Pricey but useful
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Roomba i7 is an interesting piece of tech, positioned as a time saver for a tedious task. Setup was simple, then it was off and vacuuming. Mapped the house after a few runs. Not as strong a cleaner as a normal vacuum but it helps with maintenance. The base station automatically cleans the bin, which is a nice addition.

IRobot I7 and bin is Wonderful
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Thorough vacuuming across carpets and hard floors with multiple pets for several months now. I once served as a janitor and this vacuum performs consistently and dependingly. Cleaning the robot is very easy and parts easily are replaced on a maintenance schedule. Wish that I had bought this years ago.

First robot vacuum
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been waiting and waiting to get a robot vacuum and when I saw this model on sale I jumped all over it. Awesome vacuum!! The smart mapping is very cool because I can clean one room or all rooms. Auto emptying is a very nice feature as well. I have two small dogs and this works very well in getting everything up with no problems. Should’ve bought one a long time also.

Great for pets
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this for my wife for Mother’s Day. We have two cats and this had helped with picking up pet hair and even get’s rid of the hair tumbleweeds in the corners of the house. The app is very easy to use. One of the main reasons for buying it because it self empties so you don’t have to empty it out every time it gets full.

Mapping is great!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As advertised! It accurately mapped everything after just a few uses. I can say “Alexa, tell roomba to vacuum the kitchen” and it will roll itself to the family room, complete the job, and return to base. Then it empties itself! So cool! And I carry it from floor to floor and it mapped those rooms too!!

It’s nice
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The vacuum quality is excellent. My house is so clean after a full job. My only complaint is how often it had connection issues. We have it housed in the same room as our 1 gig router and it still acts up often. Once it gets going though, this thing is a beast. Price is rough though.

Cool little helper
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works pretty well and an improvement over older models. But, pretty loud so don't plan on running it while you sleep. App works well and being able to map home and block off problematic areas is pretty useful.

Overpriced, falling apart, doesn't work
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This vacuum has had issues from the day we bought it and we regret we did not return it before the return period expired. Performance: The vacuum regularly gets stuck on it's own. A LOT! It doesn't "learn" trouble areas where it repeatedly gets stuck, like sliding glass door tracks (even with the glass doors closed) and inside a bathroom. The only workaround is to create "off limits" zones, but this is a complicated and time consuming process. The vacuum does not have accurate estimations of it's distance back to the home base and many times has run out of batteries before it could make it back to recharge, so you have to pick it up and place it on the base. The "self emptying" feature is EXTREMELY glitchy. Our device repeatedly says the bag is full when it is not even 1/4 of the way full. Something is off with it's sensors. We have tried putting brand new bags on, only to have the same error. The rotating brushes have an inferior design that does NOT handle human hair well. In a home with 3 girls, this is quite a problem. The rotating brushes get jammed and tangled up with even the smallest amount of hair. Inferior materials quality: The 3 pronged horizontal rotating brush has had 2 of it's 3 rubber "arms" with brushes on the end fall off. Again, poor design if the vacuum and brushes are designed in a way that puts too much strain on the brushes to remain intact. (They appear to have regular prompts suggestion you buy new brushes, filters and front to back rotating grips, so perhaps they are trying to adopt a model of making more money off of parts they already did from the initial - high - purchase price?) Tech support: I called and spoke with someone from iRobot tech support. He was not empathetic or even apologetic for a negative experience and basically said there is nothing they could do about it and nothing is under warranty after a certain amount of time from the date of purchase. PRIVACY: iRobot recently was purchased by Amazon. There is an article out saying that data is able to be gathered from the device about the layout of your home and that it stores visual pictures and/or video clips using the camera that helps guide it around your home. I have not verified this, but it just another point to be aware of when considering if this device is right for you or not.

iRobot - Roomba® i7+
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Machine works good, easy to program and cleans rooms as directed. I have several oriental rugs and it struggles slightly with the fringe but over all does a nice job. Every once in a while it leaves a little dust in the corners which is expected. Overall I am very satisfied the results and would recommend it to a friend.

So far so good!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have only used this one for a few weeks, after getting a full replacement of the original one that I bought. So far, I am happy with the performance of the unit. It has successfully created a map of my house and has fully cleaned as hoped. I have Fibromyalgia and can't manage to run a vacuum anymore, so this has really been a life-saver!!

Time saver
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical about a small robot vacuum but it’s solid. A lot less manual vacuuming since purchase. works best on carpets in my opinion but also does well on hard surfaces. Once you map the level it becomes more efficient. You can creat multiple maps for each level of the home. The no go zones are great.

Cleans the floors with ease
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This may be the single best purchase I have ever made when it comes to making my life easier!!! I first purchased the iRobot - Roomba e5 Wi-Fi Connected Robot Vacuum - Charcoal because it had great ratings for pet hair. I gave it a try for a few days and didn't like the way it bounced around with lack of direction and consistency. Also, it seemed to be geared for less square footage than what my home needed, and it wouldn't finish the job before running out of battery or needing to be emptied. I needed to babysit it more than I wanted. So I returned it for the Roomba i7, and I am so glad I did!!! I love the way it mapped out my home allowing me to pick which room I would like to clean and when. In addition, when it is full, it returns to the base to empty in vacuum bag and returns to where it left off last. This feature allows my home to be vacuumed while no one is at home and does a great job of getting up the pet hair. We have a large 100 pound dog and 2 long haired cats along with 2 young kids. The feeling of having the floors cleaned by simply clicking on the app while I am busy with other activities is priceless. Beyond very pleased with my purchase!!!

Quite an Upgrade over our Old Shark IonRobot
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We recently purchased this Roomba i7+ as a replacement for a Shark Ion Robot we got from another retailer a couple of years back. Since we purchased the original Shark, we added a dog with a good deal of shedding (though he is a small dog so there's only so much he can shed.) The Shark just wasn't getting the job done anymore, and it was getting stuck all the time, and required a lot of maintenance. We were hoping for an upgrade without going all the way to the $1,000+ range, and the i7+ fit that bill. In short, we are thrilled with the upgrade. The vacuum base in an awesome feature, and the movement patterns and mapping are far, far superior to the shark. The shark moved entirely on a sort of "trial and error" navigation, where the Roomba is much smarter in what it sees and remembers. The RUBBER rollers are easy to remove and clean, and they also don't tend to get mucked up like the rollers on the shark which are hard plastic with brushes. A dog hair nightmare, in otherwords. I would highly recommend this particular robot, and we are very happy with it.
