The best value you'll find! w/ Compromises!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a heck of a computer. I am traditionally a Mac user. Before owning this computer, I had a 2017 MacBook Pro, which I sold and literally paid for this with the money left over; and what a huge upgrade I got! Here's my rundown: PROS: *Gorgeous 90hz OLED display: This display is out of this world in comparison to laptops even double the price. *Quick performance *Loud speakers (not as clear as the MacBook, but far louder!) *Good keyboard and trackpad CONS: * "Creaky" body (try to pick up the laptop in the store to know what I mean!) *Annoying fan noise. It will spool up and down constantly if it is under any sort of load; rather than maintaining a stable frequency. It's annoying to listen to it always go UP and DOWN, UP and DOWN; and that's on the latest firmware. *Battery life is just decent *Wake from sleep issues (frequently I'll wake it from sleep and it'll have to turn itself on completely, instead of being an instant wake like what you'd be used to with a Mac or other PCs. IN SUMMARY: This is a heck of a computer, and you'd be hard pressed to find anything even close for the price you're getting it for; ESPECIALLY if it's on sale. I'd say it easily holds its own against computers double its price, and that is simply awesome.

Best bang for the buck, when on sale.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got it on sale for $550. Best bang for the buck. Will breeze through basic tasks. Of course, 8BG Ram is a bit anemic, but as mentioned, works fine with basic stuff. What's interesting is that I've installed Premier Pro and edited 1080P footage without issue. Exports were about 20% faster than my 9th gen i7 RTX 2060 gaming laptop. The intel i5 12th gen is no slouch. Don't expect 4K footage to run as smoothly though this I did not test. Also installed Pycharm for python programming. Ran fine. I did adjust the swap file settings to help out with possible memory issues. This will likely decrease the lifespan of the SSD, but should be fine if the number of concurrently opened apps is restrained. The SSD is also small at around 256 gigs so an eventual upgrade would be nice anyways. Of course, the Ram is soldered on with no option for an upgrade above 8GB. The OLED screen is the main attraction, and for the price, this 14 incher cannot be beat.

Great Laptop with worst Battery life
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lapotp looks great, slim sleek poweful. So stylish. Screen resolution ultimate, powerful speaker, downside battery is worst it doesnt hold even 2-4 hours of charging, we need to plugin all day, and it generates heat getter more hot on chargign mode. So if you lookig for powerful machine with battery downside you can go with this one.

Good for what it is, but some suggestions.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great laptop with one obvious shortcoming: 8GB of soldered, non-upgradable RAM. Using this otherwise-relatively powerful laptop will always be a slower, more frustrating experience than it otherwise would if they simply offered the option of 16GB for +$100 or even +$150 (for reference, a 16GB of top-shelf DDR5 only costs +$35 to buy at retail over 8GB so massive profits are to be had.) They don't, however, offer such an option. So, looking at it as configured: its' fine. It can do basic tasks easily. The screen is great (once reconfigured), the speakers are good (again, once reconfigured), it's quiet, (again-again once reconfigured) the battery life lasts all day, and Windows 11 is... Windows 11. First, the screen. It's a 90Hz OLED panel with beautiful color accuracy which is configured as a... 60Hz panel with terrible colors out of the box. To change this: hit start, MyAsus, click "Splendid" and set it to 'normal' and Display-P3. It comes in 'vivid' mode. Next scroll down to Refresh mode and set it to 90Hz fixed. The battery life difference is negligible but the visual difference is huge. While you're here you should test the different sound modes to see which works best for you. The default sound profile is extremely muffled and it's hard to even hear. I'd suggest either 'music' or 'Dynamic'. Also here you can consider the Numberpad Lock setting. Turning it on disables the press-to-enable trackpad button. Finally, consider setting the fan profile to whisper mode. This might slightly impact the performance but it makes it dramatically quieter and more pleasant to use. If you're considered *at all* about performance or "GaMiNg" then you're looking at the wrong laptop entirely. This machine has too little RAM and the Intel Xe graphics don't support most games. Now, OLED: should you buy it? If you're looking for the best colors and response times, certainly but you need to know some things: burn-in and image retention is real. You should be cognizant of your usage habits and be prepared to adjust if you want an OLED panel, I've had an HP Spectre X360 13 OLED for several years without any issues but I enable auto-hide task bar and make sure I don't leave one unchanging window up for hours and hours. Also, do not disable the screen saver which will refresh your display when you leave it on but inactive. If you're not willing to make these compromises then I'd strongly suggest an LCD panel instead. The final suggestion is to go to "Customer Support" in the MyAsus app, then "LiveUpdate" and select "Latest". There should be quite a few, simply download and install them in sequence. Note that the update(s) marked UEFI, BIOS, and Firmware will require you to restart your computer and let it sit at a black screen for up to 10 minutes for it to fully complete. Do *NOT* turn your computer off during this. Let it complete and finish itself. So there you have it: an inexpensive laptop with a great screen somewhat ruined by lack of RAM and with some compromises. It's definitely not a must-buy but it is great for my specific use.

Beautiful screen, quick startup, reliable.
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good for the price point. It feels like a high end laptop despite the price. Love the thumbprint reader and the HDR oled screen. I use it to play World of Warcraft every few months and it is perfectly sufficient for that. 60fps at medium quality, with the screen it looks pretty nice. There is some slight jittering with the newer content but nothing you wouldn’t expect with a laptop. It gets warm like you would expect but it is noticeably cooler than previous generations of laptops. I wouldn’t count on it to run a super wide variety of games, but it works for things like age of empires and warcraft and legacy games.

Love this Laptop!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I badly needed a new laptop and did a lot of researching before I bought this one. And I'm glad I did because I definitely made the right choice! First off, let's start with the screen. I can tell a difference with the OLED screen and I love it. But the real deal on this laptop is the speakers. The sound is so clear and crisp, which I'm sure it's because of the Dolby Atmos. It's truly the best sound on any laptop I've used. In the past I've struggled trying to hear the sound but the sound on this laptop is amazing. The laptop is small and lightweight but packs a lot of power. The only issue I've had with this laptop is every once in a blue moon it'll glitch and the bottom taskbar won't show up but it's a simple fix with Ctrl Alt Del and restarting the laptop. I truly love this laptop and I'm glad I picked it. I got it on sale for $500 and it is worth every cent. If you're questing whether to get it or not, GET IT!

Q: Questioni can upgrade memory RAM?
Asked by Juan.
- A:Answer No, the RAM is soldered but you can upgrade storage.
Answered by techgeek
Q: QuestionIf this is the new OLED UX3402 why is storage at 256GB? The minimum on Asus spec sheet shows 512GB SSD storage
Asked by MesaMan.
- A:Answer That is a good point. This may be a mistake that Best Buy made. A few days ago, it said "4K screen" before they changed it to 2.8K. I will also assume that the price will not be $749.99 when it is released
Answered by TechGeek
Q: QuestionThis product seems "to good to be true" to be listed at only $749. Are the specs for this really a 4k OLED screen? Also, what is the exact model number for this laptop?
Asked by TechGeek.
- A:Answer It's 2.8K
Answered by Anonymous
Q: QuestionI saw that someone said this was a 60hz display, is this true? On Asus website they say the ux3402 is 90hz. Also, are the fans on the sides and not pushing hot air up into the screen?
Asked by Jack.
- A:Answer In settings, you can choose between a 60hz and a 90hz display. Out of the box, it is 60hz. Keep in mind that a higher refresh rate will decrease battery life. Asus changed the vents to the left side. Unlike last years model, they are not pushing hot air onto the screen but out to the left.
Answered by TechGeek
Q: QuestionNits?
Asked by bsalita.
- A:Answer It looks like it is a fairly new listing on Best Buy. From the research I have done and the pictures, it looks like it is a UX3402 model. This means that this 2.8K OLED screen has a max brightness of 550 nits.
Answered by techgeek
Q: QuestionIs this really not a touch screen? If this is the UX3402, it should be a touch screen since it says on the asus website.
Asked by Jack.
- A:Answer This model does not have a touchscreen. There are different variants of the same model. Asus will probably release the i7 12th gen with 16gb of RAM later. That model will most likely have the touch screen.
Answered by TechGeek
Q: QuestionHow's the battery life?
Asked by sjjlee.
- A:Answer I have not received this laptop yet, but Asus claims that the 75Wh battery can last up to 18 hours. I recommend watching Youtube reviews for real world performance.
Answered by techgeek
Q: QuestionWhat is included in the box in the US? I bought this laptop, but one of the pockets in the box was empty.
Asked by asusowner.
- A:Answer The laptop and a USB-C charger.
