooth surface until the LEDs light up. Other locks have physical buttons, but this is all capacitive, so you can’t really “feel” where the buttons are in the dark. So if you’re vision impaired, you may want to lean on the fingerprint reader more often. I really like that there’s a USB-C port on the bottom of the lock as a backup measure so that you can use a battery bank to provide power to it if you ever find that the battery died. But Eufy did go the extra mile by providing a removable 10,000mAh rechargeable battery that can be charged via USB-C, so you should be able to get plenty of use between charges. And although I’m not sure of the use case just yet, there is also a reboot button on the bottom of the lock where the emergency USB-C port is. Allowing this button to be accessible from the outside could enable malicious actors to reboot the device which could interfere with the video recording. LOCK: The app provides plenty of options to customize and use your Video Smart Lock. You can set 4-8 digit passcodes for each person you want to grant access, as well as optionally register 1 or more fingerprints per person for even faster access. Do bear in mind that registering fingerprints must be done via the fingerprint reader on the lock as opposed to readers on your phone. So registering a fingerprint will require the person to be physically at the lock. When creating a passcode, you must manually provide a code (it doesn’t generate a code for you). And you can optionally create a schedule for a period of day which that code can be used, as well as which days of the week it is enabled. There are also other security mechanisms like Wrong-Try Protection to prevent someone from entering a wrong passcode too many times, and Scramble Passcode which allows you to enter random digits before or after your passcode to make it difficult for someone who might be trying to peek while you enter a passcode. Another feature I found convenient was the One-Touch Locking which allows you to lock the door by holding the check button on the lock. The alternative would be to enter your passcode, scan your fingerprint, or use the app to engage the lock. And of course, the ability to have a timer that auto locks is one of the most important features of any smart lock. You can set a timer of up to 3 minutes before it automatically locks. Do note that it will only start the countdown timer after it has detected that you have closed the door. So if you set it to a 1s timer, it will basically lock as soon as you close the door behind you—which may even be a preferable alternative to One-Touch Locking. And lastly, if you pull back the doorbell button, you will find the hidden key hole so that you can physically unlock the door in emergency situations. Overall, I found that the lock worked reliably and provided many convenient ways to lock and unlock my door. And I also appreciate the ability to customize that experience for the security needs of my home. DOORBELL & VIDEO: The Video Doorbell is also quite good. I have been using a eufy 2k Video Doorbell for over 2 years now and can say that it has suited my needs quite well, so when I realized I could consolidate my pin pad lock and video doorbell into a single package, I was quite excited to see how well it functioned. In terms of video quality, the footage I am seeing is quite good, overall. However, I do think that there is a clear opportunity to improve the dynamic range and auto exposure because bright white skies often end up causing significant overexposure. That being said, I haven’t yet found any footage where a bright outdoor environment caused someone’s face to be overexposed or unrecognizable. Even so, doorbell footage has been used to catch criminals and I think eufy should consider improving their image processing pipeline. The Night Vision mode is also quite good if you decide to leave your porch light off. In this case, I felt as though quality met my expectations and there weren’t any notable issues. The motion detection has decent customization options for setting distance-based sensitivity across different angles, and whether you want human detection or all motion detection. There’s also Loitering Detection which can sound your chime and automatically play a message if it detects someone has been lingering around too long. And there is also Leaving Detection if you want to be notified when someone is leaving. And lastly, you have the ability to set activity zones so that you can limit motion detection to a certain portion of the camera view. This is helpful if you want to ignore certain areas of the camera view that might trigger accidental motion events. One potential thing to consider before you purchase this Video Smart Lock is if you have a recessed door frame where there’s a side wall blocking part of the camera view. Since it attaches directly to your door, you won’t have any way to adjust angles. And when you open the door, the camera will go with it, so it will end up recording your wall or stop recording altogether. This makes it a bit less reliable compared to a separate video doorbell, and it has no other option than to be battery powered. CONCLUSION: Overall, I came away pretty happy with the solution eufy has put together. The Video Smart Lock does a good job at balancing convenience with security. And as someone who was already using a eufy smart lock and video doorbell, I think that combining the two into one product makes for a good overall experience with a few acceptable compromises. I personally did not find any glaring issues with the eufy Security Video Smart Lock and would certainly recommend it to anybody looking to improve their front door experience.

This Dead Bolt is Dead Solid

I work in law enforcement and I have installed a lot of security cameras, as well as viewed a lot of security footage in relation to crimes. Due to the nature of my work, security cameras are something that I geek out about. Eufy is not a new brand for me, however, a security camera in a dead bolt is a new one for me. First, you only SHOULD need basic hand tools and the Eufy Security App to complete the installation. However, I will warn you that the deadbolt is much longer than the existing deadbolt I was replacing. Although this is good for security, it may complicate your install a little bit. Other than that, the install is straight forward. Once you have downloaded the app and created an account, you will select the product that you are installing. The app will walk you through the installation with ease. If you have ever installed a normal deadbolt or a video doorbell, this installation will be a breeze. Once installed, the Eufy Security App is your friend. You will use it to set up users (pin codes, fingerprints, hours of allowed access, etc), as well as people detection zones and recorded video clips. Physical install took me maybe 15 minutes while programming three users took my approximately 10 minutes. After setup, all I can say is WOW. I am typically not a fan of wireless security cameras, especially battery powered cameras. However, this Eufy Smart Video Lock is making a strong case for me. The video is very clear, the people detection feature is spot on, and surprisingly the battery life is superb! Notifications after people detected or a door bell ring are nearly instantaneous. Voice transmission both ways is also very clear. From the video side, this product is a win! When it comes to the deadbolt function, this smart lock also excels. The fingerprint scanner works and works quickly. You also receive a notification when the door is unlocked and by which user. The buttons and product as a whole have a solid feel of quality as well. This makes controlling access to your property amazingly secure and simple. I am pretty sure that Eufy found a swiss army knife for home security here. If I had any complaints for this product, the first would be the price point. It is an expensive piece. However, it is a smart deadbolt and video doorbell built into one. If you price these two comparable products separately, you will be paying more than this Eufy product. However, be mindful that if you have a storm door, it may hinder the performance of this Video Smart Lock, at least on the video end. My second complaint would be ONVIF compatibility. This product does not have it. For most people, this will most likely be a non-issue. However ONVIF is a universal protocol that would allow you to implement this video doorbell into an existing camera system. This can be a great feature to add down the road as it would allow you to use one native application for your security needs if you entire ecosystem isn't already al Eufy. Overall, great job Eufy! This is a product that is going to take the security industry by storm and help homeowners feel secure in their homes!

    Eufy for Security

The Eufy umbrella of products has been a great addition to our home security and this lock is no different. We have enjoyed having it the past couple weeks. It was easy to install and setup. The build quality is great. It’s solid, heavy hardware. I was able to get it installed in 20 mins. The video quality is bright, crisp and clear. It also gives a wide angled view that’s great for seeing everything in the front of your property or wherever you place it. I appreciate the many features and settings that are available for this particular device in the app. I love that we are able to have customized messages for people lingering around the front door with their “Quick Response” option. You can use your own voice to record those messages as well. You can also scramble the code and use “wrong-try” password protection to further secure access to your home. My fave is “loitering reaction” feature. It has a message that is pre installed for you, or you can create your own for those pesky unwanted visitors. You’re able to set your detection distance, and activity zones just like their security cameras which alleviates false alarms and survey only your property. I love the easy accessibility this device provides. We are able to quickly unlock and lock our door with our fingerprint in seconds, which is a breeze in the morning when we need to walk our dog. No keys or going through the garage. We also have the option to type in our individual codes. I find that it’s best to tap the screen first before entering your passcode for two reasons. The first…if you tap where the digits are it lights up the area so you can clearly see the numbers. Second…if you begin to type the passcode sometimes it doesn’t recognize the first tap as the first number to your code but instead wakes up the screen, so you’ll be finished with your code but it may have missed the first digit because of that. Which can be frustrating for some older folks who aren’t keen to tech and gets frustrated with it easily. So the fingerprint option is great to alleviate that. The doorbell functions great. I get the notifications right away and we can audibly hear the tone indoors. I will say that I wish that this device connected to the base that we already have for their cameras. I don’t like having to have a separate chime/base for that. I think they have a new base coming out that may allow for that integration but it would be much better for Eufy to provide that option for those who have the base that works with their newer cameras as well. If something is wrong with the device or the battery dies you still have options to get in. You can use the hidden lock with the keys provided or you can charge the unit with a power bank for 5-10 mins to give it enough juice to operate. The same power banks you would use to charge your mobile phone. I dont have many complaints whatsoever and I highly recommend this to everyone.

Another great product from Eufy. I have used Eufy products for several years and have never been disappointed. Considering their quality, pricing, ease of use and no added subscription costs I highly recommend Nicely packaged and comes with everything you need to install/setup. Installing the smart lock could not have been easier. My existing lock matched perfectly to this device and as such switching out internal deadbolt was easy. I charged the detachable battery overnight before installing using USB-C connection. Then following directions, I installed outside half of door lock then inside half. I did need assistance to hold pieces together while I attached power cable and screwed everything together. Instructions indicate that base should be added 1st in app. It does not need to be hard wired to ethernet. as was the case with the “old” Base 2 I currently have. This allows it to be plugged in anywhere that has signal to your Wi-Fi – but it is also serves as the doorbells chime so need to consider that when placing. It also included 16GB micro-sd card (although it states that is not included) which can be upgraded, for storage of videos. I already had the Eufy app, so I just choose to add new device, bringing up a list to choose from. I initially selected the incorrect base (pictures are tiny and didn’t realize the front was different on my selection) so when I scanned QR code, on device, it gave me an error. I finally realized my mistake and selected correct base and it walked me thru setup. Once base was connected it was time to add the door lock. I scanned the QR code on back that generated another QR code on my phone which I scanned using the locks camera. It then walked me thru rest of setup. I had no issues synching units nor connecting to Wi-Fi. Smart lock is thoughtfully designed and seems sturdily built. Adding my thumbprint took only a minute as did adding the security code using keypad. It recognizes my thumbprint immediately to unlock/lock and using keypad is easy as well. Day and Night motion detection seems to be very good with very little lag starting recording – captures pretty much all the action. High def 4:3 aspect ratio 2K (2650 x 1920) videos with 160-degree field of view. You can setup an area for detection using drag lines to set. Using its AI you can set motion sensitivity and whether to use human or all motions. You can view live and/or record anytime using app and can save (download) recordings to phone. Having the detachable battery will make recharging very easy. Also, the outside portion of lock has an emergency USB-C power connection in case unit runs out of power and you are locked out. The app gives battery percentage of charge. I believe this uses Eufy’s standard 256-bit encrypted connection. App itself is one of the better ones I have used and found it easy to navigate in. It has extensive settings letting you manage sensitivity, length of recordings, quality of recordings, message alert style, etc. and has built in access for help. It is a little hard to see the lock in darkness of night but there are 2 red sensors that light up allowing you to determine exactly here the lock is. As you get closer the doorbell lights up with a ring around it and if you touch keypad area it lights up. Not sure if I don’t have something set correctly but fingerprint doesn’t light up but still easy enough to use. You can lock/unlock remotely as well. 1 year warranty. I am concerned about heat affecting the smart lock. I had an Eufy doorbell that I initially hard wired into existing doorbell that would “fail” when the sun hit it all day (live in desert and west facing front door with temps easily above 100). I had to move doorbell to other (more shaded) side of door for it to work continually. I hope that having the battery on the inside (air conditioned) that the smart lock will not be affected by the heat. Also, these devices cannot be synced using base 2 – you must use the provided base. New base has advantage of having a micro-sd slot and does not require an ethernet connection. I see in the app there is a new base 3 option that will connect to any of Eufys devices and allows for external hard drive up to 16TB – for an additional cost of course. Would have been nice to have that included. It seems you can only have 1 fingerprint and code “registered” at a time. I don’t believe there a computer application to work with Windows, etc. So, you have to use android or apple to access. Overall, another great product from Eufy and while this new smart lock is rather large, and heavy, it works as advertised and I highly recommend.

I have been an early adopter of Smart Home Technology and have had a number video doorbells and smart locks over the years with various levels of ease of operation and integration into my home. The Eufy Security Video Smart Lock started out as a very successful Kickstarter Campaign that is now available to the public for regular purchase. The most important thing to consider whenever looking at a smart lock is how compatible it is with your current door lock / hardware. The good news is with the Eufy Security Video Smart Lock if you have the traditional backset deadbolts (2 3/8 or 2 3/4) this system will work for you no problem. Included is the lock / camera / bell that is mounted on your door and a doorbell chime unit. The battery needs to be charged for about 6 hours before install so do this the night before your install if you can. The only tool you need is a Philips head screwdriver for this installation. Remove your existing lock and deadbolt and install the included Eufy deadbolt. Once this is installed, push the exterior assembly through your door lock hole making sure to thread the two wires underneath the deadbolt assembly. The interior assembly has the assembly itself and a back cover that is mounted to the door and bolted to the from assembly through the holes, connect the wires from the front to the interior assembly and secure to the back cover with three screws. Do not let this need for assembly intimidate you in the least, it is very easy and should take you no longer than 15 minutes tops. One thing to note, the finish on the Eufy Security Video Smart Lock has a flat black appearance, we had silver hardware on our door so in addition to the Eufy Security Video Smart Lock installation I took the opportunity to also install a new door knob to match. Next you need to install a Micro SD Card (for local video storage) in the Doorbell Chime Module that will act as a chime (customizable with different tones) and the bridge between your lock and your WiFi. Install the app on your smartphone and start setup. The chime is installed first then you link the doorbell unit to the chime. Install is quick and easy. The Eufy Security Video Smart Lock opens with a code or fingerprint and in case of emergency also has a key in the event of a power or internet outage etc Programming different codes and fingerprints for all family members is a breeze. The camera has AI and recognizes if people are at the door and the video quality is crystal clear. The lock is easy to lock with one touch when leaving the house and the fingerprint feature works flawlessly. The only issue I have (and its one that will be short lived) is there is no extra battery available as of yet. Eufy says the battery will last many months with “regular” use but I’m never regular and always want an extra on hand, I will feel more comfortable when I have an extra battery that I can swap out quickly once the one in the lock needs to be charged. As I mentioned at the beginning of the review, I have had many a smart lock and this one is the easiest to use and most importantly my kids and wife love the ease of use and operation, to me this is a best in class Smart Lock.

Eufy Smart lock is an amazing device with tons of setting features it offer, this came in right in time as I just bought a new house, first thing I sure dude was change the lock with Eufy Smart Lock, unboxing the device was setup nicely, I did charge the battery first before fully used the lock, I let the battery charge for the rest of the night while I went ahead and install the the main device itself, installing on the door was simple, everyone should be able to figure it out, ofcourse there’s manual on how to install it properly. the door bell chime is also included, the box will provide you with Micro SD but I went ahead and upgraded mine to 64GB got more space. one of the best part about this door bell is the ability to program your finger print. and i’ve been using this feature pretty much everyday, setting it up takes couple of seconds since it’s tryin yo detect different angles of your thumb, but you also have the pin section if you don’t want this feature, at the door bell button is a hidden physical key fob, the packages with with 2 keys I gave one to my fiancé. where this door bell truly shine is at the app itself. I think the amount of features it offers it’s fantastic I like how in the app I have the ability to create my own custom quick response message, it’s loaded with surveillance features, so you have. great amount of option of how you want this door camera to react to your preferences. an auto lock feature is included you have all the way to 3 min for an auto lock, or you can even have schedule auto lock. Eufy Door Camera is up to 2k picture quality that can be recorded, Im currently not have it set to that because 1080p on camera is more than enough, plus majority of the time you going to be watching this on your phone, plus is a much better battery saver going 1080p rather than 2k quality. when it comes to night vision my only complaint about his camera is that I don’t think it can capture enough, if you don’t have any light outside at all, the camera is literally pitch black, it will have a hard time capturing anything, i’ve notice this by getting my amazon delivered to me, and it had zero recording, it’s also because I forgot to turn on my front porch light, either way I think the night vision is weak, so right now i technically don’t use it, I keep my front door lights on just so I can make sure I get some recording if something is up while we are asleep. I share my Eufy Camera account to my fiancé. so another thing I dislike is that I can’t seem to find a way to add another user for fingerprints, and i’ve search it settings by settings, so looks like the fingerprint is only for one person, which is a huge disappointment, it’s an expensive device and can’t even do multiple fingerprints save settings, I was so excited to use it and just to find out that looks like it’s only me gonna be using this finger print sensor. if i’m wrong prove me wrong eufy coz I don’t see it. overall I like this doorbell camera a lot, it’s beautiful piece of hardware tons of features from eufy and also you can subscribe for security if you want that but it’s totally optional. maybe eufy can release some kind of update that will support for more user to use the finger print sensor, for now that’s pretty much the only wish I got, oh the night vision improve that as well if you can do it on software level

The last few months I have transitioning from having a traditional home security system to something that I have customized and pieced together to be more of what I was looking for. After some work I have it almost to what I wanted, at a fraction of the cost I was paying for the older system. One of the things that helped me tweak the system was this great Smart Lock from eufy. The video capabilities really helped me get the angel I needed for from my front entrance. Let’s begin with the security aspects of this great device. First locking and unlocking can be handled in multiple ways. You have your traditional keypad entry, you can use the app on your phone, and you can use your fingerprint. You can register multiple users as well so that your family and those living with you have the same access. The included relay/chime box that’s included in the box will do a great job of extending the range of your existing router to make sure that the Smart Lock is able to get a solid connection to the network. I have never had issues with connectivity and the chime is loud as well. The other part of this is the video portion. Video quality is great and can identify when there is a person in the view. My previous front camera would send notifications when ever the trees would move in the front yard, or a shadow would shift. It was so annoying that we ended up disabling most notifications except for when the doorbell was pressed. No such issue with this one. You can tweak the sensitivity and what it will notify you about, and I have yet to get false notifications for shadows or branches moving. Video quality is great in daytime, but also has a great night mode that allows you to see clearly. I will say that the only thing I was a little bummed about was the kind of tight vertical viewing. If someone sets a package at the base of my door, I am not able to see it. It missed maybe the first foot near my door. Honestly, that’s my only complaint. You can still see someone walking up with a box, and this has happened, but I would assume you can still see someone walk off with your package. The installation process was very easy. The app will walk you through it, but I wish I had installed the app prior to starting the installation process. As it was the installation took a little under 30 minutes, but if I had installed the app first then that might’ve been even shorter. You are essentially just replacing the deadbolt on your front door. I was replacing another smart lock from a traditional security company, so it was just a matter of removing that one and sliding this one into place. Fairly straightforward and fast to get the entire process done. If you are like me and moving from another security company to something more to your liking, or if you are just starting your smart home security journey then this is a great keystone part of that setup. Great quality video, great notifications, and easy installation. This is an easy recommendation.
