While this LG UltraGear 27” Gaming Monitor is a basic, an essentially entry-level gaming monitor, it does the job. Visuals are rich; colors true-to-life. The 27” size screen is adequate for my own personal needs, and fits nicely on my desk setup.
Overall, this monitor is well made; the stand being especially sturdy. It was easy to setup, too. There is a cord management ‘hole’ on the stand, which is quite handy as a gaming setup can get cluttered with cables, even with all the wireless peripherals and accessories gamers have available to them.
This monitor’s screen surface itself appears ‘matte like,’ and in my opinion, doesn’t look as good as more ‘shiny looking’ screen surfaces. However, this type of appearance does cut down on visible glare, especially true if you have RGB lights or a lighted streaming setup on or around your desk.
The 27” screen size somehow seems larger than it actually is, and during gameplay it provides a wonderful view of the in-game environment. This UltraGear monitor is highly adjustable. While in ‘landscape position’ the stand can move up and down, swivel side to side, tilt forward and back, and then can also be turned to a vertical position.
Basically this monitor is simply “plug and play,” although an HDMI cable is not included. While there are display settings available via the monitor itself, you may need to go into your computer’s Display Settings to adjust the screen resolution, as I did, since the maximum resolution for this monitor is 2560x1400. There is an LG Switch App you can download from LG.com for more display customizations, but it’s not absolutely necessary and the monitor works without having that app.
Overall, my impressions are favorable. So far I’m pleased with how this monitor performs. I did notice the fast refresh rate and low latency response during my gameplay sessions. This monitor fits my basic needs, just fine. Though for those seeking a ‘higher-end’ gaming monitor experience, you’re going to want to invest a bit more cost. This model LG UltraGear 27” Gaming Monitor is definitely “entry level.” But for its price point, it’s a good one.

The LG UltraGear 27-inch IPS QHD 200Hz gaming monitor is an excellent choice for gamers who want sharp visuals and very smooth gameplay. The 2560×1440 resolution delivers clear, detailed images, while the IPS panel provides wide viewing angles and strong color accuracy with about 99% sRGB coverage. Its 200Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time help reduce motion blur and ghosting, making fast-paced games feel responsive and fluid. DisplayHDR 400 adds brighter highlights and improved contrast, which enhances both gaming and streaming visuals.
Another strong feature is adaptive sync support, including AMD FreeSync Premium and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility, which helps prevent screen tearing and keeps gameplay smooth. The adjustable stand and slim-bezel design also make it comfortable for long sessions and easy to fit into most setups.
Some limitations include HDR performance that is decent but not high-end and HDMI 2.0 ports that may not be ideal for certain console setups. Still, with solid image quality, fast performance, and strong gaming features, it’s a reliable mid-to-high-range monitor for competitive gaming, everyday use, and multimedia entertainment.

Under $200 for a 200 Hz refresh rate and IPS seems to be working out well. No issues playing battlefield six no ghosting issues or anything that might cause an issue. Only critique I would have is the button on the monitor to get through the menu is a little funky takes a little bit to get used to it, but luckily I won’t be needing to get into that very often after an initial set up.

I’m honestly really impressed with this monitor. The picture quality is super sharp, colors look great, and everything feels smooth, especially while gaming. The refresh rate makes a huge difference — gameplay feels way more responsive and fluid compared to my old screen.
Setup was quick and easy, and the build quality feels solid. No screen tearing, no weird issues, just a great experience overall. It’s perfect for gaming but also works great for schoolwork, videos, and everyday use.
Definitely recommend this monitor if you’re looking for a solid upgrade. I’d buy it again without hesitation.

Have used it with several different computers in a short time, testing and working on the computers. Connected my Mac mini M4 pro by hdmi and got full 200hz at 1440p. On my other desk is a several year old Samsung 34in ultrawide 1440p at 75hz. The picture quality is night and day. Debating on another ultrawide or going back to dual monitor with 2 of these for my other desk. Going from vn panel to ips and higher refresh rate makes me wish I would have done this sooner. Price is hard to beat for what it is. Personally I would not go with a 1080p monitor and now after getting an ips and high refresh rate monitor I can not go back, and can not justify the cost of an oled monitor. This monitor seems to be the sweet spot!

Great budget monitor but keep an eye out for sales it frequently drops nearly 50-70 bucks on special. On special its an amazing monitor at full price its still good value but its annoying to see it drop in price a week later. Good color quality and decent black colors without too much light bleed but I like that its 1440p at this price and refresh rate so cant complain.

This monitor has been amazing so far. The picture quality is sharp and vibrant, and the high refresh rate makes everything feel incredibly smooth, especially while gaming. Colors look accurate, and there’s no noticeable lag or screen tearing. The size is perfect for my setup, and the stand feels sturdy and adjustable. Overall, it’s a great upgrade and definitely worth it for both gaming and everyday use.

This is the best 2560x1440 monitor for the price. I even got it on sale. Best decision I could've made since I wanted to upgrade from a 15.6" laptop screen to this 27" monitor. Ive noticed the stand causes it to shake easily with slight movements on my desk, but that doesn't take away from my 5 stars. LG never fails me.

I purchased this monitor so my new computer could display 1440p and a reasonable refresh rate. We don't do much gaming, but the output looks great, and it has a good refresh rate and latency for the times we are gaming. It has both HDMI and Display Port inputs. I have no complaints!

Decent monitor for the price, when on sale. Not worth it for full price. Decent picture quality. Good selection of inputs (2xHDMI and 1x DP). No USB hub. And still has an external power supply. Really prefer internal PS but forgot to check on this. Stand is OK, but not spectacular. Some monitor shake when desk is bumped. Would prefer a much more rigid stand.

It works quite well. It's running CAD software and has a great display for this. I don't need the refresh speed - though it's nice - as most of the work is relatively static designs. Also a few "office" type of applications. In part I narrowed down my overall selection field as it has both DisplayPort and HDMI inputs.

Excellent monitor with very clear and sharp display. Text looks crisp, colors are clean, and everything feels super smooth with the 200Hz refresh rate. The screen is easy to adjust and comfortable to use. Great for gaming and daily work. Highly recommended.

Great monitor for the price. The QHD resolution looks super sharp on a 27-inch screen, and the IPS panel has awesome colors and wide viewing angles. Smooth performance for gaming and perfect for everyday work too. Clean design, easy setup — really solid all-around monitor.

I got this Monitor to replace my aging LG 27MB85Z. This monitor has a much better refresh rate, great picture quality, great viewing angles. And overall the display is a LOT smaller. The monitor advertises freesync, but G-sync is also supported in the Nvidia App.

Using this for my nephew’s PC build. For what you pay, this can’t be beat. HDR is average, but at this price point that’s expected. Zero light bleed around the edges, which can be an issue for budget monitors. Image quality and colors are amazing. In the 200 MHz refresh rate is awesome, especially if you have a video card that can take advantage the FPS!

This monitor is very nice and has an attractive price. I am not a gamer, but decided to upgrade to a larger, higher resolution monitor when I got a new PC.
The image quality and black level are fantastic. I had a problem initially when I hooked up the new monitor and new computer with the displayport cable that comes with the monitor. I kept getting black screen and had to reboot several times. Eventually, I removed the displayport cable and connected an HDMI cable and then everything came up ok. After I had gotten windows installed and updated properly, I shut down the PC and monitor and removed the HDMI cable and connected the displayport cable. Then it came up ok. Then I had to enable HDR on the PC. Then I fooled around with the display parameters. It came up default at 144hz refresh rate. I tried 200hz refresh but saw no difference. I eventually chose the 120hz refresh rate. It always came up at the 2560x1440 resolution. And the stand allows you to use the monitor in Portrait mode (which I haven't used yet. It is hard to tell if it is still on or not after a pc shutdown, you have to shut it down manually. there are few to none instructions included, it should have a book because if you can't get it going at startup you're done, you can't see anything. Gamers may find it more attractive than regular users.

Good monitor for the price. Couldn’t find too many with the same specs at the $200 range. Have not had any issues. Only thing is the display port area is very narrow, so if I want to remove the display port cable that I use, I have to press and pull on the cable but there’s only a small amount of room so I have to use something to press down on the cable. Not too big of a deal though.

Great monitor overall. The QHD resolution looks sharp, colors are vibrant, and gaming is very smooth with the 200Hz refresh rate. Setup was quick and the stand feels sturdy with good adjustability. HDR is decent but not amazing, which is expected. Solid upgrade and very happy with the purchase.

Excellent monitor. Used AI to find best settings for text display. Love the space available and the resolution. The On/off switch is also a joystick toggle for menus; this is awkward. Good for the price.
