Other than key board construction quality; touch; and some key physical sizes/locations which I do not prefer, the Toshiba Satellite performs superb with Quad processor. It performs flawlessly and comes with most of the basic hardwares. Speaker sound quality can be better. Overall, this machine is one of the top cost-performers compared to others.

The Toshiba Satellite Laptop is a great computer for it's price. It's fast, has windows 8 installed. Has a good amount of memory for what I use the laptop for, which is mostly internet, and various applications. The speakers suck, sounds canned. It's like they took speakers from your ear buds and placed them in here. Part of the keyboard feels a bit flimsy, like you may break it. But you get used to that

I have enjoyed the display, the performance and the convenience of using my Toshiba laptop computer. The keyboard is easy to the touch and easy to type. The screen is bright and very sharp. The speed and efficiency is a pleasant surprise to me. The price is an excellent value for the quality of this product. I would recommend this laptop highly to my friends and family.

Pretty good computer for what you are paying for. Not a big fan of Windows 8, it is not user friendly. Has decent battery life, good display, but seems a little bulky. It loads programs quickly and has a lot of storage space. If you leave the computer on for too long, the touch pad quits working and it does not have the best sound quality.

Great computer and great price. Disclaimer: I have owned the computer for three weeks and so far I have enjoyed my new computer. The set up is easy. The AMD A8 processor is surprisingly fast (I have previously owned Intel processors). The keyboard and keypad is very responsive. I had read horrible reviews about Windows 8, however I have found Windows 8 easily navigated and efficient. The graphics are crisp and clear. The battery life is ok, not great, but ok (I think I get about 4.2 hours of battery life with moderate use). The only think I can think of that I was not impressed with, is the sound. The sound in a word sucks, however if you use ear buds or ear phones the sound is good. Overall I am very happy with this computer and to be honest I would have been happy paying an additional $100.00 to $150.00 for this computer.

I have been mostly satisfied with my purchase of a Toshiba laptop so far. I was looking for a decent laptop for basic home use that wouldn't be too expensive. One thing that is hard to get used to is that the touch pad is super sensitive and the right & left mouse keys seem kind of cheap compared to our other Toshiba laptop. Everyone in my family who has used this laptop has complained about it. But overall it's been a good computer for a good price. The one thing that would make this laptop 100% better would be if it came with Windows 7 instead of 8. I'm not a fan.

This laptop is a good laptop for a student or a business person looking run Office and do email. You will not run high end graphic intensive programs with this. The only negatives I found is Windows 8. This operating system would be great on a tablet or other touch screen device but is very difficult to navigate with a mouse. This laptop is cheap enough that you could buy it, wipe it and install a different operating system. The other issue is the onboard speakers are lousy.

Fast. Supports Old Standards like Firefox well. Tile system like wandering in a mall or Cosco, but easy to bypass completely. Touchpad only real tech weakness. Speakers poor, but sound to external speakers good.

Looking for a i3 to i5 comparable laptop with a good video card, this Toshiba Satellite definitely fits the bill. The AMD A8 proc and Radeon 7640 GPU meets needed requirements for games like Neverwinter Nights and Civ. Windows 8 on the machine is responsive and snappy (though slow to start-up and load updates, 8.1 get here soon!) This is the high-middle range laptop you want with the low-end price.

This Toshiba offers easy setup, decent sound quality through the factory speakers, and a more than adequate viewing area on the 15.6'' screen. Toshiba delivers again! I really don't like the new Windows 8 because it is NOT user-friendly, but otherwise my goddaughter is really enjoying her new laptop.

I have been impressed with the value of this computer, I think it outshines the others in this price range. The AMD quad core really performs well when put to the task of video processing or pretty much anything I have thrown at it. Windows 8 is memory hungry so I upgraded the RAM to 8, but that is relatively inexpensive these days. It will run fine with 4, but noticeably quicker with 8. The 640GB HD is plenty for anything I want to do. I like the keyboard too, it has a full numbers pad. The display is as good as any laptop in this price range but the sound leaves a little to be desired, it's ok, but not nearly as good as my wife's Toshiba Satellite Pro L670. All told, great machine!

A laptop just isn't as fast as a desktop, but for the price it is a great machine. We bought it to replace a desktop that went out during a bad storm and it is doing a fine job. Not happy at all with Windows 8, but I certainly can't blame Toshiba for that.

The biggest issue I have is that it came loaded with Windows 8 that I absolutely loathe. The computer itself is straightforward. No it's not a touch screen nor does it have some of the bells and whistles that pricier models have but the price point makes it a fantastic buy for a normal computer user. The touch pad was a little difficult at first, but I got the hang of it.

This laptop is more than I needed and I'm very pleased with it. It is easy to use and performs very well. I like the extra number pad on the right side of the keyboard. I would recommend it to others who are looking for a quality laptop. My only complaints are it came preloaded with Windows 8 when I prefer Windows 7 and the speakers aren't very good in sound quality.

This laptop was an amazing deal. The Radeon on-board graphics blow the HD 4000's away. Due to Windows 8, the initial setup took a while - mainly due to it not being intuitive when you're used to previous Win versions. After the initial setup, Windows 8 isn't too bad. The laptop itself is great. My only issues have been with Windows 8. When I have encountered the occasional program lock-up, Windows 8 does not handle being able to switch to the Task Manager. I can see it, but I cannot select anything to shut down. I got around this by just signing out, then signing back in, but its a bit of a pain as anything I was doing is shut down as it logs me out.

This was purchased for our 12yr old son. He uses it for gaming and will use it for school. So far, everything has run fine with no problems. Price seemed good compared to other brands with like features.

Overall this is a good laptop and was perfect for me to travel with. While I'm familiar with apps, I still don't much care for the Windows 8 start screen, but found a program that allows me to customize how my desktop is setup and starts. The sound quality on this laptop is lacking so much so that I'd rather watch a movie on one of my other smaller devices (phone or hd e-reader) which have much better sound quality..

This laptop replaced my old worn out HP. It's alot faster, better clarity on the screen and just an all around better laptop. My only complaint is with the sound quality and mainly Windows 8....don't really care to much for the tiles and stuff and the loss of the start button. But that really has nothing to do with the laptop itself.

Display is good. Battery life good. I like it fine. It sometimes sounds like it is going into super turbo warp drive and might explode. So far, that has not happened. This computer is functional for most of my needs. Quick to initially fire up, and quick moving around web and apps.
