- A: AnswerI was worried about that because my old frig was up against a wall on the left and when I had my kitchen remodeled before the holidays, the contractor assured me that he could swap it with the cabinet on the right, but I didn't like that configuration. So one night after work before the appliances were to be delivered, I stopped by the store and asked with one of the sales guys. He showed me that Whirlpool makes the doors now so that you don't have to worry about that. When open, they are flush with the sides of the frig. Don't laugh, but when I saw your question, I immediately went into the kitchen and opened my frig doors to make sure! But...and this is really important, I would still leave a little room so that the motors get enough air circulating and don't overheat. That's what happened to an older refrigerator I had that was enclosed by cabinetry. It overheated and eventually burned a hole in my kitchen floor!

- A: AnswerHello ES! Per the Use and Care Guide: To ensure proper ventilation for your refrigerator, allow for ¹⁄2" (1.25 cm) of space on each side and at the top. Allow for 1" (2.54 cm) of space behind the refrigerator. If your refrigerator has an ice maker, allow extra space at the back for the water line connections. When installing your refrigerator next to a fixed wall, leave 2 ¹⁄2" (6.3 cm) minimum on the hinge side (some models require more) to allow for the door to swing open.

Love my new refrigerator!!
I spent months looking for the perfect refrigerator. I was restricted because of the dimensions of my built in alcove that housed my old refrigerator. Most refrigerators were too big to fit my space but this one fit perfectly. Since it’s counter depth, it does not stick out which I love because it looks custom designed for my kitchen!

Great Fridge!
Perfect fridge for our family! Sleek and not at all bulky, yet spacious on the inside. Love having all of the fresh food at eye-level. Ice maker is fast and keeps up with us; we never run out. We go through a TON of ice so this says a lot. The water dispenser is a little awkward because of its location in the fridge BUT NOT a deal breaker. Very happy and would definitely buy this again.

Love this refrigerator!
I spent months looking for the perfect refrigerator to fit our space. Most French door, bottom freezer refrigerators were just way too deep and wide. This counter depth fridge fits perfectly and looks custom!!
