    Great Computer..when it was working.

Purchased this computer brand-new to use for working from home. Was working great until after 40 days, I went to turn it on and received a "recovery error", stating "Your PC needs to be repaired. The boot configuration data file is missing required information", i.e; total crash. Had to take it in to GeekSquad and am now told it will be 5 days until they can fix.... I strongly advise against this product if you plan to use for professional use.

    A computer that surpasses expectation

I have had personal computers as long as they've been on the market, and none have surpassed my expectations as much as the HP - Pavilion TouchSmart 23" Touch-Screen All-In-One Computer. I had heard all the horror stories and read all the negative reviews about Windows 8 and have found them all to either be terribly exaggerated or, in some cases, absolutely untrue. Sure, there are issues. Not all applications I use are touch-screen enabled... yet. I didn't expect they would be. This is an evolving technology and not all programs port well. Yes, some apps, especially games, are prone to crashing. But then, when are they NOT prone to crashing? If anything, they've not crashed as often as I expected. Bottom line: I'm not yelling and screaming at my computer any more. I'm getting work done more quickly and more efficiently. My blood pressure is down. All this, for under $1,000. I am very pleased.

Looked at lot of different all in ones. This was definitely the best one under 1,000 dollars. I love how compact it all is and I love the large 23 inch screen. Windows 8 works so great on a touch screen. Overall I'm really happy with the purchase. One complaint if I had to find one is the keyboard that came with my computer never connected I had to get a different one. Not a problem since I wanted a different one.

    Great Desktop Replacement

This is a good blend of style and power. I love this style of desktop because there are no more wires to run from the tower to the monitor. This computer has 1 wire, the power wire. Everything else is wireless. This is a great option over using a laptop as a desktop because you get more hardware and performance for the money. The whole computer is the size of the monitor so it takes up little space. You can navigate windows 8 as a touch screen which is cool. I would love to be able to customize this model though. I would bump up the graphics card for some occasional gaming and make the CD-ROM a blue-ray unit. Otherwise performance is great for my everyday internet and Office use.

I was expecting more out of this computer in terms of speed. My Vista laptop and Windows 7 laptop actually start up faster than this one which I wasn't expecting. Granted, this one is an AMD processor so maybe Intel is faster. Windows 8.1 does work much better on a touchscreen than a mouse, so the bigger the touchscreen the better. The built in speaker isn't very good and sounds thin, but that's pretty common. It's weird not to have a tower, but the All in One keeps everything neat and compact which is great for saving space. I really don't like the long startup and user switching times. I believe there is a function to "enable fast user switching" but I have to find it. MS Office 2010 runs smooth and those type of applications run fine with no noticeable lag. I run Flight Simulator X Gold Deluxe and it does have to restart quite a bit (Windows 8 compatibility issue), but the graphics run and look fantastic. I have Cyberlink video editing software and it also seems to run ok. For heavy gaming and video editing this computer may not be that great, but for the average consumer who plays games and does home video editing, this computer performs well. My daughter is in first grade and also uses this computer for schoolwork and loves the FreshPaint app. So she gives it a thumbs up. Overall, the benefits and perks of this computer outweigh the negatives, so it was worth the purchase. I'm not a fan of Windows 8.1; IMHO Windows 7 is a better OS. However, this computer serves it's purpose as a good Windows 8.1 All in one. If you have to pay more than $700, you might want to shop around (Lenovo, Asus, Dell, etc), but if you find this on sale/clearance I would recommend it.

We bought this for our 15yo daughter out of desperation. She destroyed her laptop, and wasn't getting another one. It came out of the box, we plugged it in and it found our router and we were connected. The key is to make sure you do your own settings, still very simple and still extremely quick. If you don't though, they want every piece of you lol. Windows 8.1 is what it is. You just have to take the time with it. There're a lot of great apps loaded already, a lot of bloatware needs to be removed. For her purposes, school, the obvious teenage sites etc - it's perfect. She loves it. I DON'T like being forced into needing a Google/Microsoft account every time I try something simple (connecting wirelessly to the existing printer - I need the app?) unnecessary aggravation stuff getting around that. But I'm old, and XP minded so it's an adjustment from everything being plug & play. Pro's ridiculously easy to set up and use (remember - take 5 minutes, pay attention and do your own settings - this is for XP users lol) Con's you are forced into having a Microsoft/Google account at some point for things you're used to being very easy. Older diehards XP might not like that. I've had it a little over a month.

This computer does what I wanted it to as far as speed & programs. The touchscreen doesn't always work which is upsetting because it's awesome when it does. I wanted an all in one because I was so sick of looking at cords running all over my desk and it does look beautiful. I didn't want to pay a fortune for a new computer because with developing technology they get outdated so fast, this fit the bill at right around $500.

The 23" screen is beautiful. All-in-one is a great idea. Easier to remove wires. No CPU to bother with if the computer needs to be moved. It only weighs about 20 lbs. It came with a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse. Only downside is Windows 8.1. It's rather odd and takes a lot of experimenting to use a lot of the features. The touchscreen is somewhat useful, but the touch keyboard on the screen is not (bad angle for typing).

Over all computer is good for the price. Shipping was a little bit of a hassale but in the end it arived on time. The speakers are horrible though poor quality sounds so bad Have to use head set to even hear clearly. Windows 8 is a pain if u get the chain to down grade to 7 or lower do it. Too mamy bugs. But for the prices its okay.

Our home office computer was outdated, so we went to Best Buy to get a new one. Once I saw the HP 23" TouchSmart, I knew I wanted it. It's an all in one, so there is no bulky tower on your desk or by your feet. It was very easy to set up. It even came with a nice wireless mouse and keyboard combo. I use it for work, and my wife uses it for personal use. My 6 year old was amazed hat a screen that big was a touchscreen. She navigates it very easily. Overall, I highly recommend this computer to anyone who needs a nice home office or personal computer for every day use :)

Had this for about 3 months now and love it. Screen is nice and big. wireless keyboard and mouse. love the split screen feature. Takes a little while to figure everything out but that's what is good about it. There's so much to do on it. I like that its a touch screen so I can zoom in on a web page easier. Paid around 700 for it. Definitely a smart purchase.

Having been out of the tech marked fog a few years, I asked a few friends what computer would they purchase. Hands down, the touch screens were at the top of the list. A relative had purchased this identical computer and highly recommended it. Since it was a Hewlett Packard, I was sold. All but three of the computers I have had for home use were HP's. Two of the others were IBM's bought used at a big discount from my employer, the third was a COMPAQ that my husband bought for me as a gift. The IBM's were good computers, but I could never afforded them without a big discount. The COMPAQ was find until it simply died a year or 13 months after it's purchase. This new HP computer should last for a good number if years to come. At least 5 or more according to the Geek Squad Member that assisted me. Coming with the newest form of Windows, hopefully no additional updating, in the operating platform will be needed for some time. So far, I gave found the set-up easy to follow and have used the computer with no difficulties with the exception of the keyboard and mouse issue. I am sure this us an easy fix, I just need to take the time to troubleshoot it. I suspect the batteries need to be changed out, or the slip of paper that keeps the batteries from contacting the terminals has not been completely removed. If not, I know that Best Buy will stand behind this product and make it right.

I love the touch screen on this computer. Set up was easy. I am still learning all the things it has, however my 12 year old grand daughter seems to be doing just fine. If it came with a manuel with step by step instructions would be great. I would definitely recommend purchasing this computer.

We purchased this computer to replace an old mini tower. I love the all in one footprint as it takes up less space. The performance is great for the family. 8 GB of RAM supplies enough leverage to run basic office programs as well as the Adobe suite (for occasional freelance graphics work). The touchscreen is really cool, and the picture is crisp and vibrant. The price was good, too.

I would highly recommend this computer for anyone - from novice to expert - easy to set up and use - even for those die-hard XP fans. This computer did not have MS Office as a pre-loaded software - many others do - but I still like the value for the price. I would definitely recommend an external set of speakers as the ones built-in are not very good. If you have cats be aware that tails will operate a touchscreen so make sure you back up everything! LOL

Great for everyday use. It's a very neat, compact PC. The wireless keyboard and mouse gives my desk a clean, neat look. The touchscreen is also quite convenient. There's an on-screen keyboard that makes it easy to get things done without the hassle of a mouse or keyboard. All in all, it's great value for your money.

I changed from a laptop to this large touch screen. I use the keyboard mostly but the touch screen is very useful. I read lot more on screen and don't use my printer as much. Speed is much better than my old laptop.
