More than 50% of our home is covered by automated lights. However, in our kitchen, builder chose to install 4 pole CFL lights and I had no option to replace to automated lights without changing the entire ceiling casings. Since I was using Hue lights for rest of the house, I was not ready to use WeMo yet. Anyways Echo recently announced that they start supporting WeMo which I thought is interesting. I bought it from local BBY and installed it and connected to my iPhone and Echo, voila no more worries about leaving kitchen lights on at nights. Now we can simply tap on our smartphones or ask "Alexa" to turn off kitchen lights at night saving a trip downstairs! Installation is pretty simple. I am a electronics/electrical experienced person. If you are scared of working with electrical outlets etc., get it installed by a pro. Safety first! As far as the product specifications or features concerned, everything is working as claimed by manufacturer. We are happy with the product. I would have replaced more switched with WeMo, but sadly rest of the switches I need are either two way and/or dimmable.

I installed this on a light switch in the garage that controls a post light outside. So it is works great to remotely turn it on/off and I also have it run on a timer - on at dusk and off at midnight. Installation is pretty straight forward. It is a white decora switch size/style. It does require a neutral wire (white), so be sure you have this before installing. The phone sfw (I have android) works well. It opens a bit sluggish, but gets the job done. You can set schedules. To my knowledge there is no PC sfw or webpage to control the switch. So you can only do it from your phone. The switch itself works. It is a push button to manually turn on/off. Overall, I'm pleased with it. Saves me trips out into the cold garage to turn the post light on/off. Cons would be the switch squeaks when I press it manually. And the phone software is not polished, like what you get with, for example, Nest.

This is a perfect solution if you're looking for a smart way to control a light switch remotely. I bought this for a the switch that controls my front porch and exterior lights on the front of my house so that they can be programmed to turn on and off when I want, even if I'm not at home. I have it set to turn on at sunset and off at sunrise but there are other options. You also can manually turn the switch on and off. The installation was easy and the app is fairly straightforward to download and sync with your WIFI, although you must make sure the signal is strong enough at the location of the switch. I'd recommend this over and over again. I'm very pleased with my decision to purchase this switch.

This product is awesome!! Easy to use and install. App makes it easy to monitor, turn on and turn off all Belkin products. Bought this since the bulb only options were slightly difficult to use on daily basis (had to leave switch on to be able to us app. So either schedules needed to be set on app or had to use phone each time to turn off or one.). Only piece I dont like about light switch is that you cant dim the lights like the stand alone bulbs from Belkin. Possible that I just dont know how. Again, these are awesome and I will be buying a few more.

I love home automation and this product is exactly what I was looking for in lighting control. It sets up easily and there are many options for programming the light to automatically operate. It is also easy to install for anyone with basic electrical knowledge. One drawback is that it will only work on a single pole light switch. If you have a light that has multiple light switches that control it from multiple locations, this will not work. Another issue I have is that at times my phone app will not connect with the switch. This may be a problem with my home network, I don't know. Overall a great product.

I haven't dabbled in smart home stuff too much yet, as I can't determine which standard I want to use. I had a need to have my outside lights come on at dusk and shut off at dawn, and after reading reviews I decided to give the WeMo switch a try since it works on WiFi and doesn't need a smart hub. Be aware that this switch takes up a fair amount of space in the electrical box. I was installing it into a double switch that had a dimmer next to it, and I ended up having to move the dimmer to another location (it's a three-way switched light) so that I could fit the WeMo switch in the box. After moving the dimmer I got the WeMo in without indicent, and once it was installed it only took about 10 minutes to get it up and running (took a little over an hour to install it, since I had to move the dimmer for the other light to another spot). The app was a little confusing at first, but after reading the instructions I figured out what I was doing wrong, and I now have my outdoor lights coming on at dusk and staying on until dawn. There are a ton of options in the app for on/off times and triggers. All in all very happy.

It has been a few months now that I have installed the switch. It was easy to wire, and then set up. I was so happy with it's performance that I purchased 2 additional switched. One is set for the front outside light, one for the garage entrance, and the third for the hallway when I enter the house through the garage. The WeMo app is easy to navigate. I set the switches running the outside lights to turn on the lights 30 minutes after sunset and turn them off 30 minutes after sunrise. It's been working without without a glitch. I love it! I also set up an IFTTT recipe for days I work late to turn on my hallway light when I enter the geofence perimeter I set. I always smile when I open the door to a lit hallway. I am thinking about expanding to other WeMo products. I wish they would come down on price a little.

Installation was simple but it was slightly difficult to fit the wiring into the box because of how big the back of the switch is. Setup took about 5 minutes because it didn't connect to my internet right away. Other than that, the switch has been very convenient and working well. I can control my lights with Alexa or I can control them away from home via my phone.

I've been very happy with this light switch. After testing one for a few weeks I went out and started upgrading the whole house to various wemo products. I have 5 of this particular switch and have been very happy with them. The light switch works as a regular light switch as soon as you wire it in. Using the app on my iPad to connect them to WiFi was very easy. Once I connected them to the WiFi they initially did two sofware updates. The app is very user friendly. I use it on an iPad, samsung android tablet and android phones. The rules are very easy to setup. You can setup rules to operate lights based on your location for sunset, sunrise, or time based. It is easy to select wich rules apply to which lights and to even have some lights affected by several rules. This was my first step in home automation and I have been very happy. After I leave home I can turn off all my lights and then turn them back on when I am on the way home. Overall I have been very happy with the wemo product line.

I have multiple WeMo products and they all are great for being able to turn on lights remotely or settting a timer so they go on and off at certain times. I used the switch for outside lights and have never been happier with the product. Only issue is there must be a white wire available in the wall. It requires it.

This light switch and the other outlet style plug has worked reliably for over 3 years. There would be occasional hiccups like power interruptions that cause the switches to restart, but they have never failed on me. However, you are at the mercy of your internet connection and if you happen to be away while the network crashes, you won't be able to communicate with the switches. The daily programs will continue to work regardless. Setting this up properly does require some networking knowledge and how to properly implement security. The switches both work on hidden and broadcasted SSID Wifi networks. Half of my switches work on the hidden SSID and the other half are connected to the broadcasted SSID. They do support security password keys, but if you want an extra layer of protection, turn on your router/basestation's MAC address control to enable only recognized and authorized devices access to your wireless network. I have assigned static IP address to these switches by way of their MAC addresses, to avoid IP conflict when power cycling happens to my router. This is the general rule for all of my stay-at-home devices. Update 2017 My eleventh switch will be arriving tomorrow. The first switch I bought in 2013 is still working to this day. All switches are still working reliably. Works perfectly with NEST thermostat, Amazon Echo and IFTTT. Update Dec 2017 1. The WEMO App first lets you name each switch and then allows you to set up "Rules" for unattended on/off times to a switch or a group of switches. So that a switch or a group of switches will turn on/off at a scheduled time. 2. The Amazon Alexa App allows you to first create intelligent named "Groups" of switches, such as "Exterior Lights", "Interior Lights", "Living Room Lights", so you can use voice control to address them in a meaningful way. "Alexa, turn off Living Room Lights" or "Alexa, turn off All Lights." 3. IFTTT will integrate all the functionality of your smart devices with WEMO and ALEXA (NEST and others too). i.e. The GPS in a smart phone can be used to create an invisible fence that can turn WEMO switches on/off as you pass in/out of its perimeter. My living room lights and exterior lights come on when I'm about half a mile from home. NEST can also sense I'm coming home and start cooling/heating the house. The are thousands of "recipes" ready to use. With these three Apps together, there are thousands of possibilities to automate your home if you are willing to experiment. These are just some of the ways I use mine. Update March 2018 1. Recently purchased the Wemo Mini Smart Plug to make the uplights in the kitchen cabinets smart. Set up was easy but I first had to add the switch's MAC address to my basestation before connecting to one of my home's SSIDs. 2. That makes twelve switches and all are active and functioning as you can see. 3. The Wemo App is very laggy, but luckily with voice activation, I rarely launch the app except to take screenshots. I use Alexa's voice recognition instead. The Mac version of the app needs to support higher resolution displays like the Android one does.

Product works great and set up and install were straight forward. It does help if you’re familiar with wiring but if not, everything is color coded and labeled very well with good directions. I put a dimmer and two regular wemo WiFi switches in a triple gang box and it was a tight fit due to the size of these switches. They are bigger than regular switches and regular dimmer switches as well. Set on the app works well and is simple to navigate. Just wish it worked with Harmony remotes but as of now, it doesn’t. You can use it with Alexa and control the Wemo and Harmony hub with your voice but I would like to be able to control it with my remote too. Not just voice or smart phone. Biggest reason to choose this setup over Phillips Hue was the ability to still use the switches manually like normal switches. They work great.

So I started with amazon echo dot, then got Belkin plugs for the bedside lamps then got this wall switch for the bedroom light. Now I can turn off and on each lamp or group of lamps or everything by voice command! You don't know how convenient it is to snuggle in bed and just command Alexa turn off all, and all lights turn off! No fumbling for switches, no stumbling in the dark to get into bed. Installing the switch was relatively easy, I looked at the videos and the belkin website. My switch box has a big jumble of wires and the box itself holding the wires was just big enough to squeeze all of the heavy wires and the belkin switch. Since I had already set up the belkin plugs and used the wemo app, the switch took less than a minute to set up. I am considering putting more echo dots around the house but for me the bedroom light controls are the most useful. With the new belkin mini out, the guest bedroom may be next!

I owned three of these before and had them installed at our house for over 2 years. We sold the house, and loved them so much I had to purchase them again. The app is easy and intuitive, the installation was fast, and combined with the IFTTT app, they become invaluable. If you're not familiar w IFTTT, it allows you to ser up rules that control your switches, bc's you has time to turn them on/off?! For example, my porch and patio lights turned off @ dawn, and on @ sun dusk. Every time my toddler woke up and turned her light switch on, an alert was sent to my phone, and it was logged into a spreadsheet in Google Docs. Without IFTTT, they're still pretty neat, as it allows me to turn on/off from wherever I am (provided of course, that the wifi is working @ home and, that I have acces to internet on my phone). So, we love them!

If you've ever replaced a light switch, installing the WeMo Light Switch should be easy. Key need: neutral wire in your switch box. The part that took longer than expected was the set-up. The Light Switch was dropping its connection to my router so I had to reset the switch a couple of times. Key learning/experience for me after set-up - I had my router fixed to a certain channel. Apparently, that caused an issue that I found out later when the light it was controlling turned on, but the light switch LED was flashing orange. It took me a little while to find the right support article, but the router should be set to find channels automatically. After getting that squared away, the Light Switch has worked perfectly (I've had it for 3 weeks now).

I have my front porch pendant light and my 2 lights on the sides of my garage. I installed the Wemo Wall Switch so that I could turn On & Off the 3 front Lights from anywhere in the world with my smartphone (iPhone). Once I downloaded the Wemo App, I discovered I can set that particular Wemo Wall Switch to come On daily at 5pm, and to go Off at 5am daily automatically, using the Wemo App. I like using the Wemo Switch / App to have all 3 lights come On & Off at the Same Time also. I thought about buying the solar sensitive lights, but then they would all not go on and off together. I like how you can program times in the App. Way Cool!

This is my fourth WeMo light switch. If you are comfortable working around electricity this is a fairly easy install. Just turn off breaker before removing the old switch and installing the WeMo switch. You will need the WeMo app on your phone to complete the installing by connecting to your home's wifi. I also link to Alexa so that I can control my lights with my Echo Dot. You can also set the lights to turn on and off at specific times through the WeMo app. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that occasionally after a power outage I have to go through the install process again to get all the switches to work with Alexa.

This is my first "smart" lightswitch which I wanted as an easy way of turning on the lights at dusk for a specific period of time (1.5 hours) and this thing is able to do that within the scheduling options provided in the Wemo app on your smartphone. It was super-easy to setup...downloaded the app, my phone found it right away when trying to connect to it via WiFi, and i was able to easily get it tied to my home wireless. You can also have multiple schedules defined as far as when to turn it on and off...i also have a schedule setup to turn it on in the morning, so I don't have to stumble around in the dark. I might end up buying additional Wemo stuff in the future based on a positive experience so far.

Bought for my father. Integrates perfectly with Alexa. Set timers for outdoor lights but easily override at switch if needed. Setup was pretty easy. No complaints

This wemo remote switch controls my home light when I'm not home. you can schedule or remotely turn on and off over the Internet from the wemo apps. Easy to setup and so far so good....
