I purchased this model because it was the one closest to the GE Profile that I had. Instead of the usual harmonious hum, there is an annoying high pitched whine while operating. The freezer section goes into defrost very often allowing the temperature to exceed 10 degrees. I will be calling GE to schedule a technician to come look it over.

I ordered this for two main reasons; 1) it fit the space I had available, and 2) it was GE, and would match my other appliances. I have to say, now that I have it, it makes the other appliances look second rate it's so beautiful. Weird thing to say about a fridge? Maybe. Doors close by themselves with a reassuring "thunk." Shelves on the fridge door can be moved around. The crisper drawers are huge. The freezer is large and well lit. The handles are so gorgeous--I just can't say enough for the looks of this fridge. I was shocked to learn that the strange sort of holes in the back of the upper corners of the fridge ceiling are normal--they appear unfinished. But other than that, this is a beautiful appliance. Note: a contractor told me if magnets stick to a "stainless" appliance, than it's not real stainless. Magnets do not stick to this, but they do stick to all of my other "stainless" appliances.
