    We entertain a lot and our friends and family are super excited about this when they come over. Great build quality, very sleek looking as well. It’s expensive but if you entertain a lot it’s well worth it!

    This is the 2nd ice machine I’ve purchased. My 1st one lasted 2 years. This one i bought in December 2023 and it quit working March 2024. My life has been crazy due to my daughter passing away 2 months after her son was born, now raising a baby im in desperate need for ice. Should i take it to Best By or call someone? I know i should of returned it earlier but it was the last thing on my mind. On the other hand it worked fantastic for 3 months. I absolutely LOVE IT! I highly recommend it. Wasn’t noisy worked perfectly. My other one didn’t have WiFi. I would definitely recommend the one with WiFi. It will alert you when it needs to be cleaned, maintenance and what’s it’s doing at all times. Fits under standard cabinets. Definitely get the large water tank. Ive had both, this one is my favorite. I know it was pricey but id buy it again and again. I truly LOVE IT.

    This is 2nd Opal 2.0 ice maker after my first one died in less than a year. Thank goodness BESTBUY let me exchange it at the store. Don't get me wrong, i would not have gotten another one if i didn't like it. The Opal is probably the best counter top portable ice maker around, but saying this, they are not great by any means, not yet anyway. The design is beautiful, looks really nice on the counter top. It makes soft pellet ice fairly quickly. The downside is that it does need to be cleaned quite often, probably every 2 weeks, because it does get nasty pretty quick. Also, when the machine goes into defrosting mode, the machine starts to scream and can get very, very loud. If you do a cleaning, this will normality quiet the machine down. It's not difficult to clean, but it's not that easy either. It gets easier to do the more you do it.

    Love the nugget ice. Makes the best ice of all the buffet ice makers. Makes ice quickly and abundantly WHEN YOU GET ONE THAT WORKS. I have been through 4 of these in the last three years (3 opal and 1 insignia). They just don’t last. But they are worth the hassle for the nice they make This is a product that the extended warranty is a MUST HaVE. BB Total tech pays for itself on these things alone. I have replace 4 times at no cost with the total tech program.

    This ice machine is awesome! The ice is made so quickly and is such an easy system to maintain. With a monthly clean, this machine has definitely given us what we’ve paid for!

    This pellet ice machine works great when it does.l and I say that because I can’t confirm but believe the firmware update ruined my first one. My first one worked well until I put it on wifi and allowed a firmware update. My warranty replacement ice maker has not been added to wifi or done a firmware update and it’s working good. The warranty process works but they made me jump through the usual foreign call center hoops before I demanded a replacement since it was only 3 week old. So great ice maker, don’t do wifi it’s pointless anyway, who needs remote power off and on really. And stay away from the firmware update. Be prepared to have to warranty it.

    Great ice, but potential problem with ice maker.

    First, I genuinely love this ice maker, even with the issues I've had. I would recommend getting this ice maker, but I'd definitely have it replaced if you start seeing these issues. So, after about a week of use this ice maker began to just (seemingly) randomly stop making ice. After researching possible issues with this model, it turns out a known issue is the "switch" inside that detects whether the ice bucket is inserted can be faulty. For a few days we were able to get it to continue making ice by kind of lifting the bucket up once it was inserted but even that stopped working. What I don't understand is why the switch even exists. If I wanted to clean the bucket, I'd just turn the machine off first. Or, why there's no option in the app to override the switch or something. It just seems like such a useless part to essentially brick the whole ice maker.

    It does the job but wish it would make the ice a little quicker. I have a family of 4 and my kids are in sports. We use the ice to fill water bottles and on game days we tend to run out of ice quickly. Otherwise this is great!

    Great machine and great ice. Made god awful noise a couple days in like it was going to explode finally quit with the load gear grinding noise and get a loud noisy hum like the side panel is vibrating. Love this ice Machine for past year! Works great when working. Purchased and put in Service at the beginning of last year and now it keeps kicking out and going into defrost mode. Ran clean cycle and still no resolution so far. Only use bottled deerpark spring water. Clean frequently. This expensive machine should last and be trouble free for longer than a year-year and a half. Called customer support at 7:40pm. On hold for 20 mins no answer. They close at 8. Any suggestions or help? Would be a 5 star prefect review if it was problem free and support was available

      If the ice maker is going into defrost mode too often, it's highly likely that the air vents are blocked. Make sure there is a minimum of 3" clearance on the back and sides of the unit to ensure proper airflow. Check to ensure that the side tank is not blocking either of these vents. It should be pulled forward, in line with the front of the ice maker. If this doesn't help, calling our Opal Support team can provide the best assistance moving forward.
