Q: Why did Samsung drop big price on this OLED ? Is it because it uses WOLDE panel from LG.
A: I spoke with Samsun about this and was told this model is exactly the same as the S90C. This model is basically a precursor model to the S90C that came out before it. According to Samsung, It uses slightly more power 440w vs 350w, (Best buys website shows their the same on the power department so I'm going with what Samsungs website says) It is also missing support for a HDR standard called HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) apparently its used for photographs mainly. Consumer Reports ranks the 89c and the 90c Nearly Identical with the 90c having a score of 0.01 higher due to something about the digital TV tuner I think? But otherwise the reviews are identical. Almost word for word. Found a forum discussion about the TV on RTINGS, apparently the Panel is WOLED in Europe and QD-OLED in US. For all intents and purposes this TV seems identical to the S90C sans the Film maker mode... which can be calibrated manually apparently. https://www.rtings.com/discussions/slWGtc-gPJfEh1UI/review-updates-samsung-kq77sc89a-a-new-s89c
Q: What type of wall mount for Samsung 77” OLED TV
A: i was wondering the same thing. I am unable to find any mounting holes in the back of the panel.I have a 65 inch Samsung and the threaded holes are there for the wall mount but not the 89c anyone have any info?
A: This tv is a QD OLED panel. Yeah the 83 inch s90 is woled but I have proof that is is a QD panel when I took a zoomed in photo of s89c I bought and the pixels are QD pixels. Here’s a photo of what my s89c pixels look like.
Q: Is this back lit or edge lit?
A: Oh wow, it looks like you have some serious research to do. This TV is neither. It is an OLED and every pixel is its own light source. OLEDs do not have back lights or edge lights.
A: look closely they are there, i had to use a flashlight
Q: HOW FAR APART ARE THE FEET?
A: roughly 15 inches, max. A lot closer than I thought they would be, but still very steady.
Q: Does this tv support Apple airplay? Also can I stream my Meta Quest 3 to the tv?
A: Apple AirPlay is supported. You can cast a Meta Quest 3 as well. ~ Samsung Specialist
Q: Does this TV have built Chromecast?
A: No, you would need a separate Google TV device with Chromcast.
