The mounting plate on the wall is very close to the top edge of the tv. Not a problem for my installation but if it was a different place it could have been.

I had to order this item but it came in quickly. I was very happy with the overall product. Was easy to install. Installation took me less than one hour. I would say anyone who is not even mechanically inclined could install the product.
