I got this phone because I didn't want to spend another $300 for the s5. They are so similar its hard to tell the difference. Good battery life, beautiful screen, and fast. They have updated these to android 4.4.2 so its the same op system as the S5.

This phone has been great so far. It's fast with room for many apps to run without slowing the phone down. Being able to talk on the phone while running an app is an extremely nice touch! It allows for adjustment of screen touch sensitivity, as well as "air touch" - which was a nice surprise. It has pretty good speakers for a phone. I love the "smart screen" for reading without having to touch the screen to keep It back lit. The camera is also outstanding! (I've attached a picture to show as an example.) However -- although I gave it 5 stars, I hesitated a bit to do so because in my experience with this phone, the hours that the battery lasts has been far less than advertised. But overall, I would definitely recommend this phone, as it truly runs well and has great features!

I upgraded to this phone from an iPhone 4s and so far am happy with it. My favorite things about it are: - By far the camera on this phone is awesome. If used in good lighting you can get some great pictures, primarily close-ups with a lot of depth of field. (See flower image) - It is highly customizable if you take the time to do it. - The settings are easy to access to adjust the additional features, brightness, wifi, etc. - The widgets on Android are pretty cool after coming from iphone.

I really like the idea of Smart Pause, which halts a video you're watching when your eyes dart away, then resumes when you start paying attention again. Smart Pause was more responsive and easier to control than the scrolling, which experienced some abrupt motions and a short lag time. While you can make googly eyes at the GS4, most gestures are still reserved for your fingertips. Hovering features known as Air View make their way from the stylus-centric Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet to the Galaxy S4, but replace the stylus with your digit. Hover your finger and you can preview a video clip or image from the photo gallery, glance at browser tab thumbnails, find your place on a video timeline, and check out an e-mail. You'll also be able to magnify calendar events and get a closer look in speed dial. As I mentioned above, Flipboard has built a customized app to work with Air View that lets you hover over a tile to see which articles lie beneath.

This phone is great. I love how clear the video and pictures are. The speed is amazing as well. It might be confusing at first on how to use all the features but once learned they are great.

i came from the SPRINT EVO. yep! the 1st one. wasnt gonna upgrade but at 199.99 why not! it was time for a change. ive notice when i have my phone out in public people tend to watch me when im playing or texting on my phone, i guess they notice the large screen. but the battery life if the best ive every had, plus its charges extremely fast. i talk about 3 to 5,000 mins and 3 to 5,000 texts a month. love the multi task function. i can watch movies and text, do this and do that. love the camera, and video, i dont have to carry my nikon camera along as much to get a good picture. i usually dont review but this phone here needed a good review. its worth every penny. CONS: is i dropped more calls and tend to roam more. maybe if i call sprint it could get resolved. but in walmart nope cant talk, some dollar general stores to name a few. i think its the aluminum roofing interfering with my calls, thats it.

I like this phone! One of my main reasons for getting it was panorama mode (cha-ching!) and for the touch screen and for the excellent camera and different modes you could shoot in. I like to take pictures (if you can't already tell hah!) so it was important to have a good camera. This actually replaced my point-and-shoot (well, and I don't have any batteries for it so) and I use it all the time. One thing I don't like about this phone is how much data it holds. I take lots of pictures (I have over 1,600 on my phone currently, and that is a rough estimate) and now, with no extra micro SD card, it counts down my pictures. But that's mainly my fault for not getting a 64 gig SD card. If you take a lot of pictures or instagram a lot or whatever your thing is, you might want to consider that. (And btw, if you are between this one and the s5, the s5 camera can get a good close up of a hornet's back, so close that you can actually see the little hairs on it's back so yes, it probably does have a better camera!) I also like that fact that it has a little widget called 'Assistive Light' and that can be almost immediately pushed for a flash light. Neat idea there. Swype is yourr friend as well if you don't like traditional typing as found on iPad's, iProducts in general and some other electronics. You just swipe over the letters, and bam, you have a text. You can also put your home address into the phone and immediately tell sVoice or whatever she calls herself and say, 'Go home' and it will immediately start gps'ing you through traffic to get to your house. I think that's super cool! Especially if you are in the middle of nowhere. Or in the middle of somewhere... anyways. I do recommend getting an otterbox for this so you will not have to pay $100 every single time your screen falls two feet. Just a little piece of advice! The extra $30 or whatever for an otterbox is worth it. (I think the s5 is more durable in that area.) And I love the gif feature (or animated photo!) Anyways, this phone has tons of amazing features that I don't always use, but I do recommend it, especially if you have someone who isn't too sure with touch screens as Swype helps. And sVoice. I am also attaching some photos taken with my s4.

First of all, I really like this phone, I use to have a iPhone 4s, I felt like I was limited to do what I wanted to do, search the web and be on the phone, write a memo while reading. Things I couldn't do with iPhone, I got to do with the Samsung Galaxy S4, It's great overall, i was really happy when I go the phone and had all the features that I wanted. First the color, Blue Artic, its really cool how the color shines through the sun, the camera that allows me to take video and pictures AT THE SAME TIME, awesome! The sound quality when recording a video or listening to Spotify, its great when you plug the aux cable into your car and the phone signals you that its dangerous listening to high volume, its like the phone cares and looks out for you. It's the little things that count and makes me want to share how great this phone is with everyone. Oh, I almost forgot, having the ability to have 17 and more web browser pages open (not like the iPhone where it was only 8) and having music playing, while using maps, while downloading files and uploading pictures all at the same time and the phone doesn't slow down and the battery life still contains it self, there's time I don't charge the phone for 2 full (48hrs) days. Super Awesome! The other thing I like is that I don't have expensive charger cables, it uses USB to Micro USB, easy, simple; so if you loose your cable, you can go and purchase any USB to Mirco USB cable, not your expensive charger cable. I can go on and on, simply its a great phone overall.

I decided to get this phone over the HTC One (which a friend of mine recommended). I have no regrets. This phone is loaded with features that some might find gimmicky but I have found to be quite useful, especially if you do as much multitasking as I do. It also performs every function very fast and smoothly. The camera also has some great features and the picture and video quality are really good even in low light. The battery life is very good and I usually get at least half a day out of it with pretty regular use. I compared it head-to-head with my friend's HTC and IPhone and they only thing they had over the Samsung was the build quality (which is a little overblown in my opinion). Even my friends had to admit that thier phones had no meaningful advantage over the Samsung Galaxy S4 and lack many of the features that it offers. But to each his own. If your like me and value actual performance and functionality over a bunch of irrelevant tech talk then you'll love this phone. Like I said...I have no regrets.

Technology has finally caught up with my expectations with the Samsung Galaxy S4. This is the phone I thought I was going to get many years ago with the Instinct. Great size 5 inch diagonal screen. Not too big, not too small. I liked the Note II size even more for viewing movies, but realistically wouldn't be comfortable in my pocket. Getting the right protect case was important. I ended up with the Speck case (was $10 on clearance) - it added some depth to the phone like it is better protected (felt too skinny with the rocket fish case and that one didn't fit right either). Has great features - check them out online. It's fast. 4G LTE is fast and WAP is as well. 4G LTE is available where I live - check out Sprint site for availability (Sprint needs to add more areas quicker). Sprint has unlimited everything - main reason with them instead of Verizon or AT&T. Takes good pictures. Fast Internet. Fast Quad core processor. Bigger battery that previous models - finally lasts all day without running out of battery! Came with 16GB - which is what I had made my other one using SD card.

I am not a big Apple-product fan but looking for a lot of the same qualities as the iPhone. The camera is really good, the app selection is excellent, and the battery life is great (I don't keep a lot of things running in the background). Since I hit the mid-40 age range, this phone is very large and easy to see everything. I haven't explored everything it does, but really pleased with what I do know.

Overall, this is a really good phone, and that's sayin a lot comin from me as I have bad luck with phones. The size is a bit big but still fits in my back pocket even with an otter case on it. The battery lasts a good while considering I listen to music for 8 hrs straight and get on Facebook and the internet often in that same 8 hrs. The camera has 4x zoom and you can edit the picture. I can talk on the phone and use the internet, camera, or text with ease, something I couldn't really do with my old phone.

Good upgrade from S3 - no need to go to S5

We've had S3's in the family for years. I didn't think the S4 would be much different, but when I had the option to upgrade for $1 I figured it couldn't hurt. Well, Spark is the biggest difference. On the same towers where I got about 12-15Mb download speed with the S4 I now get 30-38Mb. The camera is also better, and the battery life difference is incredible. On a couple of subjective trials, it also seems to have a better phone in poor-signal areas than the iPhone 4 or 5. I can stream radio with 3G and one bar at work and a worker next to me with an iPhone 5 can't even make a phone call, also on CDMA. I've also compared to the Galaxy S5, and don't see a reason to upgrade - the screen is plenty big for me, and I don't care about the fingerprint sensor. I just wish Samsung would put a front-facing speaker on their phones...

Despite the humorous title, I'm completely serious about this phone being the bee's knees. My first Galaxy was the S2 and then I finally upgraded to the S4. (I know, I'm behind in the Galaxy-Land. Sorry, S5, but I'm ballin' on a budget.) I really loved the fact that the Best Buy Mobile center price-matched online with store. The actual Best Buy wanted to charge the 50 bucks for my upgrade. I ended up getting my S4 for 1$. Anyways, back to the phone... Ah! Yes... So, I'm very happy with it. The camera is phenomenal. I love the fact that if I have my hands full and my overly attached mother calls, I can just say, "Answer" and then, "Speaker" and boom, didn't have to drop anything for anyone! The screen size is great and the quality makes me so happy. The speakers are amazingggggg as well. Super loud! GET THIS PHONE!

I'm Finally Happy with a Sprint Phone

I've had Sprint for almost 2 years. My first phone was a Motorola Photon 4G and it was awful! I tried to return it but they convinced me to keep it. I couldn't wait to upgrade. I use my phone for calling, texting, emailing, gaming, internet use, making notes to remember things (with or without reminders), as a password keeper, as a calendar, as an mp3 player, as a camera, as an alarm, as a flashlight, to check the weather and to get direction and traffic info. (That's all I can come up with for right now.) The Samsung so far has been much better than the Motorola Photon. The battery life is better, the email actually works, I don't have to download a ton of apps just to make it work the way I want to, the cell service has better, and it's faster. It doesn't take forever to open games or apps like my last phone or to switch from one thing to another. I like the picture gallery app it has and the camera is pretty cool. I ended up getting it for $50 so I really think it was worth it. The only issue I've had was that Samsung did some update and it reverted back to the way it was when it was new and all my customization was gone. But I figured it out and all was good. It has a lot of options for customizing as well, which I love. I'm still getting used to the keyboard as it's pretty different than what I'm accustomed to but it's fine. I liked my "user dictionary" on my old phone and this one doesn't seem to have one which is a minuscule negative. Oh and the phone being large is a negative and positive! It's great to look at and whatnot but not very pocket, purse or single handed use friendly since it's so large. (If you have larger hands it's probably fine.) I bought an Otter Box case and it's been in it since I bought it. The screens crack people so protect your phone. Overall, I like this phone immensely more than my last phone and I would totally recommend it.

Great camera that shoots excellent pictures in a variety of settings which after picture is taken, can be chosen which is the best. Block noise so you can listen to conversations without walking out of the noisy place. Battery life is awesome, lasts day and a half heavily using the phone so you don't have to carry your charger around all the time. Multitasking is fast and accurate, no freeze ups.

Although it is a little larger than I would normally like, I would not trade a millimeter in size for the gains in battery life and speed and ease of use, picture quality, features etc. This is by FAR the best smart phone that I have ever used. I had gone in expecting to purchase the S 3, but after reviewing the features, decided to spend the extra and step up to the 4. I'm glad I did!

Pro: long battery life, great camera, fast. Con: Took away functions I used (like the "Recent" option when texting someone you recently texted; also can't send a photo from the text window.). Added dumb, complicated functions (like the postage stamp window on the camera where you can add yourself to a group photo. DUMB.) Very cheapo case, doesn't feel like a quality product. Also did not come with an SD card, had to buy it separately. DUMB.
