I purchased the latest generation Spectre , and found it to be an overall a really good laptop. It is quick, responsive( I run database programs IE: filemaker , ETC. and it breezes thru 1000's of records quite quickly. The battery lasts me7-9 hours of regular use( chrome tabs, database, emails .) My only complaint so far is that I need to hit the space bar quite hard or sometimes it wont inserta space. ( I'm hoping this loosens up as I use it) Otherwise its really good. and the screen is beautiful.

This laptop is beautiful! I have been very pleased by the battery life so far, though I haven't used it for Netflix yet. The I was happy to find that there was a protective (leather type) sleeve that came with the computer. I am new to Windows 10 so that is the only thing so far that is frustrating. The touch-pad is more sensitive than I am used to which has caused slight irritation, but I am sure that is only because I am accustomed to using a laptop from 2007. I'm thrilled about my purchase.

    Great Laptop, Dissapointing Issues

This laptop was fast, ascetically pleasing and fun to operate while i had it. As a web developer and graphic designer, this laptop really appealed to me and i waited half a year to get for the right price along with Lenovo Yoga 720. Unfortunately, it had a couple issues that were hard to overlook for the money i paid for it. I actually went through 2 before i decided to not bother with it anymore. For some reason, the laptops had a hard time being quiet. The fans would constantly run and get really hot, even while only just web browsing. It got really annoying running Photoshop and apps that even used a slight amount of power. The fans would get louder constantly until you close what your were doing. Only for it to do it again shortly after. Off the charger, the laptop would emit a high pitch noise if the brightness was turned on high enough. The laptop also emitted some kind of electric, scratchy noise occasionally. I believe it was called "coil whine" and there was a Youtube video that demonstrates what it sounds like. If you are in an open room/environment, you probably wouldn't notice too much but you will when you are working in a quiet room. Tried doing a clean install and install updates to the drivers, but most were completely useless. It may have possibly gotten worse when i updated the BIOs, and the files provided would not allow me to rollback. As for positives, the screen was great to look at and very responsive. The laptop was really fast and the speakers sounded great. Plenty of space & ram to do your everyday tasks. Too bad this version did not provide the pen for me to try Windows Ink. Tablet mode was cool but the laptop was kind of awkward to handle since it is near bezel-less and pretty heavy. I almost hated how you had to be really careful so you would not scruff or scratch the finish on the laptop. You will want to baby this laptop if you care about it. Tried to look for solutions to keep it before i returned my last one but none were available. It's a shame because i really liked it, but it's hard to consider keeping when you have issues and see more coming in the future. Too bad, since it seems like everyone else sending in reviews got the "perfect laptop with no noise". Maybe i was at the wrong end of HP's quality control. Moving on to a better deal.

It’s a premium laptop in function and appearance. The SSD makes this computer really fast. Startup, launching programs, and managing files are very quick. The 4K and the display is sharp and colorful. Connectivity for peripherals is a little limited with 1-USB, 2-USB-C/charging, and 1-HDMI. I may look into one of the USB-C hubs if I find it necessary. Note that a leatherette protective sleeve comes with the computer, but a pen stylus is not included.

Setup was flawless. Excellent screen and very good kb. I bought this for travel, especially for using Lightroom and Photoshop photo editing on the road. I had to buy the Wacom Bamboo active pen separate but it is great for photo editing. My only complaint is weight - a pound plus more than the Dell XPS 13 I was considering; had the Dell (on sale) been a 2 in 1 I would likely have gotten that, but the Spectre has everything I need.

I got this laptop around Black Friday, so I got it for around $400.00 off. Overall, it's a great-looking laptop, boots very fast and the picture looks great! The trackpad can be a bit sensitive at times, but that's not too much of a headache. Given the specs, I think this laptop is a great buy, but I sure wouldn't pay the full $1600.00 price point for it. For $1200.00, this is a great laptop. For $1600.00, this laptop is just overpriced!

I really like the feel and snappiness of the laptop. The screen and performance is everything you would expect from this price range. The one problem I do have, however, is the build quality. I have had it for a couple weeks and have always carried in in the sleeve and never so much as scratched it. The one hinge on the laptop is bent outward. The laptop itself works properly but its annoying considering the price. I have handled it extremely gently and guessing it is from carrying it in the sleeve in my backpack. For the price you pay for it I think that there are better constructed options out there.

I needed a PC laptop, but with Apple retina display quality because I don't always have my reading glasses with me (but find that I can read just fine on my iPad). The 4K/UHD screen resolution is taking care of this. I was also in search of a much faster laptop (we use this to navigate when cruising on our sailboat) and again, this laptop is hitting the marks.

The speed is flawless. The setup is easy. The screen is beautiful. The cappuccino copper color is interesting. I have no negatives about this product. If you are looking for a sleek, high performance laptop then save your time because this laptop delivers, and I believe it is durable if treated properly (shutting it off, not wearing out the battery, etc).

Background: 3D Modeling, animation and video editing. I purchased this laptop for business trips, but I now use it to do my work on. I have a 6th gen Intel Xeon 8 core CPU and Nvidia M4000 quadro with 64GB of RAM workstation. This mobile laptop performs as well or better than my workstation using Maya, 3DS Max, Autocad and Adobe After Effects. I'm blown away. The 3.8k screen is bright and beautiful, even in direct sunlight. Folding the touch screen 359 degrees is VERY useful too when you are squeezed in a seat at a conference and when everyone would hear the clicking of the keys. The laptop's design is just gorgeous too, I get compliments all the time.

I purchased two of these laptops for my daughters at the beginning of 2017 and thought they were a great deal for the money. The HP Spectre 360 is a beautiful beast. The 8th generation Core i7 make it snappy and powerful. The 4k display makes working on it a pleasure. About my only complaint is that there is no pen included with the laptop this time. The earlier version came with one included in the box but a Surface Pen or Wacom Bamboo Pen work fine with this device. I prefer the Wacom for feel and if you are buying this machine you really need to have a pen to get the most out of it. Battery life is ok but if you are going to be doing a lot of work on it you definitely want to bring the charging cord with it. HP is still including the faux leather sleeve with it so that helps. The sleeve also has a place for either the Surface or Wacom Pens. I use it mainly to run Adobe Lightroom and some 3D modelling software and both programs run smoothly. I would definitely recommend this laptop.

I bought this laptop on black Friday online as a replacement for my daughter's old laptop. Best Buy had a $400 discount on this laptop and thus the least expensive among other retailers. This 8th generation Core i7 laptop boot up really quick. The 4k HD display is very clear. The sound is good too. The leather laptop cover was a pleasant surprise. One area of improvement: The laptop was packaged inside a beautiful box, which was inside another HP box with a handle, which was inside yet another much larger shipping box. I think Best Buy can eliminate the large shipping box to save the environment.

I'm impressed with the high quality, beautiful form factor and speed and ease of use. The 4K display is superb and the NVIDA graphics card quite fast. On the downside it's a-bit heavy I suspect due to the sound card and larger memory. 5 Stars from me.

It's super thin, good quality and fast. I have not bent the screen farther than the usual table top position because it's supposed to revolving but I will have to test it out soon. The stylus is not included so you will be spending more if you want the it. From my research and the availability at the stores, there are only two screen sizes with the HP Spectre and I bought the 15.6" because I have been doing basic web design and wanted a larger screen to ensure visibility. Some people have been surprised with the similar prices when compared to the MS Surface Pro but the Pro didn't have the screen sizes I was looking for. I have also been running adobe CC apps on my new spectre and it works just fine. I also bought it on Black Friday and got a super good deal I couldn't pass up because I had been keeping tabs on the prices for the past two months.

Slim and beautiful laptop, but with issues

This is your 8th Gen Intel U series processor, meaning it is quad core as opposed to dual core, meaning substantially better performance with similar battery life as the 7th gen processor. Laptop performs as expected, plays moderate games well but not your AAA titles with the MX150 graphics card. With plentiful 16 GB RAM and a blazing 512 GB PCIE SSD, the specs are future proof for a while. My issues with these laptops have been quality control -- coil whine, annoying buzzing which is subtle but VERY noticeable in a quiet room. Just imagine white noise, but high pitch. Also the touchpad is too loose at the bottom left and right click areas, so when "tapping", it will make an annoying thud sound. This is the 2nd laptop that has given me issues, 1st one where the hinge makes a squeaking sound every time you turn it 360 degrees. I am hard-pressed to keep the laptop with these small quirks, but if it weren't for these issues this laptop would be a win in my books.

I know reading some of these reviews, you might say these reviews are bots, fake people or HP trying to sell their product. Well I'm legit! lol I'm an average dude who streams movies online, browse the web and occasional gaming. This laptop hands down is THEEEEE BEST! Blows many laptops out the water! It's extremely fast from shutdown to start up and vise versa. I don't experience any types of lags at all unless it's my own wifi network issue. Some of the reviews, might've been from a previous version of this laptop and not this 8th gen intel i7, 4k Ultra high def, 16gb memory with a 512gb SSD! In short, I researched and was going to settle with the hype of a MAC, but I'm super glad I took my time and made this purchase. No problems at all and you will definitely get a whole bunch of BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!

I bought it to edit photos because of the 4K display but I am finding it more and more attractive because it can be used as a touch pad to stream UHD content, to read books, to make beatiful spreadsheets and Power Point presentations. I like iPads because they boot and shut down fast but this laptop is seeing a lot more use than the one it replaces because It downloads content rich pages even faster than the iPad. For heavy duty work and lifelike display this 4k laptop is the best for the money.
