Great Product I ended up being THAT customer

I am THAT customer because we purchased the white set and after it was delivered the silver color looked better for our preference. The white set was delivered by amazing employees and verified no issues or damages. The second set arrived silver color, the delivery team was not like the others. The washer had a dent in the front and worked fine. But paying for a new product I called the sales rep he swapped it out ASAP. The 3rd set arrived was delivered by a perfect team again, no issues or dents. We read the instructions and went through all the settings, we leave out the tray that holds liquid soap etc. We use the soap filled pods and place them at the bottom before loading the clothes. The water fills from that soap tray area, I could see issues from other reviews adding too much liquid soap. This machine is very quiet. Our older front load set you would hear it in any room of the house, now we can run it at anytime even after putting kids to bed. This is a lot bigger and holds what we had 3 loads all in 1 load now. Works perfectly, after reading the instructions we know what to set for colors and huge blankets to towels. We do like the deep fill sensor turn on/off button, for the larger loads etc this works great. After reading other negative reviews I am that customer, I sat with a flashlight watching the wash start. It starts off turning slowly and adding water as it spins slowly. The sensors click on and off for the weight of the load and water levels as it is spinning slowly. It will keep spinning and then stop. Water keeps filling and cuts off then it starts the washing cycle. I thought it was like the other reviews and not washing correctly. But it was still sensing the clothes and balance of the load. After a few minutes when it auto balanced the load and water was at the sensed capacity then the washing actually started and the agitator functioned as it should. We thought it was defective or not made like the old agitator sets. Some could think its not washing properly when it is self balancing the load. Yes I am that customer that would have exchanged it immediately but I love this set. Not one issue with the washer or brand, we made sure we did our homework before using this and we researched this unit on all the features on what it actually does. Make sure you have good water lines. We used our older water line and who knew they were smaller in diameter inside. We bought new water hoses that were I believe 5/8 inside opening and the water capacity with the water pressure was the only noise we heard while operating. This 3rd set is great delivery drivers can ruin anything by denting or drop items who knows. Bu that is not the manufacturer or items defects. The 1st set in white was just like the this one perfect and worked the same. I would highly recommend this to anyone. My mother is 5' tall and it is a taller huge tub. It is very easy to spin the tub by hand to bring all the clothes closer to you for access.

It's weird, it looks like it's not doing much on the surface but it cleans my clothes so much better than my old front load. It's easy to overlook that the impeller is doing all the work. It does not rely on just swishing the clothes around in water. So far I am very pleased with this machine. Just follow the instructions on how to load your clothes and the machine will do the rest.

THIS MAYTAG IS SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!

I bought this machine because my LG decided to stop working properly (unfortunately). The good things about the Maytag washing machine are: it has a decent amount of options / functions, it's easy to use, it's a good value, it has a large 5.2 cu. ft. drum, and it has an agitator (a personal preference). Other than the few positives listed above, it's absolutely horrible. I'm actually calling Best Buy ASAP to exchange it for something else. Let me explain why this particular Maytag is horrible. The day I got it, which was only 8 days ago from the date of this review, I was anxious to see how it performed. So, I got a small amount of clothes and put it in the machine. I set the machine according to my washing needs (Normal wash, warm temp, med-heavy soil, med-max spin and deep fill off). I decided to leave "Deep Fill" off to see how much water the machine would add based on the amount of clothes in there (huge mistake). Then, I pressed START. This is where the disappointment begins. The water started to fill. To my total surprise, the water stopped after a very brief amount of time, only putting about 3" in there. I mean, my clothes were barely wet! Then, to my total surprise again, the agitator started agitating...while my clothes were still dry! There wasn't even enough water in there yet! I was waiting for the machine to start filling up with water again, but it didn't. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I've never had a machine where the clothes remained partially dry while being washed. Even on the rinse cycle, there's barely enough water in the machine to get the clothes totally wet. Anyway, the machine went through the cycles, while the clothes were still partially dry the entire time. Needless to say, I had to wash my clothes a second time. This time, I turned the "deep fill" on, hoping it would add a lot more water, or at least enough to get all of my clothes wet. IT DIDN'T!!!!! So, even with deep fill turned on, there's barely enough water for the clothes. One more issue. While it's running, everytime it goes into a different setting where the drum has to slow down / accelerate, it makes a loud clicking sound...like something is grinding inside the machine. It sounds bad! To sum everything up, the amount of water that gets added in the washing machine is not nearly enough to do any laundry, regardless whether the "deep fill" is on or off. It also has a terrible grinding sound when changing between settings. I'm totally disappointed with this washing machine. That's why I am exchanging it ASAP! Finally, I would NOT recommend this washing machine to a friend. I wouldn't even recommend this washing machine to someone who isn't a friend. Well, maybe...lol!!! The pics aren't the best quality because I had to reduce them in size in order for them to be attached. Hopefully, you can see them OK.

Do not buy this washer! I wear navy nursing scrubs. Every load they come out covered in lint with white powdery marks (I use liquid detergent). They look worse than they did before washing! I have to use the deep fill because the water doesn’t come close to covering the clothes. Best Buy has a 2 week return policy. Two weeks? I probably did 2 loads of laundry in that timeframe. I wish I had paid more attention to the return policy and thoroughly tested this product: run more loads on different settings to see if it made a difference. I’ve done that now with no difference in the final outcome. What a waste of money.

Do not buy! I don’t know how I missed all of the negative reviews warning others of how this washer will eat, tear and destroy your laundry. I used the delicate cycle and even reduced the spin speed to the lowest setting and it completely shredded my two Anthropologie blankets into pulp. I used to wash them every month in my old Whirlpool top loading agitator washer and never had any problems whatsoever. The best explanation I found in researching tons of reviews about this washer was that the agitator winds up and then back down, so it seems like it can pull a piece of fabric and twist it all the way up and down causing tears. Additionally, I think with high efficiency washers, since it barely covered the load with water, the agitation might be harsher. I’ve now read so many reviews of people crying over torn sheets towels and clothes. This is ridiculous. I called Maytag and Whirlpool (parent company) and had the most ridiculous, disappointing lack of resolution. All they would offer is to charge me $100 to send a technician out to check if the washer has a functional defect or failure, and only if it does, will they then offer “options” such as fixing it. The washer is “functional” but it’s seriously horribly made if you can’t even wash a sturdy blanket on a delicate cycle!

We purchased this washing machine with the impression that the “deep fill” option would actually allow me to fill the tub. We were very inaccurate. Sheets, towels, and bulky items didn’t even get covered in the wash cycle. Everything came out dirty and tangled. I tried every option this machine allowed, it didn’t clean our clothes. Best Buy customer service was fantastic though, the picked it up 8 days later. No one has 2 hours of their life to waste washing sheets in a huge washing machine that doesn’t fill or clean their clothes. I ended up comparing the new Speed Queen with a commercial Maytag, and the Maytag won. It’s received raving reviews and comes with a 5 year (everything is covered) warranty. 3.5 CU. FT. COMMERCIAL-GRADE RESIDENTIAL AGITATOR WASHER Model #: MVWP575GW I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS MACHINE. All our clothes are clean, and it runs like my mothers washing machine. A normal cycle is under 45 minutes too.

Best HE top load washer ever!!

After much research i settled on this machine and so glad I did! What a difference from my 10 yr old HE washer to this one! had a chance to use most cycles and I like using deep fill on just about everything I wash! deep fill option is available on all cycles except normal cycle for some reason. maybe they purposely didn't put deep fill on normal since its probably most used cycle to conserve water/energy, i don't know. anyway, for my normal i use the colors cycle and then modify temp, soil level (wash time), spin, deep fill. i like that it remembers settings from previous wash and displays remaining cycle time. lid locks when you press start and unlocks when you press pause. great if you have small children or have to add something to wash load. when doing a small load i let machine auto-sense water level. it chose low level which seemed ok for the few items but that low water level left a little oxi residue on clothes so i had to rewash. i washed another small load using deep fill and i got much more water. enough to completely cover clothes this time and no oxi residue left on clothes. i use detergent as directed or less per load and my clothes come out clean! With my old machine I was adding more detergent and running extra rinse cycle. this washer has very big and deep drum so clothes can swish around freely. plenty of room for large loads and bedding. clothes loaded loosely allows them to move around freely and in this large drum it cleans well.i was able to wash all our large towels and wash cloths in one load that would normally take me two loads! it also handled my queen and king comforters no problem. yay! no more trips to laundromat! quiet washer compared to my old noisy vibrating washer. I only really hear it when its draining. otherwise pretty quiet even on spin. control panel is straightforward and simple to use. some ppl complain not enough water, but I don't have that issue. for an HE washer i get more than enough water using deep fill option for any size load. agitator is definitely better than the impeller i had in my old HE washer. only negative i found is the bleach dispenser is right up front and does not flush with water so its easy for clothes to tough that dispenser when loading if not wiped out. also there is no pre-soak or soaking option which is odd, but there is a soak using powerwash or deep wash option. One workaround I found is you can press pause during wash to soak for any length of time and hit start when ready again, but DO NOT OPEN LID while paused bc machine will drain after 10 min. I paused it for about 15 min with lid closed and it did not drain and then restarted with no problem to complete cycle. my pics show the difference in amount of water levels using auto-sense and using deep fill. the deep fill load completely covered with water and washer still adding more water! Overall really great HE washer that gets my clothes clean!

I'm used to old school washers, where it fills up with water, you throw in some detergent and clothes while it's filling, and it swishes it all around. This is not that. Differences in how it works - Detergent has to go in one of the receptacles at top. You have to put the clothes in before starting, it will not start or continue to fill if the lid is open. The lid actually locks while it's running, you have to pause the cycle to even open the lid. Even when using the "deep fill" setting, it does not fill all the way up with water. From what I can tell, it works by slowly drizzling a water/detergent mix over the clothes, using enough water to get everything good and wet, but not swimming in a pool. It's then wrapping them around the agitator, getting them clean. It seems to work pretty well, and I've got no complaints about the cleanliness of my clothes. There are lots of different cycle choices too, complete with an electronic countdown timer, which is handy. I thought I would like the glass lid more than I do. Yes, it's glass. But it has a black tint to it, there's a pattern of small circles too, it's difficult to see what's going on. Not quite as difficult as trying to look through frosted glass, but close. I've also been surprised by it's size. 5.2 cu ft is really, really big. What was two loads before is one in this thing. For example, it'll take a comforter, top and bottom sheet, blanket, and pillowcases - all in the same load. All my linens on one. That was two before. I keep putting more and more in it, trying to find the point where it's not cleaning everything well anymore, and I haven't found it yet. It's really big, and can actually clean a lot of things at once. So, not quite what I expected, which was an old school, open up the lid, start it up, throw in some detergent and clothes while filling up with water. Not the way this works at all. But that said, it works well, and I suspect it's better for my water and power bill too.

Best looking washer ever. Functions better than any I've ever used. Has every option. Yes, the HE washers don't seem to put enough water in for some people... but no, I've never had any soap on my clothes and they've never not come clean. My old washer was commercial and required stain sprays to get the same things clean that this washer gets clean automatically. I only use 1 pod, toss it in the washer, load the clothes, close the lid and then choose my settings and everything is clean and smells fresh. The washer makes a few noises while it weighs and measures or balances the load, but it is very quiet running after that. HUUUUUGE capacity. Even king size bedding fits easily. I ran the affresh through after 1 month even though there was no hint of mold or any smells.

My primary problem with this washer is that it is very, very deep. I am about 5'3'' and it is necessary for me to stand on a step stool when I take the clothes out of the machine. It never occurred to me when I bought it , to see if I could comfortably reach the bottom of the washer when standing next to it. I thought that the larger volume would be an asset, not a liability. Also, based on other reviews I read when deciding which machine to buy, I was concerned about having enough water for each load of wash. I though that having a " deep fill " option would provide lots of water for the clothes. It seems that there is not much water given when I choose deep fill. The clothes are not floating in the water. Although the clothes are all wet, there is a big difference between the levels of water when I compare this washer to the older washers before they were required to have a water saver design. I was hoping to be able to see how much water each load has, by looking in the glass window at the top of the machine, but the glass is dark and it is not possible to see exactly how much water the machine has unless you stop the machine and open the door. However, the clothes seem to get cleaned despite the low water levels. I don't know if there is any machine out there today that will give us the deeper water levels and allow us to soak a garment overnight. I like having the time remaining feature and the end of cycle ring .

I chose this washer because it seemed the best of the bunch for what I wanted. However, this washer limits you in your manual features. I hate the high efficiency washers with no agitator and skimpy water level. This has a deep fill option with three levels, that really still limits the water level. Even I you choose the highest deep fill level, the washer may revert to its own choice of water level, and go down to the middle deep fill level. It may be higher than without choosing deep fill, but it's still not high enough for me. I have not found a way to override this, so I've paid a bunch of money for a washer I still can't control, Secondly, when you choose a washer setting, such as bedding, or colors, the washer chooses the water temp and wash time. I prefer to choose my own water temp, water level, and wash time. This washer does not allow that. I do, however, have an agitator, which is so hard to find these days. I do like the huge drum, but it is so deep, it's a struggle to reach the bottom to get the clothes out if you are short. In an effort to be energy efficient, most new washers take away our control of washing our own clothes. What used to take 30 minutes to wash a load of clothes now takes an hour or more. Is that really energy efficient? Wash day lasts all day or sometimes two days now because of the time it takes to wash a load of clothes.

Had the Bravos version of this washer and while it was fine for doing clothes and things that could move around easily, I felt like an agitator was necessary for the bigger items. THIS washer has an agitator that seems to be much more gentle than washers of long ago. This washer has thoroughly cleaned my king size all white down alternative comforter, and with the deep fill and oxi options has gotten out spots that I thought were permanent on my comforter. This was an expensive sideways move, but I think the agitator and deep fill options make all the difference in the world when it come to larger items. I've had a front loader with no agitator for 10 years, a top loader with no agitator for 1.5 years, and by far this washer gets things cleaner and has the room for large items even with the agitator. Thank you Maytag and Best Buy for solving my laundry issues.

I have purchased several other washers manufactured by other brands, LG, Bosch and were not satisfied. Between the lack of water used, the smell and the never ending cycles, doing laundry was such a pain! So far I find this Maytag top loader with agitator to be easy to use, efficient and hard working. I truly feel and see the difference in the cleanliness of my clothes! Bravo Maytag for going back to an old fashion agitator and offering a deep fill option.

This washer works good compared to the newer washers out there. But, it doesn’t work as well as my older washer which had an agitator. It gets them clean, but it doesn’t take out some stains. The power is weak. I guess that’s how it saves energy and water. The thing I really like about this is it’s capacity to hold larger loads, which mean less loads to wash.
