Love it! There's no denying that it's a big big, but it holds A LOT of ice, and the ice is nice and small ... not chips, but nuggets. As recommended, have been using distilled water, and the resulting product is clear and clean tasting. It's a bit of a process to sanitize which is recommended to be done every week although I have been doing it every month without buildup. It has quiet operation, and the digital displays are clear to read. It was absolutely a pricey purchase, but do consider it worth the money.

Took us a while to decide to purchase based on the price. It works as intended and makes great ice. But as i said in the title it’s quite loud. We have an open layout kitchen & living room and the thing hardly ever stops making noise. It’s an almost constant droning sound. Considering returning it and just going back to the old ice.

After about 6 months the ice maker stopped making ice. Ive read you must do a deeper cleaning like your Dentist lol. Besides the regular monthly cleaning you must un screw the maker and clean out the water reservoir which holds some very slimmy stuff. Once thats done screw back and you should have clean ice again. But if your like me i dont have time to operate on the machine. But refuse to purchase a new one. I need a quicker solution or a self cleaning system. Great ice tho

My wife loves this thing more than any other kitchen gadgets ive gotten both of us for years. It runs great and makes the perfect small ice we loved as kids and ate on years ago. Reminds us of Dairy Queen ice but better. Running strong so far and non stop.

I love this ice maker. Makes the perfect chewy ice. I will be purchasing the extra tank to hold more water. I agree it is noisy. Thankfully I have an adjacent office that I keep it in so it doesn't bother me. No way I could keep it in my kitchen.

This is an awesome little machine.. it does make amazing ice and also some quirky little noises but we have gotten used to the sound of it running and love it! It was a Christmas gift for my husband who loves his nugget ice and we all enjoy it now!

I have used other ice makers and had issues with them but this was great right out of the box. Super easy to set up and makes the 'good' ice!

I wanted a nugget Ice maker for a long time. When my little bullet ice maker finally died... we upgraded to this and I love it. It's a little putzy to clean but works great and i have fresh chewable ice all the time.

Somewhat finicky to keep operating. Ice is as specified. Very large form factor on the kitchen counter. Bought extended warranty due to negative reports on reliability.

Love this ice maker. The only complaint I have is that you can not attach a water line otherwise a great machine. Makes ice fast which is crucial in a large household. I would highly recommend buying the warranty.

I bought the new GE opal 2.0 after upgrading from the previous addition 1.0. The new model comes with Bluetooth connection and remote operation which I never thought I would use but I find using quite frequently to turn it off when I’m watching television or turning it on in the morning. The bin seems to be larger and more efficient and quieter. Five stars.

Very happy with this ice maker! I went through 2-3 others prior to this one replacing every 6-12. Works efficiently and always have my favorite ice on hand! All guests and family enjoy their drinks with this ice!

So far so good! This is the third nugget ice maker I have purchased. With each passing model, major upgrades have been made! I just hope this lasts long than the previous 2.

Machine works great making nugget ice and is stylish, Its louder than other cheaper icemakers, but not that bad. However, despite following required servicing and using the Opal cleaner, it failed within 15 months of use. Started leaking then overheating and stopped working all together. Well documented issues with this model apparently that GE has not addressed.

I have given this to my wife for Christmas, six days ago. We have produced ice nuggets everyday since. Like any refrigeration unit, it hums, but my wife has been addicted to nugget ice since her pregnancy with my son almost sixteen years ago. The machine is sleek and clean. The refill is under the drawer, so you do have to pull the entire ice drawer out to refill, but it's not difficult. The upgraded version is $100 extra if you want the extra refill unit that sits on the side of the unit. Since we use it for our family of four, what we got is more than enough for us. So far so good. If anything goes awry, I will be sure to post. But, I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I have had my ice maker for a month now. I bought it to replace a broken ice maker from another company. I love this ice maker, it is quiet, keeps the ice cold as long as the ice maker stays on. I don’t have the extra water tank and I fill the reservoir about every other day. My household uses this machine 24/7 and we love it. It is easy to clean and maintain. I do not regret buying this machine even though the cost was a little more than I wanted to spend.
