My review for Victor Frankenstein was great and I saw it from start to finish and this was the best Frankenstein movie of all time. Beats out the rest of the other horror movies out there. If I had the time to see it again, I will definitely see it again because it's very good.

The directing seems very Guy Ritchie a la Sherlock Holmes, but in a good way. Story told from the perspective of Igor, and casts Victor in an idealistic light. Throughout the story there are questionable parts, such as why someone who walked bent over for so long could walk normally, all of a sudden, in one of the early scenes... but if you get over these minor flaws the story seems good overall. I would certainly watch it again, and a second in the series would be interesting if they keep the same style and charm.

This is a retelling of the classic Frankenstein story we should all know. James McAvoy portrays the Mad Scientist Victor Frankenstein well. Daniel Radcliffe isn't too shabby as Igor. I like that he wasn't just a hunchback lab assistant. Igor actually has an integral part in the creation of the Monster. I enjoyed this film more this time around than the first. In a nutshell a decent adaptation worth repeated viewing.

This was one of those movies that when I heard it was coming out, I wasn't expecting much from it... after hearing it wasn't to bad I decided to give it a try anyway. As it turns out the movie really wasn't that bad. Essentially its a retelling of the classic tale that we are all familiar with. While another one of those movies that will never win an Oscar, if you are in the mood for something a little different, this might be worth checking out!

What is wonderful about this adaptation of Mary Shelley's original tale of Frankenstein is that it's a fresh new look at the classic story. The performamces are wonderful, the film is awesome to look at, and one will long remember this new way of telling the classic tale of the obsession with the creation of new life. The original masterpiece was the greatest, but this adaptation doesn;t take a back seat. It tells the story in a whole new way.

this is from the director of Lucky Number Slevin so expect something rather grandiose and a lil dif. I went in without reading reviews and on a recommendation of a friend. I wasnt't disappointed, I liked it. Frankenstein, the Wolfman, old Hollywood Monsters are always going to have a soft spot with me. I prefer the viewer to form their own opinions :)

    An Enjoyable B Rated Movie

This movie definitely came off as a B rated type of film. It was under hyped and not very well advertised. It's better than what I expected, but it's no master piece. I would of rather just rented it than bought the movie. James McAvoy is a great actor and seemed to fit well in this movie, but Daniel Radcliffe seemed kind of awkward in his role.

I liked this movie quiet a bit. It is not your typical gore fest but that's ok. I think because of the producers you have more of a Sherlock Holmes vibe to it. I truly enjoyed the movie. Daniel and James had great chemistry. Some of the story line kind of unbelievable but it's a movie folks don't read into everything,,,,It's a new spin on a great story.

There is a lot to recommend Victor Frankenstein, but it's tough to decide what the tone really is. The first act is a bit light-hearted adventure but the final act is straight-up horror/suspense. And along the way, the film jumps back and forth between the two. Some good stuff to be found in it, but a shame it never really finds iits feet.

A handsome and grim production and strong performances by Radcliffe and McAvoy, Victor Frankenstein is something of a put together monster itself with part that function very well and others not so much. I enjoyed watching it and with the great blu-ray picture and sound and for fans of this genre, recommended.

Sir Macovoy and Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame truly escalate this visually beautiful rendition of the Frankenstein legend to over the top heights. IT gets a bit tedious towards the end but I still enjoyed and the larger than life acting and set design really were outstanding.

Caught this Version on premium cable and was so impressed i knew i had to own it. The story is very unique to what we are used too, the acting was top notch and the special effects were truly amazing. Not your same old Mary Shelly story.......this one is very different from beginning to end.

    Victor Frankenstein

Perhaps because I suffered through a less convincing "update" of this venerable tale, 2014's largely flaccid I, Frankenstein 3D, Victor Frankenstein didn't strike me as being quite as bad as initial critical assessments at the time of its theatrical release had led me to believe. The film has more than its fair share of problems, but it also has some exciting sequences and the basic premise is decent enough, even if the realization of that premise repeatedly stumbles. Fans of the cast or those entranced by Shelley's source novel may want to check this out as a rental if nothing else. Technical merits are generally strong for those considering a purchase.

Bought the steelbook which is cool looking and the movie was a lot of fun! James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe play off of each other well as Victor and Igor. Has an old school monster movie feel to it and cool special effects! Definitely recommend!

Not a great movie, but much better than expected. A highly entertaining version of the relationship between Egor and Victor Frankenstein as they experiment with creating life. Excellent performance by James McAvoy as usual. Funny, Creepy, and Dramatic.

A Fine Tribute to Hammer-Style Horror

"Victor Frankenstein" is a throwback to the classic Hammer Horror films where Frankenstein, as played by Peter Cushing, was a rogue scientist with little regard for convention. Marvelous, spirited performances by a great cast, and a unique steam-punk feel. it's a lot of fun!

I give it 3.5 stars. I don't typically like my sci-fi movies too dark, unlike other people these days, and I was not sure if this one was dark or played for laughs prior to watching it. Frankenstein movies can go either way. So that was the reason I was a little hesitant about getting it. Otherwise I wanted to watch Daniel Radcliffe in something new, and I liked the Victorian look of it. Well, the movie is mostly serious but it has its funny moments. Daniel Radcliffe is fun to watch as Igor, who is not the "yes master" servant generally envisioned, and James McAvoy is great at playing mad man Victor Frankenstein and he's fun to watch, too. So although it's a little gory (but not too bad), I thought it was a pretty good movie.

My family and I watched this movie on one of our movie nights. It wasn't quite what we expected, but it was still worth the watch. There were some parts that were a bit too long but all inn all everyone enjoyed our time together watching it.
