    Good all around everyday laptop

I purchased this same laptop 14 months ago. I had to buy a new one because the keyboard on the old one stopped working-just past the 1 year warranty (ugh). I thought I'd give it another go because I really like this laptop. I like that it is small and lightweight compared to other laptops. It has 2 small changes I noticed since the last one I purchased; the power button is a button integrated into the keyboard instead of sticking out on the side near the ports and the keyboard itself feels different in that the keys are not as sensitive to the touch as compared to the last one I had. I hope this keyboard lasts longer than 14 months. It is an all around great computer but I wouldn't recommend if you are going to use it for gaming because it gets quite hot when playing a video game. I would recommend this computer for everything else you use a computer for. 4 stars instead of 5 because I'm not sure what will happen yet 14 months down the road.

Could Have been great but for the keyboard

The one additional feature I was looking for in a laptop was a backlit keyboard which this model provided. However the light only stays on for about 30 seconds if you are not continually typing. There is no adjustment to change the length of time the light continues to stay on. Since the keyboard is silver it is extremely difficult to see the letters on the keys unless the the light is on. I purchased this online and did not have the opportunity to see the keyboard until I picked it up from the store and started using it. I have learned to adjust to it by touching the keypad. Otherwise, I have no complaints. The speed is great. Nice size and weight. HP could fix this with an update but when I called they said this was the design. I may have returned it but I had already purchased and installed MS Word and I would have had to repurchase for another laptop. This is not a show stopper but you should consider if purchasing sight unseen.

Love this laptop so far. I bought another HP a year ago but the resolution was lower and no backlit keyboard. This has HD touchscreen and backlit keys which are great at night or in low light. Not that impressed in tablet mode because machine is bulky compared to a real tablet and couldn't figure out volume controls unless opening keyboard. Only downside with this laptop is the battery life isnt that great and it gets warm on the bottom and fan comes on which gets noisy.

I needed a replacement device that was not slow and would enable me to conduct my video conferences and presentations. This system worked perfectly and is aiding me a lot thus far. The only issue I've noticed is that it appears as if the battery doesn't hold the charges. I discovered this when I turned off the laptop and didn't turn it back on until two (2) days later. When I did, the battery indicator was blinking on the screen. Other than that, pretty good and I got at a reasonable price. Just got it so will review as I use it more.

I love this computer. I am mainly using it for work and it has been great so far. The battery life is pretty good, I was hoping it might be a little bit better but at the price point, I can’t really complain. I love, love the touch screen. I wasn’t sure at first if I would even use it, but I find myself using it all the time. It’s really cool that I can still have the keyboard open and use the touch screen. I haven’t used it for much other than work at this point but I would definitely recommend it!

This laptop has been excellent for grad school. I primarily use it for course work (Web Browsing, Microsoft Office, and light photo editing). The touch-screen is very responsive and perfectly portable and not huge since I am always on the go around campus. Battery life is decent 5-8 hours with multiple spreadsheets and tabs open. Performance doesn't seem to throttle. I notice the fan picks up speed quickly even just having chrome open with less than five tabs.

We bought this for our son for college. He's on it all the time for school, and also uses it for light gaming, Minecraft, as well as a few other games. He's very please with how smoothly it runs, the touch screen, the speed, and the screen quality! He doesn't use the 360 feature that often but finds it occasionally convenient. Very please with our purchase. He did have to fiddle with the bluetooth settings a bit to get the wireless earbuds working with it, etc.

The laptop is a good basic laptop for students. The touchscreen and tablet option is nice. It is a bit clunky as a tablet, but it is a nice option to have. The sound is good and it can handle a few tabs/programs running at a time. My only issues are the battery life and how fast it heats up, I'm scared to use it for more than a few hours at a time max. The fan is noticable, but not bad. Overall, a good basic laptop.

We love this laptop. Perfect size. Love that it has touch screen too and folds to tablet mode. Clear screen and picture. Good weight. Not the lightest laptop ever, but not the heaviest either. I didnt want something completely thin and flimsy as i feel like those are cheap quality. However, this is also in no way bulky. Excellent laptop for price and we use all HP products at work and never have issues..

We loved our first purchase three weeks before so much that we purchased a second one for our son’s girlfriend. It’s absolutely perfect to meet the needs of a new college student who just needs a basic laptop to get papers typed, research, social media, and entertainment. We love the 2-n-1 option as well as the touchscreen. We would definitely purchase this again!

I've been using the computer for a few days, and I am really enjoying it! I am enjoying finding ways to utilize the tablet mode and thankful with the amount and variety of ports the laptop provides. It is running very well even with lots of tabs open and worked perfectly for my online meetings. I would definitely recommend this laptop to a friend, but not at full price. It did take a very long time to arrive, but that is attributed to USPS, not Best Buy.

This is a great computer for everyday use and I got it on sale for a great price. The speed is good and the backlit keyboard is great for working in various lighting conditions. The only issue (and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars - is the fact that the computer gets a little warm and the fan is loud when it kicks in. If you can deal with that - there are no other issues I have experienced so far.

What a Mainstream Laptop Should Be!

It's always nice to see laptops in this price range becoming more competitive in their features against higher-end models. Here's a breakdown of this laptop's configuration... Build quality is above average, and the laptop feels fairly solid to hold or carry. The sturdiness is not on the level of a Surface or a Dell XPS, but at the same time, it cannot be expected to be. It is relatively light and not flimsy, which is much more than can be expected from many of its price-competitors. The Ice Lake 10th Generation Core i5 is snappy and efficient, and delivers good battery life while not feeling like a furnace. It's definitely a bit of a side-grade when compared against its 9th Generation predecessors, but it is decidedly a better improvement than we've seen in previous years. For basic to intermediate uses, from web browsing and video calling to light photo editing, it will get the job done nicely. If you are looking for something that can handle video editing or gaming, you may want to consider something with more horsepower. 8 GB of RAM is sufficient for 90% of people out there, and if you know enough to think you need more, you should probably be considering something beefier anyways. The holy grail of this configuration at price points like this is the Solid State Drive, or SSD for short. I cannot overstate how important this is in modern computers, as many consumers blindly believe that storage amounts are the important factor, and not storage SPEED. The fastest computers will still only move as fast as their slowest components, and this computer will outpace anything with a mechanical hard drive, almost guaranteed. Most people will not store more than 100 GB of data on their drives anyway, so the idea that everyone carries that, "1 TB is the golden standard" will often curse their new, slow computer when they end up with a mechanical hard drive with tons of space they won't even use. Overall the screen is decent, and at this price, having a 1080P display instead of the usual 768P is a big boon. Don't expect amazing colors out of it, but expect it to be competent. The touch sensitivity is fine, but unless you're buying it specifically for the touch screen capability, you likely won't use it - most people don't. The Keyboard is backlit, and that's another premium feature that's nice to see at this price point. Overall, the keyboard does not flex under average weight, and keys are not too mushy but also not too stiff. Overall it is unremarkable, but that's a good thing. Webcam quality is decent. It will get the job done, but don't expect to be taking any beauty shots. Considering even Apple still lazily ships 720P webcams in their laptops at several times the price, I wouldn't expect this trend to change anytime soon. A great package for a greater price.

I love everything about this laptop. It is compact, lightweight. It operates fast. It is easy to use. I love the color. I also love that you can use as a laptop or flip for a tablet. I love the power cord it angled so it is convenient to use while plugged in.(my prior computer had a power cord that stuck straight out the side and was always awkward and in the way. HP is user friendly.

It was a gift for my daughter and she loves it...going off to college in summer and she wanted to have a fairly robust and portable laptop...I wanted the same but inexpensive..well this laptop has it all, speed - for daily tasks , email, I guess not heavy editing , but I think it could handle it...lit keyboards and it's size and weight are near ideal for portability ...all in all a good buy and happy with it...

I've had a 14" HP Pavilion laptop for the past 10 years (Win7) and always appreciated it's performance, screen resolution, sound quality and compact design. However in that time period, battery life was always an issue. Alas, started having operational issues with a non-supported Win7 Op system and decided to update. This newest 14" HP Pavilion X360 2-in-1 with SSD hard drive is faster and deadly quiet, has improved screen resolution, audio sounds better, and all in a very sleek minimally spaced package! It's ergonomic function, size and weight are wonderful (very solid and sturdy) and the battery life with SSD hard drive appears to easily last through all day usage! I would have preferred more SSD storage, but an external drive will will easily accommodate that need! Now, getting use to Win10 was a different story! Apps-Apps and More Apps-OMG! Finally got that cleaned up and Win10 looking and operating more like Win7,,,ahhhhh!

This HP Pavilion is a GREAT computer. It has everything that I wanted. It is super light so when I travel it is great. It has a back lit keyboard which I need. It also has a touchscreen, the laptop folds into a tablet, and is really a great, great machine for a really good price. Best Buy was super helpful and pick up was so easy. I highly recommend the HP Pavilion X360!!

I purchased this HP - Pavilion touch screen laptop on June 26, 2020 because my computer that I brought in to Geek Squad hoping to be repaired could not because a service member of Geek Squad said parts were no longer made for it because of its age. So like many, I needed to quickly replace it because I was working from home due to COVID 19. My criteria for a new one was price, touch screen, and backlight of keyboard. It fits all and is sufficiently doing the job.

My ten year old laptop finally gave out (3 days before online class). This touch-screen was an excellent choice. It's lightweight and sleek, easy to setup, and a great price. The memory was more than enough for my use. Only problem I encountered was it would not detect my wi-fi, even after troubleshooting. Will have to contact Geek Squad. Hoping it's only a minor issue that can be resolved quickly.
