Purchased and installed this into our new countertops, replacing an old solid burner cooktop. Bought this unit because of features and coordinating the look with our new oven unit (GE PT970SMSS). This unit looks great and cooks very well. Heats up very quickly. Like the power boil burner, and the hot surface light. Keeping this cooking surface and stainless trim clean is tough. Also, both surfaces seem to be easy to scratch. Nothing serious yet, but careful use and cleaning has resulted in a few fine scratches after only a couple weeks. Very nice cooktop that functions very well. We'll have to see how the aesthetic durability is.

When shopping for a new cooktop, I found one that I like equally as well that was less expensive, but unfortunately it needed a larger opening. I would have to probably pay $100 to get someone to cut my granite, so that limited my choices. I originally saw this one and really like it a lot due to its rapid boil feature and the ability to increase the burner size to accommodate a large sauce pan. It looks sharp and heats quite quickly. GE Profile series were highly recommended by friends as well. Only had it a couple of weeks, but so far so good!

I was looking for an ivory/white cooktop to fit in my kitchen counter and this looks stunning with my decor and has worked great. The installers did a wonderful job and had to expand the cut-out as my previous cook-top was a bit smaller. I'm happy with my purchase.

I ordered the white version of this cooktop and unfortunately, it's not perfectly white. It has watermark dots throughout which gives it a slight off-white appearance. I like the "no knob" design, but it takes a little getting used to. I thought you'd just place your finger on the spot you wanted to set a temperature, but insted you hold down a + or - button and it changes the temperature. Not as fast or intuitive as I expected, but works overall. It heats up very fast and gets hotter than the cooktop it replaced so I'm adjusting to the new burner settings (turned lower now). Overall, it's attractive and works well but for the price, I can't give it a 5-star rating. I chose this mainly because it replaced another Kitchen Aid smoothtop and needed to just drop it into an existing cutout without having to modify the opening. IMPORTANT! If you're trying to replace a cooktop, you'd better buy the same brand of cooktop you're replacing or you'll have to modify the opening. I learned that the hard way.

Ge makes good reliable products. No problems and no complaints.
