I updated from a 6183 to this one. It was between the 8200 and this. Modem. I chose this one. It’s much more stable. I was having issues with speed. I pay for 200 Download, and was lucky to get half that. My speed has increased dramatically. This solved the problem. It’s also looks to the future being capable of port aggregation. Great modem, highly recommended!!

This is an excellent DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem. By using the link aggregation feature, I am able to routinely get 1,300mbps (1.3gbps) though my Asus AX11000 via WAN aggregation and the 2.5gbps port. My desktop also has a 2.5gbps port, so I had no limiting factors via wired ethernet. I use the modem on Xfinitiy's gig plan. My average speeds are 1200d/40u in SW Washington state. Note: I personally had some issues activating my modem, but I don't fault the modem at all. Xfinity seemed to be the holdup. It took me about an hour before things finally worked out and were authorized. Good ol' Xfinity/Comcast....

Like always Motorola dosent disapoint when it comes to cable modems.Works great!

We've only had the Motorola modem for a short while. So far it's performing well. Our previous modem was also a Motorola although it was over 8 years old. Very happy so far, will definitely recommend it.

I didn't really need a new modem, but I had internet put in at my dad's house, so I put my old one in at his house. This one isn't any faster, but it is Docsis 3.1, so I added a layer of future proofing. Having a good modems is like keeping a clean house. When it works (or the house is clean), no one notices. That's how it should be.

None of the reviews talked about the 4 ports in the back of modem. I was very surprised to learn after the set-up, only 1 port works. Each port must have a separate IP address from your internet provider. Cox cable will not sell or assign multiple IP addresses. Great speed but did not meet my needs. Currently looking for a different modem with more than one usable port. I wanted a straight connection to the modem for my desk top computer and directv. All routers decrease speed.

Works great! Faster than my old one. When your modem goes bad, thank god there is a Best Buy in the neighborhood :)

Replaced an older Motorola modem with this. Internet service seems to have gotten more consistent and reliable. Note that you cannot use the extra Ethernet ports as a switch for additional devices. The extra ports are only for higher speed multi port binding with the router. I had to buy a switch to connect all my devices, then connect the switch to my router, and router to the modem.

I was able to replace the modem from my internet provider with this modem. It was easy to set up and is working well.

It was plug & play when I switched from DSL to cable internet and I haven't had to constantly reset it, the way I did with my former router. It's probably overkill for my current needs with 100 mbs, but I appreciate that it can handle higher speeds should I need them in the future. Hopefully, it will be durable over time.

Very good equipment. Set up was a breeze. Performing like a champ!

The best modem upgrade! Improved my speed and reliability

I had one of these before, and it was taken out in a lightning strike (so much for my high dollar surge protector). I needed this asap so I could get back to work, and once home and unboxed, it took about 15 minutes to get it activated through our provider (Cox).

Worked very well on Cox Ultimate, replacing a Cisco DOCSIS 3.0 modem and markedly increasing the network speed. Very pleased with the performance of this unit, which only required an online chat with a Cox tech support agent to have Cox recognize the unit. And I couldn't beat Best Buy's price point anywhere else.
