My wife previously had a Samsung S6 and had a S4 prior to that and I have an S7 myself. Both of us have past experience with phones that had closer to stock Android (Nexus S, Razr Maxx, Droid way back when) and were looking for something that didn't have all the extra bloatware that we never use provided by Samsung. We were also trying to be more economical and not get into a leasing or contract to buy plan so we came across the G6. In the past year I'd also helped my mom get the G5 Plus and I had found that to also be a nice option. Since the G6 was the latest iteration, I must say I've been very impressed. Pros: - Cost is exception compared to the $700+ latest premier phones that are pushed by the carriers - Battery life has been exceptional without any trouble making it through a day without needing to charge, unlike the S6. Hopefully this holds up over time. - Vanilla version of Android and Motorola's added optional usability extras are actually worthwhile - TurboCharge (Qualcomm Quick Charge) - USB-C Cons : - Wi-Fi lacks AC band - No wireless charging - Pixel density could be higher, but it looks good - No auto screen dimming (you can enable it but it doesn't do anything) - NFC Basically all cons are extra features that are reasonable to be omitted for this price range. Outside of having the latest and greatest features of the flagship phones, this one gives you more than enough to have a great smartphone.

    Who needs an expensive phone?

I had purchased an unlocked Motorola phone earlier this year before taking a trip overseas; it worked fine, but I ended up using it as my primary phone when my older one's battery bit the dust. I was perfectly happy with my my G4 Plus but then I dropped it (without the protective case, of course) on a sidewalk, shattering the screen. When I was told that the cost of replacing the screen was about half the price of buying the updated G6 model, I said "Time for a new phone!". So, I purchased the G6 at Best Buy, using some of my Reward Points and taking advantage of a sale. The phone is about the same size as my old G4, which is good because of my large hands, very comfortable to hold and easy to handle. The G6 comes with Android 8.0 and Motorola (Lenovo, these days) doesn't load the phone up with a lot of bloatware (I'm looking at YOU, Samsung!), so it it easy to navigate. All my old Apps from the other phone were easy to reload and update, as were my photos. Camera quality is pretty decent and intuitive and my photos so far have turned out well. Call quality is good and I've yet to be dropped during a call (Sprint is my carrier). The only complaint I would have about the G6 is that the battery is smaller than the older model, so battery life is a bit shorter, but the charging time is faster, so I just plug it in for 15-20 minutes if necessary (and, to be honest, I rarely have to). So, has it got all the bells and whistles of a higher-end Apple or Samsung? Nope. Does it cost nearly as much as either one of them? Nope. So, if you want a very good phone at a very good cost, the Motorola G6 is a great alternative.

If you are looking for an unlocked phone with features of a flagship phone, the Moto G6 is for you. It has a great look and feel to it. The camera is really good at this price point. The keyboard reminds me of an iPhone keyboard. The battery life is really good and the quick charge on it is super fast. I received two phones with no charge. I had 45% batter life in fifteen minutes and a full charge in an hour and ten minutes. I have gone a full day using the phone (15 hour day) and my usage varies--some day I use it less and others I use it hard. I have yet to run out of battery life. The phone is very easy to use and set-up. Motorola has won a loyal customer.

I bought a Moto E4 when the Moto G5 was not yet working on Verizon, but I went a little too cheap. The Moto E4 could not do Voice and Data at the same time, no HD calls, and it bogged down with the 100+ apps I've loaded. Well this unlocked Moto G6 fixes all that! HD calls on Verizon, simultaneous calls and data use, and great speed! I like the smaller size too, not nearly as chunky as the E4. The 3000mah battery usually lasts all day with no prob. WAY better battery life than my Samsung Galaxy phones. Oh, and since it is unlocked, and has all the radio frequencies enabled (to work on any network), I almost always have coverage when others don't! And for a price WAY less than flagship phones!

While not a flagship phone the moto g series always brings some premium value to the $200 price range for phones. The G6's all glass feels nice but I do question its durability in the long haul. I preferred the use of a metal or aluminum back that was found in the G5 and G5s. The Motorola software is still one of a kind and never intrusive to the basic stock Android. In fact the software is what keeps me coming back to moto. No other phone offers the same quick access gestures or "always on" screen than Motorola. The processor, ram and camera all aren't top notch but at $200 I never expected them to be. The phone does fine with everything you would expect a phone to do. The only thing I would say that I don't prefer with the G6 line is that none of them are waterproof, just a water resistant coating, which I feel is a miss given today's expectations of phones. Overall I continue to be impressed with Motorola, even though it is under Lenovo and not the Motorola of old. But besides that I keep going back to their phones year after year. Which brings me to my last point. The phone will usually be supported for 2 software updates to Android but after that I don't recommend keeping them due to security reasons for being out of date. Hence why I usually get a new phone every year and a half I'd say, but again that can be done for $200. It still beats paying $750 to over a grand for a phone, even if it's leased with payments. That to me is just insane.

I love this phone, especially taking into consideration the fact that it costs 1/3 of the price of most flagships. Pros - Price - Screen (18:9 ratio, curved corners, etc) - build quality (all glass and feels nice in the hand) - USB-C & Turbo charging - HEADPHONE JACK!!! - relatively vanilla android experience, with some nice additions from motorola/lenovo (chop motion to turn on the flash is incredibly handy) Cons - runs warm sometimes - camera could be better - very slippery in the hand, i recommend getting a case - Motorola / Lenovo software support is terrible Overall, i would recommend this phone to anyone who enjoys tinkering with their cell phones, or even as an inexpensive backup or temporary phone. Third party modifications and roms are slow moving currently, but it already has root with magisk and TWRP is being tested.

Definitely a "Your mileage may vary" product that fills kind of an odd niche. I purchased this phone to replace a fossilized first-generation Moto X. The old phone fit my needs quite perfectly, being small, light, highly portable, and simple. The 4.7" screen was far too small for a lot of contemporary users, but I liked how I could operate the entire device from a static hand position with nothing but my thumb and trigger finger. However, I'd already replaced the screen twice and the battery once, and the camera had gone bad, and a handful of firmware related problems were really causing it to struggle. My review of the G6 will be heavily influenced by the things about the Moto X that I liked. First up, size. The Moto G6 is very thin and light, while having a very large screen. Additionally, the 2160x1080 provides an unusual ultra-wide aspect ratio with a lot of on-screen real estate. This combination of factors means you have a huge display that readily fits into most pockets. Why I'm not crazy about this personally, is that the phone can be a bit difficult to hold if you've got huge, callused hands like I do, especially combined with the very slick exterior texture. Definitely needs a case, though the selection of first-party cases for this unit leaves some to be desired due to the nature of the phone as more of a B-list product. My second gripe is more of one with the ANdroid operating system, which can't be blamed on the phone. The highly sensitive nature of the screen means that it's easy to very quickly enter information in a precise fashion, with fnger or stylus. Much more sensitive than a number of other handsets in this price range, almost strangely so. What I've found is that because of this, the phone is *always* doing something if it's in your pocket. If you don't lock it, you'll find lots of new random Facebook contacts added, unusual Google searches onscreen, and settings changed, such as the pulldown menu being unable to respond. If you *do* lock the phone, you'll find that 2/3 of the time when you pull it out of your pocket, it has attempted to emergency-dial a number on Mars. Android's problem, not Motorola's, but it's a feature of the product, so I can't leave it out. It's only a matter of time before I accidentally dial 911, and frankly, I would be surprised if this was anything new to the emergency services operators. Now, what I like about it, is that it does have a very bright, clear screen that gets along with my dry skin quite well, unlike a lot of other capacitive touchscreens I've had to use over the years. Having both the charge and headphone port on the same end of the phone allows this, like many other models, to be safely used in a car stuffed into a cupholder without damaging the cable or the charging/TRS port. The phone is rich in security features, not just at the software level (things like facial recognition or accelerometer usage) but it also has a good multifunction switch on the bottom which works as both a fingerprint lock and a directional control. Features you'd take for granted on a fancier model, but might not expect on something like this. Another thing I am very happy with, is the absolutely minimal bloatware loaded to the unlocked version of the device out of the box. It was worth the extra few bucks not to have to deal with all the ridiculous sports coverage apps that Verizon thinks they're doing you a favor by adding. My overall thoughts are that there were some compromises made in designing this phone. If your phone is nothing but a tool to you and you are in that odd niche where you really should have a more upscale model, but just don't want to be bothered with the culture or the walled-garden experience and premium pricing, this might be a good choice to make. If you're looking for a phone that feels and looks high-end and gives you that glamour experience of having a really premium A-list device, maybe skip this one. In a world where every phone wants to be the Mercedes Benz or the Lamborghini, this phone is more of a fully-loaded Taurus. I removed one star because of the problems I have while the phone is in my pocket.

Purchased phone to download apps such as postmates fleet and uber eats fleet. And I'm very happy as it works great. I have such an easier time now then prior to getting this phone. The phone never crashes and is faster then my cheap phone I used to have. The battery is great. I get a long time run on the battery and carry a battery charger and can keep my phone above 70% at all times. I could not do this with a cheap phone. It takes decent photos. All in all, very happy with this purchase. A+++++++++

One of the best smartphones I have owned in some time. I went off contract a little over a year ago (tired of paying contract prices and phones) and decided to go budget phone. Best decision I have ever made. I was in the market for a new carrier and needed an unlocked phone--the Moto G6 is the phone I bought. The camera is amazing. The fit and finish of the phone is flagship beautiful. I get asked all the time what phone I have. People think its a high dollar phone. Call reception is really good. I like that it has a mic on the front face of the phone. Calls are clear and crisp. Streaming is fast no lags. The phone came with no charge on the battery and it took 1hr and 10min to charge. I have gone all day on one charge with mild to heavy use. The phone has an iPhone feel to it.

2 years ago I bought the Motorola G4 from Best Buy via eBay so I could benefit from the eBay Bucks program. Well, 2 years later and that phone has performed perfectly aside from some recent dependability issues with the charger port, which caused me to shop for a new phone. That's when I found this Motorola G6, and all my problems have disappeared. This newest model features a type C connector for charging and data transfer purposes. It has 32GB storage which is perfect. I installed a 64GB MicroSD card to store the music that I download from Google. This phone is everything I need. Priced right and ready to go right out of the box. I purchased the unlocked version so I could install a Tracfone SIM card and use it with my Tracfone account. I haven't paid a monthly cellphone bill in close to 20 years because of Tracfone's awesome coverage and pay-as-you-go features. For my needs, Tracfone is the way to go and this Motorola G6 is the best smartphone for that carrier.

I was not sure what to expect with this phone, having switched from a Samsung handset. So far, performance is good, screen is good, battery life is crazy good and camera is pretty good. My wife wanted a smaller screen (under 6 inches) so this was perfect. Only down sides so far are, no wireless charging and not as much control on storage as I'd like within Utilities>Settings>Apps. These are minor. Very happy so far.

I´m no expert on cellphones and this is only my third touchscreen smartphone, the previous ones being a Lumia 640 and a Moto G5 Plus. After reading many professional reviews, I decided it was a good idea to upgrade. And in fact, I think it is a bit better in almost every aspect than the G5. Here´s a summary Pros: -It is faster! Don´t get fooled by the spec sheet. At first sight, it looks like the processor will be slower, but it is in fact faster -It has a bigger screen and yet it is smaller overall -The camera has improved (I know some people had problems before, but I understand those were corrected after a software update) -The sound overall is a bit better, and the added Dolby process helps a lot -Construction quality remains very good Cons: -It´s lost the metal back, that was pretty cool in the G5, but the plastic used in the G6 is of a good quality anyway -Battery consumption seems to be a bit higher than in the G5, but It seems to have improved with the days and after some tweaking -The integrated mic is just normal, I think it´s never been a strong feature of moto Gs Overall -It may not be the cheapest mid-range cellphone (some BLU or HUAWEI compete in price), but pure and updated Android is a good feature. Quality construction in general.

Between 3 to 4 years ago, my wife & I bit the bullet and bought LG G4 Smart Phones because they were supposedly ‘flagship’ phones with the current Android operating system and the initial reviews had me believing that we wouldn’t need to replace them because of a promised Android update in about a year. Shame on me for being so gullible to believe that by spending more for a supposed name brand so-called “flagship”, we’d be set for 3 to 4 years. For the first year, everything seemed to be running as expected, then we both started having sporadic problems that seemed to be caused by apps. So, I became quite proficient at performing resets and then reinstalling and re-updating. Then the hardware problems started and we found how useless LG’s support is. I’d also like to mention that in over two years, our phones only received one security update and never received the “promised” Android update. So, instead of doing without our phones for a month and having to pay for LG to repair problems with “their” phones, I decided to accept the loss and buy new phones for both of us. After careful research and reading every possible review that I could find, I set our sights on two specific phones. At that point, I had my wife go to Best Buy to actually see & touch the phones to have her see which she liked better. Her choice was the same as mine; the moto g6! My wife & I are not heavy smart phone users and only have a few apps installed. And, those apps that we have, we expect to work as advertised without problems. Both my wife & I can honestly state that the moto g6, thus far, does everything we need it to, when we need it to. They say that the screen isn’t as good as the “flagship” phones but I can honestly say that I really haven’t noticed any difference. Considering the price, you’d think that isn’t a fully functional phone but you’d be wrong. In fact, I can’t see anything that my sons iPhone does that ours can’t and I believe that our call quality is just as good as his. When we made the final decision, we chose to buy from Best Buy even though we could have saved a few dollars by buying on the internet. They took the time that my wife needed to make her decision, answered all of her questions and had Black in stock (for me) and had the Oyster Blush shipped to the store in 3 days for her. Thank goodness for the moto g6 and Best Buy!

Great phone for the money...with a few minor annoyances. Great battery life (more than 2 days for me) and reasonably bright screen. There is a noticeable shutter lag on the camera but not an issue for most pictures, obviously not suitable for action shots if that is your thing. The most annoying thing is the "escalating ringtone" that is a Motorola "feature". The ringtone volume starts out low and ramps up over the first couple of rings to reach the preset volume. Most of the time this causes me to not hear the first couple of rings and miss the call. According to Motorola customer service this cannot be disabled, although I did find an app that would fix it. It also muted the volume of some notifications like the motion alerts from my Ring security cameras. Motorola really needs to make this "feature" an "opt in" rather than a hard setting that cannot be disabled.

We have had several Moto G phones, from the 1st generation to the 4th and this one is the best. The G6 has enough RAM and processing power to do all the things we need from a smart phone: email, text, podcasts, audiobooks, streaming music and videos, shopping and banking, keeping lists, tracking trips, getting maps and directions, tracking fitness activities, etc. The screen resolution is good. The size, especially the narrower width is good (can do a lot with one hand). Camera is good, though it's not great in low light. Battery life is good so far. Two nice features we did not have before: quick & reliable fingerprint recognition and wifi calling.

The Motorola Moto G6 is a very good phone with several other features that help make this handset in the $250 price range from Best Buy on October 3 is a good investment for a business person. It comes with Oreo 8 OS straight out of the box and a USB-C Turbo Charger that get me through a full day of normal usage and the ability to get a quick charge that will give the battery several hours of a charge in minutes, The Moto G6 includes a figerprint scanner to unlock the phone by the bottom of the base. It has an HD Max Vision 5 .7" Screen The phone has a rear 12mp plus 5mp camera lens. There is also a 8mp front facing camera for Selfies. The Moto G6 camera is good but it is slow to take a picture of an image sometimes. This is an excellent smartphone with all of the features at this $250 price point.
