Not for the US Market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The hardware of this phone is rock. But the firmware is the problem. It was programmed for Europe countries. The 3G service won't work on ATT or T-mobile. It has the navigation app but only work for Europe, not even has the US map. And you cannot remove it. The worse (my opinion) is that, when you type the '$' from the QWERTY keyboard, it come up with '£' even I setup the language is American English. No way to change it to '$'. Some articles from websites said "root the phone and you can change it". Well, I don't know how and I don't have that much time to do all this advanced setting / modification to get the phone work for use in the US. And root the phone may void the warranty either. The phone should be programmed for the US market before it sells to the customers in the United States.

Just not for me

I have 2 friends that have the phone and I have played with it. Out of the box it needs so help (utilities and upgrades). I do like that you can custom you phone to how you want it, but it is not smooth out of the box. My cell phone- Iphone 4...why because it is smooth and has a lot of apps (yes droid has apps, but the iphone has more) Would I recommend this to a friend - Yes and No. If you cant fix a computer (small or easy problem) then you dont need the phone (because a friend will have to set it up for you and most of the features you will never use). If you know your way around a computer then the droid maybe for you. The phone is for someone that can put the time into it to bring it to its limit. If you are not going to put the time into it then get a simple phone. Dont be that guy that gets a phone because you think its cool, but its over your head.
