i had a Samsung illusion for a few months but battery kept dying and not enough memory. this lg optimus exceed 2 is easy to operate and everything is great about it. the only proplem I had was with the cashier because I kept telling him that I wanted the same number and I was supposed to get a $50 gift card which he was supposed to give me at checkout and he didn't and when I called customer service they told me to return the phone and buy it again and reactivate it but that seemed stupid to have to drive back and buy the phone again. so even though I feel I was owed the card I didn't want to drive back there again and go thru the process of getting another phone activated. and I still got a nice phone

Bought two of these since the price was burner-level. Make light use of mostly talk, but have found it reliable. Bought the case, too, as an afterthought once we'd had the phone a few days.

it has all of the features that was needed for the person whom it was bought for and they love it for the size and technology that it has, they're not too tech savvy but it helps.

LG Optimus Exceed 2 Verizon PrePaid Cell Phone

I purchased 2 of these cell phones because I caught them at low price $14.99 ea, plus I purchased an extended warranty for each phone but for some crazy Best Buy reason it doesn't appear on my receipt when I went to the store to pick up the phones. I asked the Best Buy clerk how do I prove I purchased the warranty ? The Best Buy clerk told me not to worry because its in their system. I guess its in their mystery system ? The Best Buy Ad says these work on the Verizon no annual contract prepaid cards and they cost $35 or $45, for 30 day use. They also advertise a $45 card for 90 days of use. I expected to buy a $35 card initially to try out the phones. But I was wrong ! When I went to the store to activate my phones the Best Buy rep advised me these phones require an initial purchase of a $45 card for each phone. My 30 days has expired, the phone has no rollover of minutes. When I checked my remaining minutes I immediately received a robo message on the phone asking me to set up an auto pay option. I'm not comfortable with that option plus the fact I had to buy a prepaid $45 instead of a $35 card to try out this phone. 3G is not the greatest Verizon for a cheap throw away phone there should be a $20 prepaid card for people who are not heavy phone users. I don't think I will continue to use this phone any further for several reasons, 1) My warranty plan price is not displayed on my store receipt, 2) the cost of the card had to be $45 instead of $35, 3) the screen size is much smaller in person than expected, 4) it has one 5 MP camera which took a blurry picture, 5) there is no case or bumper available for this phone, except for a big old fashioned pleather type pouch with a snap closure that Best Buy sells for $39.99, 6) Best Buys Ad was misleading for the cost of the prepaid phone cards $45, $35 for 30 days of use, and another card costing $45 for 90 days, (there is no $45.00, 90 day card available for this phone).

    Great Phone Without A Contract

Pros.. What a great phone for the low cost, phone comes with so much advance technology, slim, and sharp looks. Great phone. Phone is very user friendly and awesome.. The 3G internet is fast, I never seen a difference from the 3G or the 4G. All works the same to me. Call quality is great, speaker also great, no crackle noise. $45 a month for the service is a great value especially if you ad auto pay on the account, than they will give you 1GB of data per month for just the low cost of $45. I did have not added bridge data yet. But $20 a month for 3GB seems like a great deal.. Cons.. Battery life on this LG exceed 2 is horrible, dies super fast, if phone is in use on net or if i don't kill the running apps. Only con is battery life..

    Great beginner smart phone

I finally caved and bought my first ever smartphone. Contracts are way too expensive for my budget so I chose this phone mainly because it was prepaid yet still on the Verizon network I love. For a beginner like me, this phone is perfect! It does everything I could possibly need it to without costing me an arm and a leg. It's only 3G, but since I don't stream videos or anything like that it's not an issue. I got the $45 plan with 1GB data and I don't even use 1/10 of it every month because I stick to WiFi. I do wish it had a front facing camera, I didn't think it was worth an extra $150 to get the version with one. The only problem I've had with the phone is when I use the Skype app, for some reason it makes the phone go crazy and crash every time I video chat, even with the camera off. I don't normally use Skype so it doesn't bother me too much but I wish it worked for those rare occasions when I do. Overall it's a great phone, it's like having a mini tablet that can connect to the internet anywhere you are and it's great for keeping my son entertained when we're on the go. And you can't beat the price! Got mine when there was a promo to get $25 BestBuy rewards when you bought any smart phone so it only ended up costing me $25. Plus there was a promo that paid for my second month of service when I activated so that saved me another $45.

I really love my LG Optimus Exceed 2 no contract cell phone. It is easy to use, fast and perfect for an older senior who does not want to wade through all of the different categories to learn how to operate options that are not interesting to me.I do not have the time or desire to learn how to play games on my phone etc. I simply wanted a good quality phone that I could hear well on and text on. Thanks for suggesting this phone to me. I am very satisfied with it.

    Great starter phone for kid

Purchased this first prepaid phone for my kid. It's a very good starter phone. Large screen (4.5") is a definite plus. Cannot beat the price for the functions this phone provides. Does everything the kid wanted especially the games. Did not have performance issues playing the games. This phone is only for Verizon, which is could be a negative for some users. Verizon prepaid starts at $45/month which is a big negative. As for the phone spec. only con is the internal memory. Since most of the apps cannot move to microSD, could run out of internal memory very quickly. Great to use this phone as a basic camera and mp3 player which takes advantage of the microSD. Wish this phone is available for other prepaid vendors.

I tried a number of smartphones but they were inconvenient to use and always lacked some features I wanted. This phone made me a smartphone user for good. It has a nice set of apps included, and uncluttered feel and the settings are a breeze. It has a good camera with flash, much nicer than I expected and was the only phone in my price range (I refuse to spend a fortune for a phone and want prepaid) that included a hotspot - a feature that I required. I love this phone! The downsides are low RAM and low screen resolution, but honestly I haven't had any problems with RAM since I stopped downloading useless apps and I can't tell the difference between the quality of the screen against higher resolutions - it's a small 4.5 inch screen after all, what do you need 1080p for on a teeny screen? It fits nicely in my pocket and is slim and the battery life is better than I expected. It's all the phone I need or want and the price is fabulous. Get one, you won't regret it.

    Bought as an mp3 player

I compared prices of mp3 players and found that this android smart phone would work and would be a much cheaper option. I did not activate a voice plan on it, just installed a 32GB memory card, dumped my music and audio files onto it and am able to use WiFi for games and apps while using the stock music player to play my music. For $15 this is the best mp3 player I've ever had! As far as the phone goes, it is older and only has 3G coverage, but would be good for an emergency or for a basic smartphone plan.

Nice screen size and seems to be pretty fast. I like that it has physical buttons and the sound is pretty good. I can't get it to mirror cast on chromecast for some reason. I don't use the camera enough to know if it's good or not but it probably isn't that great. I would have liked more installed storage memory since android won't allow you to move apps to memory cards for some bizzare reason so you only get less then 2gb of storage which is only a handful of apps and that really sucks; if google wants you to install their apps they should make android let you move apps to the wasted 32gb memory card like they used to. I would only recommend the phone for someone that only used about one or two apps because the storage amount is the only real bad thing about the phone.

This is a very nice smart phone for the price. I don't use a lot of mobile data so the minimum prepaid card for $45.00 that gives 500 mb of data is good. I mostly use WiFi anyways at home, work, and anywhere else I can her WiFi. It has a good display but It could use a better camera but overall a nice phone.

Easy to use and has a lot of great features. The 4G lte is a plus. I have used an IPhone and Samsung Galaxy 5 this is a great alternative. If you don't want to get locked into a two year contract and making monthly payments on a $600 or more phone then this is the way to go. And no hidden fees or extra charges when you get your bill. The phone is great and the prepaid plan is excellent when creating a monthly budget because you are paying the same amount every month.

Ordered two, one for my teen cousin and one for my lil one who will start school soon. Both have used the phone with wifi only to get use to the features and use the web. (After they arrived we called customer care to not activate but to program the phones with numbers and all so that when we were ready to make a payment we could.) One day my teen cousin's phone rang mine and thats how we learned that Verizon had given us a free month of talk time and etc. I had not paid attention to any of the incoming texts on my lil ones device as I thought it was just ads and what not. So over all we are satisfied and grateful.......still surprised the phone called mine without help but ummm yea other than that creepy... experience the phone is great. Volume is loud and caller is heard crystal clear. Minor thing is when on youtube some videos dont expand like it does on my mobile device. But thats minor and not consistent with all videos selected but some had limitations on this device for some reason. For $14.99 to get a phone with a back camera and at 4.5 inch is a great deal. The $45 plan is not bad if you dont plan to use the web a great deal. But for talking and texting it is good! I told someone about it and they grabbed one up too!

Whether your looking for a Verizon Prepaid phone, an Android device for the kids, or a backup unit for yourself, this device more than fits the bill. The LG Optimus Exceed 2 has a nice 4.5 inch display, a recent Android operating system, and even has dual core cpu. The phone has a nice feel in the hand, it is slim and doesn't feel to heavy nor too light. Above all of its features, the best thing about the phone is it's incredibly affordable price. I cannot believe that a feature rich device could be had for as little as the Exceed 2. It's a mystery why any parent would purchase something such as the Ipod touch, when a powerful device like the Exceed 2 exists.

I got tired of wasting money in expensive phones and contracts and I got this cool design for under $40 and got a prepaid service with Verizon for only $45 monthly, and I am so glad I did. This phone has all the cool apps and services I need that I had in my past $600 Galaxy phone and I don't see any difference, so unless you want people to know that you have an expensive device, this little fellow will do everything you need from any smart phone and believe me, I don't miss Sprint $300+ monthly bills at all.
