Picture quality was not to my liking.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son had two monitors already. He wanted a third one to go in the middle so we bought this one. But when we hooked it up the quality on the screen wasn't as clear as his other two monitors. So we brought it back.

Horrible ghosting, not 1 ms response time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor has horrible ghosting. Dragging a window across my desktop ghosts the window nearly 1/8 of the width of the screen. My previous monitor was an 8 year old VA panel with a 5 ms response time with virtually no ghosting. I do not recommend getting this monitor for gaming, the ghosting makes games with dark scenes virtually unplayable. The ghosting is not as bad when there are lighter colors on the screen. On the plus side, this monitor has good colors, good viewing angles, and has 144 hz refresh rate. Unfortunately, the only way I've found to reduce the ghosting is to use an HDMI cord and limit the color range for the monitor in your display settings. This gets rid of two of the selling points of this monitor because you can only run it at 120 hz with HDMI, and the limited color range makes the screen look washed out. But unfortunately this is the only way I'm able to use the monitor for gaming. The monitor has an overdrive function that is supposed to help with ghosting, but it makes no visible difference. The freesync also stutters terribly, but I was running it with an NVIDIA graphics card so I suppose it isn't fair to judge it yet. Overall, this monitor looks great on paper with great color output, 1 ms response time, and 144 hz refresh rate, but if you plan on gaming with it, I cannot recommend this monitor at all. If you're using it as a secondary monitor, or for production work, then it's great.

Beautiful Monitor with Lofty Freesync Range
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the intention of replacing my current 60Hz IPS monitor with the Optix G24C so I could take advantage of my RX 470's Freesync capabilities. Unfortunately, the Optix's Freesync minimum is a rather high 90Hz. As capable as the RX 470 is, it can't maintain 90 frames per second at 1080p, high settings in Final Fantasy 14, the main game I play. I even tried using a program called Custom Resolution Utility to manually lower the minimum refresh rate, but anything under 80Hz would cause the screen to flicker. I returned this monitor since it wouldn't work as intended, but a curved 1080p/144Hz/VA monitor at $250 is still quite a bargain for someone who doesn't care about Freesync. The blacks and viewing angles were excellent. I watched Deathly Hallows while moving about cleaning my room and I could make out the darkest scenes easily. Color depth isn't as high though. While gaming, I did noticed slight artifacts and banding in Hitman 4's initial loading screen, neither of which occurred on my IPS monitor. Again, very slight and no where near as gratuitous as an older TN panel I occasionally use. Physically, the monitor is solidly built, especially the heavy metal stand and neck--no wobble whatsoever. No dead/stuck pixels either. Backlight bleed is also commendable. The individual LED's are noticeable from a distance (like five feet away) when blacks are displayed, but when at regular sitting distance the light disperses and reminds me of IPS glow. Really a shame the Freesync Range is such a lofty 90-144Hz. The monitor itself and the images it produces are absolutely stunning, and the curved screen makes media consumption and gaming so immersive. The blue/purple hazing of other Samsung based VA monitors isn't present either. It isn't what I'm looking for, but if Freesync isn't a concern and a 144hz VA panel sounds desirable, I have no problems recommending the G24C.

Perfect for Gaming and Streaming Videos
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This monitor is possibly the best budget gaming monitor you can get on the market around this price. It has a curved panel that you can view from any angle you can think of, and the 144hz refresh rate is truly amazing. You notice an instant difference in performance and smoothness if upgrading from a 60hz monitor. The blue light filter included along with the other preset modes are great additions to this monitors and build quality is exceptional. A aluminum stand (similar to the textures of Macbook Pros) hold the monitor up, and is screwed into the actual panel itself.

Excellent Monitor for Cheap!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently bought this FHD monitor which has a refresh rate of 144 hertz during a sale for $150 and I love it. It has great quality and when I paired it next to a cheaper ASUS monitor I got, the quality difference was unbelievable and I even returned it and bought another MSI monitor. The only problem is that it is sold out and I guess that is because this is such a good monitor. Works well with my RTX 2070.

Very Good Monitor
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will be honest with this review. The monitor itself is Amazing!!!! Once I got it running at the advertised 144 HZ I have absolutely no complaints with the monitor itself, and would definitely recommend to anyone. The build in setup with the power button is very easy to figure out and use, and the software that comes with the software is the same way. Overall, that is where the 4 stars in my review came from. Now the reason it is not 5 stars is because of how the monitor came and the headache to figure out what I needed to get 144 HZ out of my purchase. The monitor was packaged with a HDMI cable. After some research, HDMI cannot hit high enough bandwidth to produce 144 HZ, so I called MSI customer support and they told me that some monitors come with HDMI cables and some come with Display Port cables but they have no way of telling. I feel that if the monitor is rated at a specific rating the monitor should be able to perform at advertising specs out of the box. Having to go out and purchase a whole new cord just to use the MSI monitor at advertised specs dropped my review one star, otherwise I would give it a 6 if possible. Even if MSI C.S would have sent me the correct cable I would have given full support on a 5 star.

Amazing Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's really hard to explain how amazing the shift is to such a high quality monitor like this one. Going to 144 fps is such a liberating feeling, and on a 1080p curved screen it's really a spectacle. I've only had it for a a little while and people keep telling me how cool it is.
