Outstanding keyboard but has some flaws
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The apex pro tkl is a very nice keyboard. Has a amazing software, the switches feels like butter. The stock keycaps are trash, would recommending upgrading to some pudding keycaps. It sucks how my space bar and left shift got stuck, I fixed this by using a screwdriver and breaking the top where the light would go. This keyboard is amazing for gaming, and is a great keyboard. The price on this keyboard is not really worth it, it do come with a wrist rest but it isn’t too comfortable for me. The stabs are the best but I would expect it not to be the best since it’s a stock keyboard.

Special, almost perfect.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have used a variety of mechanical keyboards. Previous keyboard is a razer huntsman optical linear. While the huntsman is a very fast keyboard and is amazing for gaming. However, I was making a ton of typos while typing, not to mention the ultra light actuation is not ideal for every type of games. I almost went with a full custom keyboard in hope to resolve this issue but was discouraged by the lack of software refinement. I had bad experience with steelseries mice in the past (mostly software side), but this keyboard completely changes my impression. The build quality is more solid than the razer huntsman, the keycaps are holding up well, wrist pad feels great and this keyboard has the highest tint angle compare to the competition (which I like). The star of the show is the omni point switches, I can set my WASD and shift key to short actuation for snappy action, and my number keys to normal actuation to prevent accidental weapon switch. The omni point switches are got to be the smoothest key switches out of all gaming keyboards and it also makes a very nice typing sound similar to a custom keyboard. I was honestly surprised by this, now I know why custom keyboards enthusiasts like to lube their switches. Also another big point is this keyboard is in standard bottom row unlike razer and corsair. I know the keycaps are ABS, but since it's standard bottom row, getting custom keycaps won't be an issue. The RGB works better in ABS keycaps than PBT keycaps in case you don't know. The only few down side of this keyboard are the switches have more wobble than the razer huntsman, and the RBG customization is better in the razar app. I don't care much for the little LED screen but for the life of me I don't understand why steelseries doesn't include a function to show a clock.

Great keyboard with some caveats
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The on-the-fly capability of adjusting the actuation point of the switches was the selling point of this particular keyboard. It is enjoyable to be able to set different keys for different games and programs. Some keys in some keys a shorter or longer stroke to activate the key, while general productivity may benefit from a longer actuation to try to prevent some typos. It is rather pricey compared to the few other keyboards available with the same type of switch, just not adjustable. Would be nice to get the better keycaps included for the price. The original keycaps started to shine in light usage within two hours before going to a different store the next morning for the PBT Doubleshot keycaps. Sometimes the full size keyboard has shown up at a substantial discount. If one does not mind a full size keyboard it would certainly be worth a look if it is on sale. Needed to go into Windows settings to disable some USB sleep settings to be able to more consistently have the keyboard working when waking the computer from sleep. Had not had to do that on previous keyboards. There are two larger cons with this keyboard. First, Steelseries Engine is becoming as bloated as some other company's software. Years ago used a Steelseries Sensei and very much liked the simplicity of Engine. This new Steelseries GG adds features that will not be used for sakes of being able to claim to offer them. Second, the OmniPoint switches are not used on every key giving some keys a very different feel. Would prefer even a slightly higher price and have the same switch for every key even the ones Steelseries must deem not used as much.

Fantastic keyboard - wheel needs help
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The keyboard is really well built and has been great for office/gaming use. On board memory for actuation is fantastic and being able to change lighting right on the keyboard eliminates the need for software. My biggest drawback is how terrible the rolling wheel is. Navigating onboard menus, adjusting volume, muting all go through the scroll wheel and it is truly awful. If I try to turn the volume down, I roll the wheel and it will typically flutter between my current volume and slightly louder. It also makes navigating the onboard menus really annoying.

Almost perfect
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Three things would make this keyboard perfect, 1. Come standard with pbt key caps, 2. Get rid of that horrible cable and use a detachable usb c instead, 3. Install some silicon dampening or foam to get rid of that horrible pinging sound. The software could use a few more features such as layering effects better but not quite necessary. Ultimately that pinging sound from every keystroke was going to drive me mad.

A Must have!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.By far one of the most sturdy keyboards i have owned in a long time! The OLED display in mine had some burn-in upon turning on hence the 4-star review. The keys are smooth and the wrist rest is perfect for me, being I do not like anything too soft

5/5 hardware, 3/5 software
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The good: Hardware. This is the nicest keyboard I have ever played on. I have used Razer keyboards in the past, but the omnipoint switches made me move over to Steelseries in addition to using their Rival 600 mouse. This keyboard has a stellar feel, desk presence, and form factor. I got the 10 keyless for more desk space and it was 100% worth it. The not so good: Steelseries Engine 3. Honestly, there is no great software for customizing keyboards and the companion software for this keyboard is no different. It is clunky at times and not very intuitive in terms of profile customization. You have to be very careful when selecting keys to change color/actuation point of not to accidentally overwrite something. Very annoying, but better than Razer software for sure. If it is between this and any razer product, choose this!

Great keyboard non detachable cable
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this keyboard and i had another one for a few years, it was a tkl with a metal frame and it had a detachable cable, but overall this keyboard is fantastic. Heavy, wires are thick even come with a usb port so 10/10 would recommend

Excellent Keyboard
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been using this keyboard for a couple of months now, and I love the keys and the switches. They are quiet and smooth since the actual sensor is magnetic. A couple things that could probably use a little work are the software, and the wrist rest. The software is fairly intuitive, but compared to Razer's Synapse it was a little less friendly in setting up layers and lighting effects. The wrist wrest could stand to sit a little higher as well. I felt like I was having to arch my fingers too much and it caused a little strain in my hand. Overall, this is a solid keyboard and has a ton of super nice features.

Solid value & good warranty but cheap plastic keys
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This kb is a solid value and if I give it 4.5/5 stars. I like the sound when striking the keys and the backlighting is easily changable. The only reason why it's not getting 5 stars is because of the keys. I've purchased this 8 months ago and the plastic keys are starting to pop off and one even broke off. I thought with a price of almost $200, this would be of better quality. Luckily this is still under manufacturer's warranty. I've contacted Steelcase and they are providing and entire set of new keys, which is really nice-- but then I was thinking, was this expected because they knew the plastic keys would break off easily?

Good keyboard, price for flashy additions.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the keyboard and feel of the switches, however tiny oled seems pretty pointless and can't wait for keyboards to be offered with no rgb for a lower price point. Good feel and adjustable switches make it feel great while gaming, rest is not needed.

This is a great keyboard for any gamer.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this keyboard and every feature that it has on it. The only thing I would say about this keyboard that I don't like is that it is ABS keycaps that feel very cheap. For an almost $200 keyboard it should come with PBT doubleshot keycaps since that is the new wave of keycaps. Luckily I had some pudding keycaps stored away that I took out and put on them now making the keycaps feel much more premium. Overall, this is a great keyboard and the switches feel great. Another thing I wish they did was put these omni point switches on the whole keyboard and not just the 60% of the keyboard. I know SteelSeries can do better so that is why I'm giving this a 4/5 on my review.

F key broke
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great keyboard the only reason it’s not a 5 star is the f key is broken and occasionally just spams the input until you unplug it and plug it back in

Not worth the price, build a custom instead
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mainly priced high for the gimmick features in my opinion. The abs keycaps for the price point are trash since you’ll end up swapping to double shots to avoid greasy caps. The shift and bigger buttons rattle and feel way stiffer than the rest of the keys and it’s annoying if you play FPS games a lot. The actuation changing system and led panel are pretty cool but I don’t think it’s worth it and still prefer a nice custom board with amazing key feeling and nice stab potential that feel buttery smooth when gaming and typing no matter what key you press.
