A: Hi - On this model, no you cannot change the code or receive access notifications remotely. You would need to purchase the a Yale Assure Lock 2 with Wi-Fi for remote access/notifications. You can purchase this model and then buy a Yale Wi-Fi Smart Module as an add-on accessory later if you prefer. I hope that helps!
Q: Is the lock weatherproof - my door gets rained on during windy rainy days?
A: The outside of the lock is - The inside, where the batteries and thumbturn are, needs to be inside your home. So for example, you couldnt install the lock on a gate that is 100% outdoors. Hope that helps!
A: You have to be careful which lock you chose, this one does not have wifi built into it. The more expensive one should, just read the description carefully. I made this mistake thinking it had wifi capabilities so I can lock/unlock when not home. We ended up having to buy the module that gets inserted into the lock to make it wifi compatible, which ended up being more expensive than just buying the lock with the wifi in the first place. I have not tried to hook it up to Alexa so I’m not sure about that.
