I work alot at heights and worry about dropping my phone. With this I can take calls while on a ladder without ever having to take out my phone. It could be a little louder but all in all it serves the purpose.

Galaxy Gear - a fun but expensive toy.

I received the Galaxy Gear as a Christmas present and am very happy with it. I can quickly see what emails, phone calls, text, calendar events right on my watch. Can even send and receive calls and text. The only negative comment I might make (if I had to pay for it myself) is that it is pricey at 299.00, but I imagine that the price will start dropping to a more reasonable price in the coming months. Overall very satisfied.

Versatile Smartwatch that goes great with a galaxy

This is my first smart watch. I am using it with my Galaxy Note 3 on android 4.4 (KitKat). I use it to tell time, look at texts I get without taking my phone out of my pocket, answer phone calls, screen calls, pedometer for all day. It also comes with calendar appointment, camera, weather features. I found this device most useful when driving or doing anything else that requires my hands to be doing something else. It allows me to not search for my phone and unlock it just to read a message. The watch also surprised me that it went along with many of my outfits; business, casual, and going out clubbing clothes. I do catch myself getting worried that I'm going to scuff or scratch the screen every now and then. Also its battery needs to be recharged every day if you don't turn it off at night, 2 days if you do. I have small wrists and the watch band fit me well with another notch for even tinier people.

Great conversation starter which helps get me more business. So convenient. I hate undoing my seat belt to answer my phone, now I don't have to undo the seat belt. The pedometer feature resets every day and so I know how much more walking I have to do. People ask me how much it cost, so Dick Tracy, where did you get it. I didn't like wearing a watch now I do. My 8 and 9 year old Sunday School class always want me to take their pictures and talk on the watch.

    First smartwatch by Samsung

At first I was a little disappointed , not many things to make it useful, but now, with the latest updates the notifications are way better and plenty of supported apps to be notified on your smartwatch. The best part is that you have android as the operating system, so if you are familiar with the endless things you can do to android or you want to learn, you are going to love it. the camera is a great tool, every time I need to write something and I don't have a pen I'm 1 swipe away to take a picture of whatever it is I need to remember. The speaker and microphone built in the smartwatch are useful too, specially if you don't have bluetooth. If you exercise a lot, the smartwatch works as a media controller for play , pause, red and fwd. so far it's great with Pandora and stitcher and obviously the music app. FYI you can sync the smartwatch to an iPhone ( with a custom android OS ) but , just for very basic stuff.

    Great product for bragging rights...

So this is not at all a bad product. I just find very little use for it. When buying something like this, you generally expect it to solve some issue(s). This watch simply adds to current issues with cell phones use. Particularly while driving, you have to talk into the microphone which is on the upper part of the watch near the face and listen to the speaker which is on the band of the watch on the bottom of the wrist. This causes you to constantly supinate your wrist and arm to talk and listen. This goes for phone calls and the use of S Voice. This is a big headache. Same thing if you work out in the gym or run outside for exercise , the location of the microphone and speaker gives this watch little if any use during these activities. Though the pedometer app could be of some use in this vein, Its something that is already on the Galaxy S4 and does the same thing. Furthermore, gadgets like the FitBit and Jawbone UP are cheaper and are just as good or better for this sort of use. Apps like messaging & email seem to only work with the stock apps, so if you use third party messaging apps like GoSMS or Outlook, then you wont get message notifications on the watch. You could get a high quality Blutooth device for half the price of this watch that does 90% of what this watch can do, with more ease of use. Was thinking of taking mine back for a refund, but I waited too long and missed the return deadline. Coming from a person who is high into electronics I'd say that overall, this is not a bad product in terms of quality, but it is overpriced and not very useful in my opinion. I do realize that this watch is still in its infancy stage and will likely & hopefully get better over time. As of now, It is simply a cool gadget to have to brag about to your friends. Hopefully Google Glass will redeem the short comings of this watch when it is released.

I purchased this device on BBY's flash sale when select colors were 50% off (149.99) and I couldn't be happier with my purchase! I love the easy set up and constant connection with my device, I love that I can see my notifications for FB, Twitter, Gmail, SMS, etc. on my wrist instead of opening my phone and I love the great battery life that it has. My first gripe is the lack of application support still. It is a pain to wash hands multiple times throughout the day because I have to push the watch up my arm a bit before washing and hope that I don't get it wet. My second gripe is the lack of volume when on phone calls. I cannot hear people on the speaker unless I put it right up to my ear, which is inconvenient and I may as well use my phone for it instead. I find myself using this watch for more of a watch and notification assistant than a Bluetooth "headset" device. Overall it is a great first generation product and I look forward to the Gear 2 and Gear Fit!

I have enjoyed this item so much it helps a lot when you don't have to dig your phone out of your pocket.I walk daily with two dogs and it is nice to be able to answer calls and respond to texts without reaching for the phone. Calls come through clear and the voice features including text work very well.

Take this from someone who's really an Apple product fan. The Galaxy gear is great; its what the future was supposed to be about; futuristic, convenience and easy. Now; the negative reviews and comments are about the price; and Samsung select exclusively. Well; its too bad that stigma seems to echo mainly with the Android consumers as most Android handsets are offered at a substantial reduced cost. And on the Google play store most apps are offered for free. And please try not to get mad at me for telling the truth; most people don't want to pay for anything when compared to their phones if they could get it for free. I have what i consider a working person's watch collection starting upwards of $600. That just tells time. So to have one that does that and more of decent quality is not so expensive.

I purchased the watch about a month ago and love it. While I am in a meeting if someone calls or sends a txt it is easy to just glance down at the watch to see if it is important. I no longer have to dig in my pocket to see if I need to take a call. This has been a great watch and I would buy it again in a heart beat.

I am so happy I got this awesome device. The pedometer has helped me lose 15 pounds in a month. The ability to make and take calls from the watch is very useful. The camera takes surprisingly good pictures. I am very glad to have this watch and highly recommend it. I am using it with the Samsung Galaxy S3.

This is great companion for the S4 or Note3. You can get all your notifications on the watch and then determine if you need to get the phone out to view/respond. You can also respond to text messages with either an Svoice response or a pre-determined text. Calls can be made/received from the watch with ease. Custom watch faces can be made with various apps. One nice feature is when the watch and phone are separated (approx 30 feet) the phone and watch will lock down with the pattern screen. Otherwise the simple swipe unlock screen is presented on the phone. I am sure most will dismiss this watch as a novelty/gadget, and balk at the price, but if you are into watches and gadgets this is a watch to own.

I am a real estate agent and this watch is perfect for my professional. I no longer have to take my phone out to read incoming messages or see who's calling while I am with a customer (or driving). Just a turn of the wrist and viola!! I was hesitated to either get the pebble or this watch. Pebble has developers making software for it while Samsung I am pretty much stuck with what comes with the package. Battery life can be improved. You can use it throughout the day and it still shows 50% of battery charge left. However, the reminding 50% of battery will probably burn out in the next 2 or 3 hour. A little misleading perhaps. Overall I am happy with this "orange" watch.

I bought this when the price was at 150.00. I get a lot of email and texts for work, and this has eliminated the need for me to take my phone out of my pocket to see if i need to respond to issues right away or not. Also my phone battery lasts longer, because i am not consistently turning it on. The best feature is the camera, which when my son and i are at the park or event i can take in the moment photos. Since this is the first edition phone it is limited in some areas, but has been durable and works well.

My wife loves this new watch; it was the best nonevent gift that I have surprised her with in a long time. It’s convenient and functional for phone functions, and stylish. Having a Samsung Rep in the store has been great for any questions that she may have.

I have not used a watch in over 20 years so it took about a day to get use to it. Once I started checking e mail, text and answering phone calls I was hooked. The only problems I have with it is that it is not waterproof and the battery life. I can get 2 days out of the battery if it is turned off at night and I take charger to work just in case. Takes about one and a half hour to charge from 15% to 100%.
