A: No you can not. This one is locked to Verizon but if you use it with Verizon for a certain amount of time or use $150 worth of service you can have them unlock it.
A: I don’t think so. I wanted to use mine with my old T-Mobile SIM card and no luck. In fact it wouldn’t even accept the Verizon Prepaid SIM card as it arrived locked. You definitely have to activate through a carrier that Best Buy sells, then they can resolve the lock issue as they did for me.
A: Yes it can be used just as a wifi device and for iTunes and any apps. Just remember you won't have any data coverage, outside any wi-fi areas.
