Replaced Insignia 1080p 40 inch - MUCH BETTER!

First off, Insignia are phenomenal TV's for the price so don't let this review turn you away from them. However, I want extremely pure, crisp, and bright picture at the lowest cost possible. I had the Insignia counterpart TV to this (just 40 inch) and noticed less "pop" in the image than I was hoping. This is less noticeable in store but can be seen in side by side comparison. I sold the Insignia and purchased this Sharp. I have used it for around 6 months and am INCREDIBLY happy. The picture is great. Crisp, Good contrast, fast picture processing, accurate colors etc. The sound is good for the price.

This is an amazing TV for the money! I bought for 329.00 on sale, $150 off. Picture is way better than old TV. I only have 1/4" left on the side of my armoire but I made it fit. My kids broke my previous insignia 39" and it had been my first flat panel TV. We waited a year and bought this one 2 weeks ago. It's amazing quality at 1080p and 120mhz its far superior to the sonys and anything else remotely in the price range. This is a $500 tv for much lower price. Sound is decent though I'm not sure about the stand as it seems mostly plastic but seems fine anyhow. Has 3 HDMI which is awesome for me to hook up my laptop etc into there. Super good bang for your buck and the refresh rate makes it elite at this level.

Picture is very sharp and the TV has great sound. Very easy setup. Best Buy had the best price available, including the big internet sites. I would highly recommend this TV.

I delayed until now to get a digital TV because my old analog TV still works (with a converter box). I got the new TV to play Blue-Ray DVDs with the DVD player I bought last year. The TV was easy to mount on its base and set up. I did not need to buy a wall mount. The picture is more clear than I dreamed possible. I do not pay for cable or subscription services but get 20 local TV stations clearly. This is by far the best TV reception I have had. The Blue-Rays look good too.

We are very happy with our Sharp 42" HDTV- the picture quality is very good, the sound is better than I expected and the connectivity (DVD, Gaming etc) is more than sufficient for our needs. The price was right with the 120Hz that we were looking for.

I am a senior citizen thus my vision and hearing are not the same as in my younth. I sit about 18 ft. from the TV. The sound is loud enough and quality is good. Picture is clearer than my previous TV, reminds me of a video from a camcorder, as colors are brighter and crisper. I have not integrated the controllers for both the Cable box and the TV, which a bit of an inconvenience. I also bought the HDMI Cable, but found the Cable Box did not have a socket for HDMI. I don't really want to pay an extra $5 - $10 per month for a Cable Box upgrade. Perhaps the best thing is being able to read the text and captions that accompany news and captioned movies. I have not added any equipment beyond the Cable Box. Since I usually have my laptop on while I am relaxing, a SMART tv isn't needed, and I seldom watch NETFLIX or other internet sourced video.

Sharp 42" is a really nice non smart TV. I paid $316 for this TV on Black Friday online. So that means after all the crazy Black Friday shopper went home I came out and pick the TV up with no hassle at all. I got it for my bedroom, it has a great picture on regular non HD box cable. But when you have blue ray player connected too it, the picture is amazing! It has 3 HDMI jacks and 1 USB port. So you can add other features to make it a smart TV. Great price for its size.

This is one of the best TV for HD LED tv. Got two times , one older model and the second time this model. Have been using Sharp TV for nearly 4 years now and clarity and the quality of the picture is too good.

This set is great especially for the price I purchased it at during the holidays. The picture quality is above average but the features are lacking. I knew this coming into the purchase and at this price point I was not looking for "extras." Buying a no nonsense set like this without the "smart" saved me a couple hundred dollars compared to other brands and I got a solid picture quality. This works perfect with the addition of a Roku or gaming console that adds "smart" features that are leaps and bounds above baked in smart television sets unless you buy top dollar models with quad core processors.

I purchased this TV last month and so far I have nothing bad to say about it. The picture and sound quality is great! The set up is simple - attach the base with the 4 included screws, plug it in, connect the cables, enter the date and time, and you're done. It's so light weight that just about anyone can lift and move it with ease. I strongly suggest using an hdmi cord! I have an hdmi and a regular coax connected from my cable box to the tv and using the hdmi input has much better picture quality than the regular cable.

This is just a basic tv, not smart, not huge. At 42 inches it isn't big by today's standards but this size at a 1080p resolution makes it look pretty sharp. The colors, picture quality and speed of start up are all good.

Nice 1080 HDTV at a very reasonable price point. No frills, not smart, but excellent blacks, accurate color and good contrast. Best sound I've heard at this price point in the LED format (super thin, super light), but if you need better than mediocre audio you will need a sound bar or other audio support, which is not the least bit unexpected with this format. Overall very pleased with its performance.

Excellent picture, easy to set up, weights under 20 lbs so easy to move around and handle. The price is less than 1/2 the price of one smart tv and you'll get just as good a picture as most and better than some. I use mine as the main tv but for the price you could stock up several for use in a guest room, bedroom, office or playroom.

I was looking for a flat screen for the Master bedroom. My old TV was 32" and only 720p. This unit was a great price and had good reviews. It was lighter than my old 32" unit due to thin design. That allowed me to use my old wall mount which fit even though it was a bigger TV. I needed a TV with at least 3 HDMI inputs and this one has it. Works great. Looks great. Definitely recommend.

This was one of my top picks for the price. I got mine for $299. The picture is great and the so is the sound. For some reason on some of the specs the sound is listed at 2 or 3 watts? which appears to be wrong, I never go above a 1/4 of the sound level. It seems like it is 10 or 12 watts. We decided we didn't need a smart tv, we have computers if needed so this was perfect for us.

Best clarity of all the sets in the price range. Of course it helps when you can compare them in the store. Easy to operate as well. Best "bang for the buck" in my opinion.

I have had this Sharp TV for approximately one month and so far I really LOVE it! The picture quality is awesome and the set-up--which I was quite concerned about yet determined to do it myself--was EXTREMELY easy as the TV had a step-by-step on-screen setup as well as pictures color detail instruction manual for those of us who are not "techies" Anyway, the sound quality is awesome as well and I am happy with this purchase and hope to have this TV for a very long time.
