    Best watch for the money

I had one of these for 2 years and it worked great. It finally gave up the ghost, so I did my comparisons again and came right back to this one. I just couldn't justify spending twice as much on a Garmin with features I just wasn't going to use. Pros: The watch syncs GPS fast when you run a quick sync before each run. Price is by far the best for the features. The Nike site is great at tracking your progress, viewing elevation and pace. Cons: The light is activated by touch, not by pushing a button. Many times I can't get it to come on, and in the winter it is downright unusable. If you don't sync right before a run, many times the GPS will never get a signal. I've stood in the wide open for 10 minutes with my watch still and didn't get a signal. Went back inside and did a quick sync, then I was able to get a signal within 15 seconds.

I bought this to allow me to track my miles as I worked on training for some upcoming half and full Marathons. After using it for a few workouts, I don't train without it, The good: It is nice and light and once properly fitted, doesn't shift, no matter how rough the terrain I run through. I bought the version with the shoe pod, but have as of yet to use it, A great feature is that is displays both your pace and your mileage at a glance. This is useful for ensuring that you are staying on your goals. I use it often to track when I begin to fade or how far I slow down on hills or speed up on a downhill. One of the biggest things you gain with this is that it will sync with the Nike+ website. The watch syncs, and charges, via a USB connection hidden in the band. This sync requires a PC or Mac to handle uploading the data. The sync process also updates the GPS offset data. Once you data is in Nike+, you can also crosslink you account to other tracking sites, like MapMyRun. Now some of the bad: I do a lot of my running at night. The watch will backlight, but it requires a failry healthy slap to turn it on. This can be awkward while running, as you either need to smack it off thigh , or reach across yourself. This is really geared toward being a GPS watch. The stopwatch features are kinda hard to use and are not a full featured as most other options. Not really a gating issue, but can still be annoying. Last issue is that the GPS doesn't always lock quickly. Sometimes it can take up to 5 minutes to lock enough to allow you to start your run. A few times it hasn't locked at all, even with a full clear view of the sky. In these cases, waiting 10-15 and trying again usually cleared the issues. All in all this was well work the money. It does have some flaws, but none that are so bad that would prevent you from purchasing.

My experience has been very good so far. Accurate watch and nice to have the Nike + community. Overall I think the watch price is good and does the job. I love it and gets me to run more than I have ever

This watch is easy to use and easy to read. You can change the color on the watch to make it east to read. I can't see that well so for me to say you can read it is a plus. It is light weight so not heavy on your arm. The battery life last a long time and it is rechargeable. My last gps watch used AAA batteries and was always buying new one. The software that Nike has for it is amazing. So much detail you get on each run when you link it up. From how fast your are going to shows you your route and your pace the entire run. It is a must buy.

I was misled that it would read my heart rate and record this along with pace and elevation, but it does NOT without the separate purchase of a Polar heart monitoring strap. However, Everything else about this device is Awesome! The wide, flat rubberized plastic texture makes it so comfortable you forget you're wearing it. The software is easy to use, has great data recording, and allows customization of the information fields shown on the watch-face while in use. I have also sweated profusely and used in light rain with no problems so I guess its pretty durable as well. Not cheap, but a GREAT QUALITY WATCH and I hope a longtime running companion.

Great buy! Easy to use after charging it and logging into Nike.com to set up my account. I wear it all the time and can just track my routes super easily. the usb charging port for the watch (which uploads the routes and info) is awesome and i like how it lasts for weeks if i don't use the GPS function. Great buy!

I've had my fair share of GPS Running watches. In fact this is my second Nike Watch. I mistakenly started triathon training with the last one, only to find out it is not waterproof. that aside, this is a GREAT running watch - accurate, easy to read, tap the face to light it up, an outstanding online interface - and my favorite - the battery lasts for weeks and months - not 3 days like a lot of the GPS watches out there. It works globally - I've run all over the US, Canada, Mexico, even China - and all of my runs are mapped, tracked and analyzed for speed, altitude and distance. I had a few issues with my first watch - and nike support is awesome. I highly recommend it.

I have been thinking about purchasing this watch for over two years and I wish I would have purchased it sooner. No more guessing how far you are running and trying to figure your mile splits....the watch does it all for you. It actually motivates you to run just so you can come back and analyze the information. It sometimes takes a few minutes to sync to the satellite; however, just use that time to stretch and once it locates the satellite you should be ready to go. I haven't had an opportunity to use the shoe pod sensor; however, unless you are working indoors this isn't a needed accessory. Since it was only $10 more for the combo package, I figured it may come in handy for those indoor workouts later. If you have been thinking about buying this watch.....just do it.

This watch is great. Not as odd looking as the garmen and has a great website to track runs and keep you motivated. After the first update the gps has synced quickly and battery life is sufficient. I have logged over 70 miles last month without any problems. Extremely happy with this watch.

I wake up to the watch asking me "Want to go for a run?". What a great watch. Very long battery life, internal battery charges through USB, which happens to be built into the watch band. If you run often, and then log your runs, holding a charge should be a non-issue. Also it's important to upload (and make an account) to the Nike+ website to get stats on your runs and also to update the watch. The watch failed to locate the GPS during one run, but after updating it (simply by plugging it into my computer) it worked perfectly. Some say it's a huge price for something you can use on your phone, but I personally hate bringing my phone on a run, and the price was more motivation to get as much use out of it that I could. Not to mention, it's actually just a pretty nice watch.

The watch is easy to set up and use. It is a little bulky but fits very good and I have a small wrist. It uploads your data when you connect it to your computer with USB. Battery life seems to be pretty good. Can take a little time linking to the satellite. I am happy with my purchase.

This is an excellent product. While i exercise regularly, this product motivates me to do more. I also purchased the heart rate monitor to get an exact count of calories burned and also to watch my maximum heart rate. The only issue i have is the GPS accuracy. I know the distance that i run every lap. But after the first lap, the GPS is off by a certain distance. Not sure why that happens. I also on a couple of occasions found that the battery is completely drowned inspire of the watch not being used. I make it a point to keep it connected to my computer so that i don't find it drained when i need it. Apart from those quirks, this is an excellent product. Would certainly recommend it for any one who exercises regularly especially runners.

Got this for hubby who thinks all smart electronics are very complicated, and gets easily frustrated with them. He loves this watch. He runs 1/2 and full marathons plus a bunch of 5ks and needed something to keep track of his runs, but easy enough for him to handle. We signed him up with Nikeplus, downloaded the software, plugged the watch into the laptop and voila! His runs (maps) and stats download automatically every time and lets him see a record of every mile/time whenever he wants to. Very easy to keep track of his progress.

Very accurate and effective for tracking mileage. It is easy to use. I purchased the all black one but for some reason it was $20 more than the others, which I dont understand? All in all it is good for what it is. I still feel it is somewhat over priced.

Bought this for my son who is an 8th grader and just getting started in competitive distance running. His coach recommended that he start timing his runs and keeping a runner's log. We do not have the matching step tracker fob thing yet, but maybe soon. The watch is built well, but maybe a little large/clunky for a 14-year-old. Other than that, it seems to be of good quality and fairly user-friendly. I know the tech is a few years old, but it's probably more than he needs anyway. He loves it.

I started off running with the Nike+ running app, this is a great complinet to that. I'm not sure but I don't think other apps recognize this gps watch. Despite the setup and instructions not being very detailed, It's very simple to use. After playing with it you can pretty much figure everything out about it. Like I said, I was originally using the Nike running app, it was draining the battery on my phone. I purchased this watch to keep track of my runs and it's been doing great! My only issues with the watch are sometimes it seems to take a little longer to link up with the satellites prior to a run. I've been using that time to stretch, though. The only other issue I've come across, is the watch and runs a little small. I'm on the bigger end of an average build, I have to use the very last holes on the watch band when I wear it.

My husband is a soccer referee and was looking for a watch with these features. He especially wanted the GPS in it and absolutely LOVES this watch. It does everything he wanted and more. got a great deal on it which made it even better!! He has finally found the watch that does it all after buying 4 different ones that promised the world and did not even half of that. Thanks Nike for making such an awesome watch ! Wish we would have found this one first !!
