Q: If I use this monitor with a MacBook, will the USB C port charge it and display video?
A: Unfortunately not - I did a lot of digging to find out if it did and the user manual on the HP website says that it does not charge devices.
A: This is just a monitor and in fact has no RAM or storage capacity whatsoever. You would need to connect it to a computer with its own RAM and storage.
Q: Is it compatible with a MacBook Pro?
A: Yes it is. You will need a special cable to go from the minidisplay port to HDMI.
Q: Is the screen matte or glossy?
A: This display has a matte finish.
A: I found out for myself the circular port on the right is just the slot for the power adapter. There are no speakers or 3.5mm out for the incoming HDMI/DP audio.
Q: Can you mount this on a VESA arm ?
A: It does have a Vesa adapter but due to the design of the slim monitor, the attachment only allows horizontal mounting. Screen cannot be mounted vertically, on its side, as the vesa mount is designed to support it from below with a lip at the bottom and slides into the monitor. The mount is held in with 1 single screw and the downward weight of the monitor.
Q: Is there a 3.5mm audio out jack? I see some sort of circular port on the right
A: It has an analog audio 3.5mm input jack, not output.
