Great little unit to have because you can access the internet from where ever you are. It functions well & is actually fast when it comes to web surfing. The biggest negative is the battery life. Seems to only be good for a little over one hour.

    The Verizon Jetpack Screams

I have been using Sprint internet devices since about 2005. I was satisfied with 3G, it did the job. After Sprint brought the Iphone to the network, I noticed 3G was not so good anymore and unreliable so I upgraded my device to the Sierra Wireless - Tri-Fi 4G LTE. This was Sprint's best internet device. This was still not very impressive even in a 4G area. I finally got fed up with bad service on a business trip and purchased a Jetpack from Best Buy. It was like night and day. The Jetpack was screaming fast and the 4G service seemed to have a much better coverage area than Sprint. I don't think I ever actually experienced real 4G service until I moved to Verizon. The battery life is good and you can look at real time data usage for the month. The data plans are bought in blocks with Verizon and shared, but don't let that scare you. The price is no more than I paid with sprint when you look at the cost per GB. The other nice thing is Verizon charges $15.00 in 1 GB blocks in case you go over your data plan. This is way better than being dinged per MB like used to happen. Overall I love the device. I was so happy with my service and performance that I went back to Best Buy a week later and switched my cell service to Verizon as well. This is after being a 13 year Sprint customer. The clarity of the Verizon network is noticeable.

I live in an area where we don't have WiFi, so I purchased the Jetpack for my iPad. I love it. I have taken it on trips. I love that I have a secure connection and don't have to use the public wifi. It is very easy to use. The only negatives are that it doesn't hold a charge long (less than 24 hours), and it can overheat if you put it in your purse.

    Great mobile hotspot

Great mobile hotspot on one of the best carriers. Verizon is know for getting signal in even the most remote locations and this mobile hotspot doesn't let me down. I primarily use it when visiting home which is a rural area and my mom has little to no need (or wish) for internet use. Perfect for visiting for a few days and still having access to the internet without going to the library. All my devices can link to the hotspot with ease. Perfect for the traveler whom is unsure if there will be a wi-fi spot available to them. Data limit is great for anyone whom isn't a serious gamer. If you plan to spend hours on end on high graphic games such as World of Warcraft, Star Trek Online etc then the data limit will only get you a few days. Other than that, the data limit is awesome.

The hotspot is small, convenient and easy to use. I have many devices connected to it. It eliminates the need for other methods of getting to the Internet that require lots of equipment. The cost of the hotspot and the wireless service for it are very reasonable. I highly recommend this product for portability and easy access to the Internet.

I got a great deal on 2 tablets that connect via WiFi only. No cell connectivity or data plan needed for them, at home they work off my home network. I bought this to use as my connection device when traveling or out of the house. It works great, virtually no set up, just charge it, turn it on to connect and then connect your devices to it. Comes with password protected WiFi, good range and good speed - better than basic DSL or cable. The only downside I've noticed is the battery may not last a day if used continuously and you need to pay attention to data usage depending on the cell plan you are on. It's easy to get distracted and use lots of data.

I am not always in one place and I can connect up to five devices to wifi at once with this Jetpack the size of a coaster. Keep it charged, then turn it on. Log on with your devices (password is on the back of the device) and I am "airborne." Take a couple of seconds to start up, but then you are good to go. Do turn it off when you are finished and charge up at night when you charge your devices. Downside: rather pricey.

This JetPack is great. It is very easy to connect/user friendly. So far, the coverage has been great (zero issues). The battery doesn't stay charged for that long.

I didn't even know what a "hotspot" was until I purchased my tablet and the Best Buy salesperson demonstrated it; but then I knew immediately that I wanted it. I don't own (or want to own) a smartphone, but loved the idea of being able to check my e-mail, look up information on the web, even order a pizza from anywhere. It's very light -- I carry it in my purse every time I go out. I bought it for use with my tablet, but it works with all my devices -- I can even use my laptop in the car. The battery only lasts about 5 hours, and the range is quite limited --doesn't reach from my house to the garage -- but I still love it. Very, very cool little gadget!

As I ride the commuter rail system, I wanted a mobile hot spot that was fast, easy to use and secure. The Verizon hot spot fills the bill. All I have to do is turn it on at the beginning of my trip and turn it off as I arrive at my station. No hassles whatsoever!

Most Tech people have the misunderstanding that customers who come into their store to make a purchase know before hand what products come with built- in contracts. That wasn't explained to me. What was explained was that the hot spot would allow me securely use wi-fi where only unsecured wi-fi access was available and when using transportation as a passenger. As with a cell phone, this comes with a 2 year contract and all the other fees thereto associated.

I travel a lot and I hate to use hotel or resort networks. Some cost and some are just plane complicated to use. I also dislike being rerouted to a hotel site requesting information I'm not eager to give out. This little compact network works well for receiving and posting e'mail and searching the web as you like. I use it on the road but when I'm home, this thing just sets there costing me $$$ each month. So there is a trade-off: Use the hotel's or use yours. I elected to you my own. I wish I could turn on and off my subscription and deactivate when I'm not using it.

Right after I bought this, I went on a trip to the woods of northern Minnesota where we often lose phone signal or are subject to roaming charges and was pleasantly surprised by the adequate Verizon signal strength. The device itself has a disappointing battery life (about 8 hours when in use). It definitely needs to be turned off when not needed and will need to be charged every night. It sometimes gets hot when plugged in, which made me nervous.

I only use this for business but, it is a major part of my business as Real Estate Consultant and Investor. I especially love that I don't have to worry about one more thing in my business, just turn it on and it's connecting me to the Internet anywhere. Great for open houses and getting things done anywhere. Only thing to worry about is to be sure you charge it once in a while, but also connects to my computer for fast charging. Sales reps were wonderful at explaining why this particular devise and Verizon, was best for my needs since this is not an area of expertise for me. Thanks Verizon and Best Buy.

For someone who doesn't doesn't know a firewall from a cookie, I got thrown into technology due to a new career choice. Using the Verizon Jetpak is an answer to my limited knowledge of high tech. It's easy to use, allows me to use my computer in a variety of settings and helps me connect more quickly for my business. Plus, I have the Best Buy Geeks who have my back if I have any questions----and guess what? They don't think any of my questions are stupid! Hooray for a great partnership: Verizon, Best Buy and my computer!

I am pleased with how easy it is to connect to the device and the great signal it provides. I am, however, baffled by how quickly this device appears to use the data. We are not streaming any video (no YouTube, Netflix, etc.) and not using any music service (Pandora, etc), and yet we are flying through data. I do the same things on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Nexus) and only use about half a gig per month. I sure miss the unlimited data we previously had.

Got Jetpack as a "deal" from BB in the hopes that I'd be able to cut my cable internet bill, but after using it for one full day, found that I had used up a quarter of the data that I had planned on using for the month. Too bad I did not stick with the unlimited data plan and went to the 'share everything'.. probably good if you are just surfing the web a little bit and reading e-mail, but I have to go back to cable internet to avoid a huge bill from V
