This is a funny classic, great movie with a long list of my favorite Hollywood actors of that time in the cast. One of my all time favorites and one I can enjoy with my kids with no worries of anything inappropriate they might see. Glad to be able to get it on Blu-ray and at a great price!

After devoting his entire working career to the Police Dept, SpencerTracy is about to retire with a ridiculously low pension for his long and loyal service. On the day he is to retire, he unwittingly takes on one last assignment by observing and keeping track of a mixed bag of 'zany treasure-hunters". It turns out they are all after the same thing, to solve the mystery of the dying bank robber's clue as to where he hid the cache of stolen money.Tracy sees a way to retire "in style" if he lets them find the money, then arrest them, confiscate the cache of money as evidence and instructs them to 'give themselves up' to the police department where he will meet them. Class 'A' entertainment! This movie will have you laughing from start to finish with a collection of characters played by a collection of Hollywood's Class 'A' Stars! One of the funniest movies you will ever see!!!!!!!!

A great example of what makes a classic movie. Great story and screenplay; great production and directing; great music; great casting; great acting; great location shooting and great cameo appearances. Even the opening credits are entertaining. This is one of those once in a lifetime experiences where all the pieces came together at the right time. A time when Hollywood was purposeful in telling complete stories with no room or need for sequels. Making sequels was not the norm in 1963. I wonder if the word "sequel" was even a part of the Hollywood movie studios' vocabulary back then. I found it hard to believe this film is almost three hours in running time. As I traveled along on this journey with the characters, I practically forgot about the time. I enjoyed the ride and I'm sure you will too. "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" is a prime example of Hollywood's ability to produce unforgettable films to be enjoyed time, and time again.

Every popular 1960's comedian makes this film HILARIUS!!! I first saw it as a child and wish my parents would have video'd the scene in our living room that night....kids all over the floor holding their stomachs with laughter and my stern mother trying so hard not to laugh her face was turning red. I put it on for my children one Easter Sunday and they laughed just as hard! The next Easter, one of them asked me: aren't we going to watch that funny movie we watch EVERY Easter?? So our family tradition was born. HA!

Very funny classic movie. I think its the only movie to have every comedian in it alive ay time of filming. Movies can be funny without being crude or vulgar. I wish they could still make some like tfat now.

A Comedy Classic from the 60s

Once upon a time, before Mel Brooks and Monty Python changed the face of film comedy, this is what high class low-brow comedy looked like: get an A list director (Stanley Kramer), assemble an all-star cast of some of the biggest names in Hollywood comedy (Jimmy Durante, Sid Caesar, Milton Berle, Buddy Hackett, Phil Silvers, Terry-Thomas, and the inimitable Jonathan Winters), throw in an Oscar winner or two, playing against type (Spencer Tracy and Mickey Rooney), and toss them into a fruitcake of a story that never pauses long enough for a plausibility check, this one concerning $350,000 in stolen cash (remember, back in 1963 that was a lot of moolah). If you are used to modern screwball comedies today, you might find yesterday's a bit quaint--this one no exception. But if you want to find out why so many comedy stars today (like Will Farrell) consider Jonathan Winters an inspiration, just watch his work here, stealing every scene he's in.

One of the greatest comedies of all time; when my 12 year old son laughs out loud and watches it by himself again this proves how timeless this comedy is. Criterion always comes through with solid supplements and 3 versions of the film which is great value for your money-well worth getting this version over the others.

This is one of the funniest comedies with an all star comedy cast from the 1960’s. I was about 10 years old when I first saw this movie back in the 60’s and I still laugh as hard today as I did back then. Definitely a comedy classic that any comedy fan should have!

I saw this movie when it came out in the theater. I also have the VHS version of which I have viewed many times and now, the DVD version. I don't believe there has ever been a film created with this many true Kings and Queens of Comedy! Good, clean fun sans profanity and/or sex. A film to which you can show free of needless cursing and so very, very funny! A must have for your collection!

This film is from a much more simpler age of motion pictures. Is exciting for the whole family. Without all the rigormoral if so film today. No nonsense acting and excitement. So take a trip back a bit and grab some goodies for an old fashion movie sit.

"It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World" has been a favorite since I was a kid in the 60's! Spencer Tracy is brilliant in a comedic role (when was he not brilliant)! This movie mugs it's way through great physical comedy just like the silent films of Chaplin, Keaton and Lloyd. Ethel Merman as the annoying Mother-In-Law is hysterical (only wish she sang). Enjoy a great romp of a very silly movie with a cast of dozens of the best performers form several generations!

Truly a classic, one of the funniest movies of all time. Should be required watching for anyone who likes classic films, is interested in comedy/improv or just wants a good laugh. You'll be crying with some of the Hollywood legends' performances as a group of averages joes turned treasure seekers. A family favorite despite the lengthy run time!

It's been years since I had seen It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. I first saw it as a child and have loved it ever since. It had been awhile since I had seen it so I picked it up on DVD. The quality is very good and it was under five dollars.

A stellar cast, a hilarious plot! You can't go wrong with this old classic. Even today, still one of the funniest movies ever! I highly recommend this one. If you liked The Rat Race, then you will absolutely love the one that started it all and in my opinion is better and funnier.

This zany comedy classic featured the biggest names in Hollywood in the mid-1960s. The celluloid exploits of actors such as Mickey Rooney, Sid Caeser, Ethel Merman, Buddy Hackett, Peter Falk, and Spencer Tracy make It's a Mad, Mad World a joy for me to watch over and over.

Must have for your collection. This is a film made at the time when humor was pretty clean and really funny. I've never seen a movie with so many stars without egos! Non-stop laughing! The garage scene with the late Jonathan Winters will live into perpetuity...
