Exceptional TV
|Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I have tried several TV's, this is an exceptional TV from Samsung. I did not want to go beyond a 55" TV for my setup, art mode is great when I play an aquarium scenery in the back ground. I have several windows and a source of light I can not control where it's installed. I have LG OLED in the bedrooms because I can control the light in those rooms and are wonderful TV's to own. Samsung has the best technology when it comes to having the brightest displays with a lot of room light. It has a layer that blocks the mirror effect, take a look at the LG OLED when it's off compared to Samsung, the reflections are really bad, Samsung is a winner. Get the 55" or 65" and you will not be disappointed.

Peace of mind

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Great TV I’m very happy and I am satisfied that I made the best choice getting the Sony Bravia A8H 55 inch. I researched over two weeks before making my decision. Sony A8H vs Sony A9G vs LG CX vs Samsung Q90t. The Sony A8H has a brighter screen and better upgrades than the more expensive A9G The A9G can be used as a left center right speaker of a theater system and the A8H cannot but I don’t care. The A8H has left center right speakers in the screen and it sounds awesome. For a theater system I’ll just use normal outside speaker setup. LG CX is complicated and needs to calibrated to get the same quality picture that the Sony A8H already has straight out of the box. The LG CX needs complicated reconfiguration when changing from a T B station to a movie or sports. The LG CX can do everything equally to the Sony A8H but it takes a lot of manipulation to get there and you need to get a professional calibration done on the set before you can hope to see a picture as nice as the Sony A8H already comes with. The Samsung Q90t or any Samsung researched does not compare well with the Sony A8H The Samsung Q90t is a good contender for the LG CX though but not the Sony A8H. The one selling point that the LGCX has is the gaming upgrades. But for the Sony plays game’s amazingly enough that I don’t see anything missing that I would need to upgrade on. They say the LGCX is better for gaming but still has need of complicated configurations to be done in different settings and different games. The Sony plays games better than any TV I’ve ever played on. It’s amazing on games and it’s simple to use. Just simply plug load and play and the speed and picture is wonderful. I don’t think a little bit better gaming technology on the LGCX would even be recognizable to me. I don’t think I would notice the difference. The Sony plays games and views movies and sports and tv stations better than any tv I’ve ever owned or watched. Burn in, nope this will never happen and if it did I’m covered, but it won’t, the technology on this Sony A8H is set up to constantly protect against burn in. I haven’t read about anyone getting burn in on these. I’m not ever going to worry about burn in. This Sony A8H is great TV beautiful picture great in gaming and very very very user friendly Peace Jesus loves you, believe and ask Him in your heart and be saved.

Great Resolution But Head Scratching Inputs
|Posted .Owned for 2 months when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value4 out of 5Ease of Use2 out of 5I down rated this TV because of the inputs. The picture itself is stunning. It enhances all digital inputs up to near 8K quality. The inputs are separated from the monitor in a "one connect" box. This is both a plus and a minus. On the plus side, it reduces the weight of the monitor enough so that one person can place the TV or even mount it -- mine is mounted on a home entertainment center with a central TV mount. On the negative side is where to place the one connect box. I had no problems with this but it is a little surprising that all adverts and illustrations of the mounted TV does not show that box. That fact has surprised some people and resulted in negative ratings. That is not the reason I down rated this TV, however. The main reason as the title implies is the head scratching HDMI input set up. Of the 4 HDMI inputs, only HDMI 4 is HDMI 2.1 to support 8K/60 or 4K/120 input. However (and this is a big one) HDMI 3 which is HDMI 2.0 is the input that supports ARC. Are you kidding me??? If I have an AVR receiver with ARC/EARC and 8K or 4K/120 capability I lose that to gain ARC. Why in the world wasn't the HDMI 4 2.1 port created with ARC capability?? For me right now I have developed a work around. My Xbox Series S is direct connected to the HDMI 4 port so I get full video functionality. My desktop (I use steam for gaming) is routed thru my receiver with its ARC output connected to the TV's HDMI 3 port to get ARC audio capability from the TV to the receiver for my XBOX and direct to TV streaming. Audio for the desktop is via the one digital optical output on the desktop and one digital optical input on the receiver. This works for me now but connections should have been very simple -- device outputs to receiver inputs and receiver ARC and 8K output to TV HDMI 2.1 ARC input but as described that is not how this TV (confusingly) is configured.

HOLY WOW

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This 8K tv is awesome. I got the 2019 version but I would recommend getting the 65". I heard something was different for the 55" vs the 65 " and now that I am writing this review I forgot what it was. The guy who installed it on GEEKSQUAD asked me why I got the 8K I tried to explain it to him but he tried to say I should have stayed with 4K. He was wrong. There is 8K content. So I made the right choice. The ONE CONNECT BOX is huge. Bigger than the last 4K tv I had with samsung. Way bigger and heavier but still I love everything about this 8k tv. I only wish samsung would start using 1Gbps or 10Gbps they are still using 100Mbps ethernet ports. But I use my Apple TV for 1Gbps for downloads and streaming.

Makes an awesome monitor.
|Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality4 out of 5Value3 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5I use this tv as a computer monitor and it works great. So much cheaper than buying a large format monitor. The text is so much more clear than the 49" 4k tv I was using. My eye fatigue has reduced as a result. I would recommend this 8k tv over a 4k tv if you are using this a your computer monitor. Only issue I have is the bottom few inches of the screen is not as bright as the rest of the screen. Seems it could have used another row of backlighting.

8K is here to Stay!!
|Posted .Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I purchased the new Q900 QLED 8K TV from Best Buy-in mid July, after seeing it demo'd in their Magnolia area. The resolution is out of this world! I love the features (and there are too many to list here), but if you have visited the Samsung site you know that without a doubt, we are seeing the next generation TV product played out in their product offering here. I am an Apple IOS champion and have connected all of my devices for viewing / listening / extended screen usage (for my iMAC) and love that everything is so easy to connect to and works seamlessly. I almost can't wait for one of my other flat screens to fail (maybe lightning - I hope not) to be able to replace each with a comparable size 8K. Samsung, Lead on! :)

Q: QuestionIs this TV HDMI 2.1 compatible?

Q: QuestionHow wide is the tv stand
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The TV is held upright by two metal sort of L-shaped legs that attach to the back of the TV. Each of the legs is 3/8 inch thick and there is 42 inches inside-to-inside between the two 8 1/2 inch long metal "feet", yielding an outside-to-outside measurement of about 43". The legs hold the TV screen upright with 2 5/8" clearance between the bottom of the TV screen and the table on which the TV sits. Those "feet" both extend 3 1/2" behind the TV screen. It bears mentioning that all of the connections for the HDMI cables attach to a "one connect" box-like device, which then sends a signal through a single cable routed through a path on the back of the TV to the center of the rear of the TV screen, where it connects and needs to be secured by a screw (included in the packaging). Samsung cautions that the "one connect" box should receive adequate ventilation, which means that it needs to sit on the table behind the TV, itself, so leave about 5"-6" of room behind the TV for that box.
