I tried using a $16 VHS converter. The resulting digital audio file cracked and popped. VHS to DVD 9.0 is easy to use and the quality is exactly as expected. I have converted several tapes to digital files and I'm very happy with how they turned out.

Was able to transfer my old Hi8 and 8mm tapes to digital. You'll need a working player like the old camcorder or VHS player to transfer. I did the "Easy" method and just made to select S video or RCA, which ever I was using at the time. I had one time where the video was black, so I restarted my computer and it worked. The software is downloaded from a website so I didn't need to hook up my CD-drive for this project. I'm very happy with the purchase.

East to hook up and download. Two programs available: easy mode advanced mode. Easy mode records up to 3 hours if vhs tape while advanced mode records up to roughly 6hours 20minutes. I am only downloading vhs to my computer and I later will use the other program to edit and burn to many DVDs. I am just starting to use this but it seems to be everything that i am looking for.

This is very easy to use since I am a novice. It has been great to do this so easily. The only downside is that you have to play the video the whole time and are not able to leave when recording.

Easy to work. Great quality. Didn’t take long at all to copy to a dvd.

User friendly. Easy to use and install on my PC. you just need RCA and or S VHS cable which ever you prefer.

This is exactly what you need to transfer your VHS tapes to your laptop or desktop. Works quite well, no problems what so ever.

We returned another brand since we had so much trouble with it and purchased the Vidbox. I called the vidbox 800 number before making this purchase and the staff were very helpful. We installed it and it worked great right out of the gate. Very pleased with it.

Worked easily to transfer my old vhs tapes to digital. Now I can edit and share them easily. Just what I expected.

This device dos exactly what it says and does it very well. I could have paid someone to copy all our VHS tapes to DVD. With this, I was able to get them in very good quality on my computer without any issues. I'll be able to edit them now (clipping and merging) sections to create special memories for family members. Well worth the cost.

I have over 20 miniDV tapes from an old camcorder with all the video of my kids growing up. This software and cable allowed me to convert it to DVD. Reasonably easy to use, the software has some capabilities that I didn't use (title screens, etc.). I just started the convert wizard and let them copy. Worked well, each tape took the full hour to play through, and then about 15 minutes to burn to DVD.

Fairly easy to set up and use. If vhs has a video issue the software won’t fix it. But basically happy with product

I had high hopes for this program to finally get some home videos converted. Unfortunately, I never could get it to work. The program itself loaded and seemed fine. But everytime I tried to transfer it couldn't detect the video. I checked cords and even swapped them out just in case. Never could get it to work. Since I bought it to work on as a Christmas gift and was running out of time to get it done I returned it. I would like to try it again sometime and see if I just got a bad one.

Slight learning curve: 1) don't use the program disk in the box, download the program from the web as it has updated drivers; 2) don't try save the files on a server, let the program save it on the computer C drive and move them later; and 3) don't try to multitask on your computer while this program is running, an error will result. All of the above produced the Windows "blue screen" with "kmode" errors. Once you get beyond them the program works well.

Excellent product and easy to use. This was the second product of this type we bought. The first one was complicated and didn’t work. We were pleasantly surprised how easy the setup was. We were transferring vcr to dvd within 30 minutes. I appreciate being able to watch during transfers. Some of the vcr tapes were over 20 years old. The quality was excellent.

I copied a vhs tape to a dvd and could not view the video. I then copied the tape to my laptop, then burned it to a dvd and was able to view it. I sent it to someone to see if they could view it, but they couldn't. believe it has to do with a missing codec. It's a good product and I'm still trying to figure out a few things with it.

I seem to be technologically challenged, so this may be an easier product to use than I'm making it. I've still got a lot to learn, but I would recommend it, especially for those who catch on to this type thing quickly.
