Fridge stopped working after 14 months

I bought this fridge in February 2021 from Best Buy. It is now May 2022 and the fridge has not been reaching the set temp for the last month. My food was going bad within a week and I didn’t attribute it to the fridge until I grabbed a beer from my fridge and realized it was not as chilled as it normally is. I went through the troubleshooting process with Samsung and of course that didn’t fix the problem. Samsung says since it is outside the one year warranty it cannot replace the fridge and that I would have to pay for repairs if the problem is not the compressor. I am really disappointed in Samsung and most definitely will not be buying any Samsung products in the future. I just don’t understand how a fridge can break down in a year? Even Apple has stopped bricking their phones after one year. The freezer works fine but the ice maker doesn’t stop making ice when the container is full so I have to manually turn off the ice maker. Just a terrible product that I cannot recommend to anyone.

This refrigerator was delivered September 18, 2020. I have had issues with it ever since and can not get hold of the service department. Just last night the freezer handle fell off and I can not get it back on. I found the screwdriver that fits the tiny little bolt that appears to hold it on but it will not tighten. I have absolutely NO idea what to do next. Best Buy customer service number just has you push options on your phone with not a single person answering it. I will NEVER make a purchase from this business again.

I received the Samsung 18 cu. ft. Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator as a part of the Samsung Insiders program and I really want to love it but I just don't. It's not the refrigerators fault I just don't think it's for my family. The stainless steel is beautiful but I never knew you could not put magnets on it. The kids were so sad that they can't display their artwork on the refrigerator. The stainless steel doesn't show fingerprints but it does definitely show smudges. The counter depth is awesome, I do love the extra space in front of the refrigerator especially because there is a cabinet and counter in front of it and is the entry way for our kitchen. The bottom drawer for the freezer is kind of cool but the drawer is kind of heavy for the kids, and items get a little messy as now things are just thrown in the freezer. When opening the freezer drawer ice does fall out every once in a while. I also have to open both refrigerator doors in order to fully see everything in the freezers top storage. I do however love how many items that can fit in the freezer. The refrigerator section is an adequate amount of space but I find that we can't fit a lot of items correctly. We have to sometimes lay down some taller bottles because they don't fit anywhere standing up. The door storages are so thin and small, and very oddly placed that you have to get very strategic in everything's placement. I also had a hard time fitting large pizza boxes because in the back wall of the fridge there is a slight curvature in the center that takes away space on almost every tier. I do like how big and deep the crispers are, the kids love having more snacks readily available. The refrigerator can also get very loud at times, but only when ice is being made. I don't necessarily think this is a bad refrigerator, I just think it's not for us. I think it would make a great fridge for an apartment/condo and /or a family without children. I also believe it would make a great second fridge in the garage where you can't hear it but benefit by its abundant storage. #SamsungInsider

    Compact and Sleek in Design

    Posted .

The sleek design of the Samsung Refrigerator with its stainless steel finish is classy. The refrigerator is counter depth and compact with it being 18 cubic feet. The total refrigerator capacity is 11.8 and the freezer capacity is 5.72 cubic feet. The French doors add a rich look to the Kitchen. Open up the freezer drawer and there you find the ice maker. The led lighting is nice and bright. If you forget to close the freezer draw or refrigerator doors an alarm sounds alerting you, a wonderful feature. Inside the refrigerator you have three glass shelves with only one shelf being adjustable, a sliding draw under the top shelf which you can slide back and forth which I never saw before on any refrigerators and two crisp drawers. On the French doors you have a total of eight bins with two of the bins on the bottom larger. Open up the freezer draw and you have a slide out basket with the ice maker and plenty of storage underneath. It does take a little while to get use to a French door refrigerator. The glass shelving inside the refrigerator does not accommodate tall bottles, where as you will need to place them in the door bins along with your milk, juices and a two liter bottle of Soda. The refrigerator is best suited for a small family or perhaps in a condo or apartment. The counter depth allows a better walk flow in the Kitchen. The twin cooling maintains a better air flow and keeps food fresher. The customizable temperature zones are effective and include a power cool and power freeze. The refrigerator also has an echo button which allows you to run it more energy efficient. The refrigerator is quiet. Having a draw freezer versus a side by side I no longer worry about that roast falling out on my toes. The refrigerator and freezer work perfectly it keeps food, drinks cold and the freezer keeps everything frozen. Larger items are hard to fit in the freezer draw. The refrigerator shelves have limited adjustability and most tall items will not fit with the only solution is to lay them sideways and hope there is no spilling. You have to learn to work the doors and place taller items on the doors. By removing the top door bin you can accommodate some taller bottles. The refrigerator does accommodate a full size pizza box. Not having a water dispenser you realize how much you miss it. Overall it’s a fantastic refrigerator but too small for our family. I am reviewing the refrigerator as part of the #Samsung Insiders.

    Sleek fridge

I received a discounted price on this product via the #SamsungInsiders program. The first thing I noticed about this fridge is that there is an alarm to warn you when you leave the door open. This has already saved me a couple of times when I’d have otherwise left the door ajar and not realized. I appreciate the temperature readouts on the top. It was especially nice when we were waiting for the fridge to reach a safe temperature after delivery. One thing I wasn’t happy about is the spacing between the shelves. There is no way to arrange the shelves to stand up a 2-liter bottle. You have to take a shelf out completely, or store these items on their side or in one of the doors. I could barely get a milk jug in if I tilt it to get under the lip of the shelf. I was worried about putting my milk in the door because I’d read that the door of a refrigerator does not stay as cold. So, my husband tested the door with a thermometer and we’re happy to report that it maintained a safe temperature. The shelves are really easy to move/remove. While I wish there were more options for where to move them to, it is really easy to adjust the shelves, much easier than previous fridges I have owned. There’s also one drawer that moves side to side, so that can be nice when you need to quickly move things around to fit something in. I failed to realize that counter-depth would mean a smaller fridge. If I had a cramped kitchen, the space savings would be worth it, but in my case, I’d probably have been better off with a full size fridge in hindsight. That said, I haven’t had problems with running out of room for food, just with it being more work to arrange food to fit inside. I really like the freezer drawers in this fridge. My old fridge had one big main drawer, which was awkwardly shaped and impossible to organize, and a tiny useless drawer over that. This fridge has two large drawers, which provides more useable space. There’s an ice maker in the bottom of this fridge. I don’t use it in favor of having more space, which actually gains me a decent amount of space in this freezer. Doing the same in my old fridge would have gained me another tiny, useless drawer. I like the LED lighting in this fridge. It has a really bright and clean feel, and it’s easy to see everything in the fridge without moving things around. Overall I think this is a great fridge that looks nice, has some useful features, and is easy to organize. If I were buying again, I might get a larger model, and I’d pay more attention to the options for moving the shelves.

I received my Samsung Refrigerator about a week ago and I couldn't be more thrilled with it! The outside has a beautiful stainless steel style, its very sleek and clean looking. The inside has a bright light when you open the doors and is very clean and organized. The shelving is a little weird, you'll just have to maneuver them around until they fit your liking. The refrigerator is relatively silent, I hear it quietly hum and occasionally hear the ice drop into the tray. Overall I say buy the fridge! Its small but its a beauty!

We were ready to replace our old double door refrigerator. We only had a small space and really just wanted a worked ice maker. We liked the appeal of a French door refrigerator for the freezer space. Well this certainly delivered on everything we wanted. Installation went smoothly. Controlling the temperature was easy. It reached the recommended temperature within 3 hours and then began making ice. While ice production seemed slow at first, it is now perfect. We love how much space it gives us both in the refrigerator and the freezer. The many shelves and positions for the shelves give so many organizational options, I feel like there is no wasted space. It is so quiet and efficient. The doors and freezer draw are all easy to open and it does not feel cheap or flimsy in any way. We are definitely pleased with the Samsung brand and are enjoying or new fridge as a family.

I am loving my Samsung refrigerator. First of all I am a big fan of Samsung brand and always wished to own Samsung appliance. This French door refrigerator is stainless steel and it looks so stylish and neat. I love the 3 door design. I need not open the whole refrigerator to acces just a part. The bottom freezer is a good idea I am very happy with the space and depth . The freezer is good for us since we are just a family of 3 may be people who use more frozen food would prefer a bigger freezer space . The refrigerator has twin cooling system and you can easily set the fridge and freezer temperature. Initially it made huge sounds but got better with time. I am writing this review almost after a month as I wanted to observe how it works. I am very happy with the performance. The refrigerator has very nice compartments and some of them can be moved according to usage . And the space is sufficient for my use I don’t say that it’s a big refrigerator but it’s just sufficient . The vegetables stay crisp and clean when compared to my previous refrigerator. The food seems to stay fresh long in this refrigerator when compared to my previous one . I am overall very happy with this and I hopefully guess if it works well my opinion wouldn’t change. I recommend it . #SamsungInsiders

    Luxurious Samsung Fridge

Hi everybody, first of all, our family are fans of Samsung brand and used to it's excellent tech pieces. From vacuum robots to smartphones and laptops. We are upgrading our kitchens and this fridge was the first step. The size fits perfectly into the allocated space, standard post 2000s townhouse with mid size kitchen. The Samsung fridge was definitely a better option to our previous unit, it not only fits better into the space but provides much more room for groceries. It's much easiesr to organize your stuff in this fridge and also much easier to reach with french double doors and freezer being on the bottom. Stainless steel feels very high grade and luxurious. Controls are very well placed and don't required to reach inside the fridge and buttons are super intuitive. Twin cooling systems does awesome job to keep all the compartments at set temperature at all times without any extra running. Also unit is really quiet and only noticeable when ice maker is running. Me and my wife really enjoy having this unit and planning to upgrade the rest of the appliances to Samsung.

It's been 31 years since I purchased a refrigerator and I just can't express how happy and excited I am about my new Samsung refrigerator! I've waited a long time and it was well worth the wait. I've been buying bags of ice for the past 5 years because my ice machine in my OLD refrigerator stopped making ice. Since it still was able to dispense it, I just kept dumping bags of store-bought ice into the receptacle. It just seemed easier to buy the ice rather than make it, so that is what I did each week. But now all I do is open the draw, scoop out the ice I need, and in no time I've got myself an ICE cold drink! It's a beautiful thing! Also, I had a side-by-side refrigerator previous to my new Samsung. I didn't know how I would like the new French-door model, but I love it! There is so much more refrigerator space which is wonderful and the freezer draw is so much more conducive to holding food items then the side-by-side bin. Lastly, my old refrigerator was almond and the new Samsung is stainless so it has modernized my whole kitchen look. So, to say that I am thrilled with my new Samsung French-door refrigerator is an understatement! Thank you Samsung for making my transition from 'old' to 'new' a fantastic experience! I love my refrigerator! I love you Samsung!

I received my fridge about 3 days ago. It is absolutely beautiful and quite sleek looking. The LED lighting makes it easy to view all areas of the fridge even when there are many items inside. the ice maker works wonderfully and provides a great amount of ice. I really like the digital settings and they seem to work really well. My only concern with the fridge is the noise. It seems to be somewhat louder than my 8 year old fridge I got rid of. It is loud when the compressor kicks on and also when the ice maker is filling with water. It is not overly intrusive or distracting but it is noticeable. However, I would highly recommend the fridge. We are quite happy with the purchase!

This is a very stylish fridge. I love the exterior stainless steel finish. It looks absolutly gorgeous in my kitchen. The doors are easy to open and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the convenience of having two fridge doors. That is not something I have had before and it gives me much more access to the inside of the fridge. I like the interior finish as well. A great feature is the dinging sound that it makes if the door or freezer drawer is left open. The lighting is very nice and bright so I can see exactly what I am trying to get. I like how the shelves are adjustable on the doors as well as the shelves inside the fridge. The drawback is that it is difficult to put items on the side doors because there is really not enough space for taller bottles. I am unable to place juices in the fridge unless I lay them on it's side. This is something that I am not used to having to do, so I can't say that I like that part of it. I do like how it keeps everything chilled just as it should be. The produce drawers do a great job protecting my veggies to the level that they should be and the smaller cheese drawer is a nice addition as well. The freezer is nice and I like the ice maker. The extra drawer is great and slides smoothly so I can get my food items from the bottom. It gives a great separation from snack items to meals. Overall, it's a nice fridge for a smaller family. It adds a gorgeous touch my my kitchen and my family loves it.

Just got this frig a few days ago. Best Buy staff, delivery and communication couldn't be better. Wanted this small, 17.5 Qu Ft, white counter depth frig for a very small kitchen with white cupboards. It meets all of my priorities for the 2 of us retirees. Wish it had more places to put tall bottles, but with the tops tightly closed, they can be placed lying down. Price was a strong consideration so we gave up the water dispenser feature in favor of the ice maker. Has adjustable shelves and ample bins. Easy to organize. Is quiet and attractive.

This particular model is the only one on the market that fits the 30" counter opening and has french doors and freezer on the bottom. So my choices were nonexistent. That being said, this is an excellent new fridge. It is roomy and quiet and the freezer is big and deep with an upper drawer for smaller stuff. Good design all around. The doors take a slight effort to close and "pop" shut. This means that you cannot just nudge the fridge door with and elbow and it will swing closed. You have to actually push the doors past a resistance point to close them. But when the door shut, they shut tight. Saves energy and freshness. This is, however, a truly moot point. I will live with the doors the way they are and will grow used to them. In short, the Samsung 30" wide model is an excellent refrigerator with great technology. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

    Great Cooling System

I’m reviewing this product as part of the Samsung Insiders program. We’ve had this fridge over a month now. We realized it’s much smaller than our previous one and a lot noisier too as it would often make me look out the window to see if someone just pulled in the driveway...but that was just the compressor kicking in. It has a great cooling system because we noticed it keeps our food fresher longer. The power cool and power freeze feature is definitely a plus when we have huge amount of leftovers during the holidays and big dinners. We also like the freezer drawer with the icemaker. We have installed an external filter for the icemaker so that we’d have great tasting ice and just keep frozen fruits and ice cream beside it. We store the savory meats and make-ahead dinners in the freezer bottom shelf. Only drawback is the awkward positioning of the shelves that makes it challenging to fit in taller condiment bottles and larger jugs of drink. Solution for us was to transfer those in smaller containers and just keep them all organized in a transparent bin.
