I now use 2 of the Velop Plug-In AC1300 Dual-Band Wi-FI Mesh Extenders in conjunction with my Linksys MR9000v1 base station to get wifi around all the corners in my house. Works well. Especially with all the wi-fi accessible devices in our work from home house... computers, phones, TV, lightbulbs, cameras, switches... Wow, just listing all that blows me away how much I rely on wi-fi.

This has been a great option to extend our current 3 node Linksys velop system. We have a three story home and just added a pool/patio area that we wanted to extend WiFi to. This was a perfect option without paying another $150-$200 for another node. Not to mention it’s plug and go, setup was easy and location minimizes the footprint of another node setting out somewhere.

Couldn't have been easier to install - just plug in and use the Linksys app to link to the network. Working as well as I'd hoped!

I bought the Linksys 2200 Tri-band Mesh Wi-Fi 5 router and I bought the Linksys Velop Plug-In AC 1300 Dual Band Wi-Fi- Mesh Extender for a couple of rooms that had sketchy coverage. The set-up was super easy. I’ve had it a month and all my devices work great in every corner of the house which we have never had before. I’m a HAPPY, HAPPY camper!

Plug-in Linksys Unit Helps with Connectivity

The Linksys plug-in network extender has been very helpful in establishing WiFi connectivity in our house. Setup was easy using the app. When the unit has any issues connecting to our network, there’s an easily accessible reset button (or you can unplug the unit and then plug it back in). I also need to give credit to the Geek Squad for their assistance when I had questions before and after the purchase.

I am always trying to improve my network by making it faster and more secure. I have a three level town home which I am trying to cover completely in a mesh network. This is just one more device that I am trying to improve my coverage. I am still in the process of connecting everything and I have heard Velop has pretty good coverage. I will have to update this review at a later date once I have everything connected. I will be using this device along with several other devices to cover every corner of my home. I cannot take a slow network and I often find myself spending the money to try out new products. The thing that I hate is having to reboot a device after uptime of a few days I am hoping that with Velop I will not have to do this and and I can allow the device to run for a month or more without a reboot and again I will have to update the review at a later date to let everyone know my results. So in conclusion Velop has gotten good reviews and I am hoping that I can add to that but for now I am still connecting the devices .

These Vollups eliminated all weak and drop points on my entire propery. Tgey are essential to having consiztent coverage and bandwidth on a large property.

This Mesh extender works well with the Linksys MR9000 router. It took a while to set up where I had to call tech support. Each unit has to have the firmware updated before it will sync up with the Linksys routers. The instructions do not mention any of this. That is the only reason I downgraded from 5 to 4 stars.

I have an existing 3-Node Velop system but had some occasional coverage holes in the basement office. I plugged this unit in and it seamlessly added itself to my network and filled in the coverage gaps. If you can set up the Velop system to begin with adding this is straight forward. Warning: this is not a stand-alone device — It is a Velop expansion node only.

THis particular item is being used in connection with a velop 1300 3 part mesh extender kit (the little towers). This particular plug-in item has performed BETTER than the other tower units. One of the tower unnits has gone off the reservation, keeps a funcritioning light o, but doesn't respond to the controller app, and resets are not working. Another one of the towers has spotty connectivity. This plug in unit does't have any problems so far. But the over-all VElop AC1300 series is NOT my favorite mesh optio and I will be liekly trashing the whole thing. So this review gets 3 stars, really 4 for this unit but 1 for the velop 1300 series system. And I am rounding up.
