Just annoying little things, like the volume button being positioned such that when you go to turn the phone off, your opposing fingers naturally hit the volume button (thereby aborting the turn-off). Phone turns itself back on when I put it in the holster, so the battery runs down much faster unless I noticed that it turned itself back on. I guess I'll get used to these shortcomings, but in this day and age, shouldn't this kind of stuff be avoided????

Overall, i generally prefer LG electronics of all types. This phone doezn't dissappoint either. The only change i would make would be a stronger battery.

Making the jump to smart phones, my wife and I were convinced to buy a couple of Lucids over an iPhone 4 in an effort to save money. We were told, among other things, that the number free apps available and the 4G network available to the Lucid would top the iPhone 4. What we weren't told is that the Lucid is a Best Buy exclusive because the quality of the phone does not meet Verizon Wireless' quality standards. Since buying them, here's what we've learned: 1. There are plenty of free apps available, if for some reason you need 30 different variations of a flashlight. 2. The Lucid has an incredibly slow connection that makes a site like Facebook frustrating and a Skype connection nearly impossible. 3. Basic Android apps, such as the Facebook app simply do not work. After 3 weeks and only 2 successful, though temporary connections, I gave up and just used the browser. 4. The few games that I put on there work well, but are accompanied by a frustrating amount of advertising via notifications. This isn't the phone's fault, but it is worth mentioning for new smart phone users. 5. The battery life is ridiculously short, even for a smart phone. With a full charge, if the data is only turned on twice, the battery generally lasts the day. With the data on so as to receive emails, etc. as they arrive, the battery doesn't make it through lunchtime. It isn't out of the ordinary for us to fully charge our phones 2-3 times a day. 6. Because it is a Best Buy exclusive, accessories are almost nonexistent. The store where we bought the phones didn't even carry protective cases for them. 7. Despite downloading the Android File Transfer app, the phone does not "connect seamlessly to my Macbook Pro, just like an iPhone" as we were told when we bought them. Above all else, the phone is unreliable. In the 5 weeks that we've had the phones, we've have experienced numerous dropped calls (something I've never experienced in my 12 years with Verizon) and have not been able to send or receive multimedia messages, including pictures. At one point, I restarted the phone and received 3 days worth of text messages that had somehow been 'stuck' in there somewhere. To us, the Lucid isn't very good for a phone, let alone a smart phone. Yesterday, I went and turned in the phone, preferring to use one of our old phones while I wait out this waste of an upgrade over the next 22 months. That said, the Geek Squad Protection Plan and the buy-back program are reasons enough to get your next phone from Best Buy. I highly suggest them. Just don't get the Lucid.

    Great smartphone for the price

The LG Lucid is my first smartphone, and I've had it for a little over one month. After a great deal of research reading reviews for many different smartphones and comparing the specifications, I decided on the Lucid. The 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of system RAM and 8 GB of flash storage are excellent for the two-year contract price, which for me was $49. In addition, there is a micro-SD expansion slot to add more memory, which is good because the onboard 8 GB is split 4 GB for the Android system and 4 GB for user storage. One of the things that turned me off on the iPhone was the lack of expandable storage (as well as the price). I don't currently use a lot of apps, and I don't have many files on the phone, so storage isn't a problem. I like knowing, however, that I can expand the memory if I need to without buying a new phone. I've found the phone to be responsive with no noticeable lag in opening and running apps and the graphics run pretty well. The camera is good and takes decent pictures. Overall, the phone's performance has been great, again considering the price. My main use for the phone is as a phone, and the call quality, volume and speakerphone are excellent. Some people I've talked to say they can't tell the difference when I'm on speakerphone. Using the dialpad during phone calls has taken a little bit to get used to, but I'm slowly acclimating myself to the new system. I do not text, but I use e-mail quite a bit. Setting up my e-mail accounts was a breeze, and reading and replying to e-mails has been easy to learn. Using the internet has also been easy, especially when I'm connected via Wi-fi. Verizon's 4G LTE has, apparently, a limited coverage area. There is a noticeable difference between 3G and 4G LTE, and, unfortunately, I find myself on 3G more often than not. Because I'm not constantly transfering data, it is not much of a problem, though people who are often transfering data may find it inconvenient. 4G LTE will likely expand, so it's nice to have a phone that's capable of using 4G LTE. The Android OS is a bit quirky, and does on occasion require that the phone be restarted so that it goes back to normal operation. I have not had any serious issues, only minor annoyances that were fixed with a restart. I expected this, as my research showed that Android phones tend to have a number of complaints about operation, while iPhones and Windows phones are praised for their stability, ease-of-use, etc. Go figure. Apple and Microsoft have been making operating systems for decades and Google is relatively new. I've found the battery life to be as expected. The charge drops to about 20% or less by the end of the day, and I charge it every night. My research found that battery life is a major complaint with every smartphone, including iPhones. As I expected the battery charge to be short, I cannot complain too much about it. Overall, the phone does precisely what I want, has expandable memory, excellent call quality and is less than $100. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

If you have small hands and are not a power user, or even a moderate user, then this might work for you for the price. I am currently using it as a backup for my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 in repairs with Geek Squad. PROS - small, compact, bright screen (almost too bright), loud ringtones, 4G LTE capable, can control with a thumb as the screen is small enough, WIFI. CONS - too small for large hands, screen too small for big fingers, slow, OS freezes often on more than basic usage, will not accept a SD card larger than 32gb, barely acceptable usability beyond basic phone without WIFI. LG has come a VERY LONG WAY since the Lucid and Spectrum models. It is a good thing too... they were nearly run out of the Cell Phone business. If you like LG get a G2 or G3 as you will be much happier with it that this older model.

I aquired this phone free through a Best Buy promotion when my contract was up, my previous phone was a Droid Incredible (the first one) and I loved it. However, by the time my contract was up it was on it's last leg. I think that's why I like the Lucid so much b/c it reminds me a lot of the Incredible only faster and with more memory/storage. I read previously that the Lucid overheated and shut down when it was charging, that was a concern for me b/c I use my phone a lot when it's charging. So far I haven't had any problems with that and actually seems to be a lot cooler than my Incredible when it was plugged in. I like the size of this phone and the weight is light, I didn't want to carry around a brick like most phones have become and this phone is far from a brick!! I'm very happy with this phone and the ease of use and all of the features not to mention the clarity of the pictures and the standard apps that come with the phone. The screen charging feature is pretty nice too and it seems to have all of the buttons you need (phone, vm, messages, camera) always at your fingertips. . .very user friendly! I forgot to mention the Gorilla glass that is standard on this. . .no screen protectors for me!!!

I bought this phone becuase I decided to upgrade from the 3G network to the 4G network. My 3G phone was constantly sticking and I would have to go thru the process of shutting it down and taking the battery out. It would freeze up during phone calls as well. This became very frustrating. I wanted to get a different phone, but the price was way too high for me. So I decided on the Lucid. It's been a great phone and I haven't had any trouble with it, but I hate the fact that the battery drains so quickly. I wish there was an option to buy an extended battery. I shouldn't have to charge my phone more than once a day.

This is my 2nd smart phone, but 1st 4G. I was overwhelmed yet excited with all it can do. I love the 4" screen and over-all size, the colors/brightness, slick design & speed of the phone. Because it can do so much the guided tour feature is awesome. The battery life did seem short. I took the phone in to Best Buy and the sales guy was great! He looked at my phone and made a few adjustments to prolong the battery life (closing running programs etc). It does make a difference to make sure your power saver features are set to the correct ones. Especially if your using your phone alot. GREAT phone!

The only reason the price is so good is because I got this phone for free, haha. And now I'm glad I did! The on-screen keyboard is really easy to use and I love the design of it but my battery dies so easy! I've had other smart phones and used them for the same thing and the battery lasted years longer in comparison to this one! I charged it over night and unplugged it about six this morning. I didn't use it but to send one text and come ten o'clock, the battery is at 12%!! Ridiculous. And today it was also so hot I was afraid it was going to melt the silicone on my case. One good thing about this phone is you can find an otterbox for it.

Good phone. I've had it for about two months now. Haven't had any problems. The battery always runs up short (only about six hours) when I spend all day emailing or playing a game. If I only use it off and on, it easily lasts all day. The reception is great, even at home which is 30 miles from good reception. Way better reception here than with previous phones. This is my first smart phone so I'm not familiar with many of the slicker features of better screens or more responsive touch screens but for me, this works awesome and I would recommend to anyone for the cheap selling price!

I bought this phone with the recommendation of a bestbuy sales person. I am pretty happy with the choice because it is free, it is a 4g phone, and it has the functions that I need. I can't complain since i did not "pay" for the phone. But i do agree with many reviewers, the speaker phone quality is bad and the battery life is scarily short - it may deplete in 6 hours. I may have done something wrong, but...

I just upgraded from an original droid, and wow is this phone a real step up. 4G really is amazing. I love everything about this phone so far. Except the battery life, I charged it up full and then let it sit for 8 hours and it had lost over half it's charge. If I had used it a little I would understand this, but not having touched it I think that this level of power consumption is way below average.
