Awesome 1080p display
Posted .Pros mentioned:Gaming, Picture quality, Screen qualityCons mentioned:SpeakersThe monitor is Full HD. Full HD or FHD, for some that are unaware simply means a 1920 x 1080 resolution in a 16:9 display. Full HD does not mean you are getting the highest resolution available at the time of production. Actually anything over 640 x 480 is considered HD (high definition), and there are a few different resolutions and ratios in between, so FHD just means that you are not getting one of the lower HD resolutions. 1920 x 1080 still offers great clarity and a wide range of colors. I am including some photos taken with my phone, of the monitor's screen for some reference. I am very aware that there are a lot of the factors involved in how these pictures will look, based on your current screen's settings and capabilities, over the actual camera on my phone (Galaxy Note8). However, I wanted to provide a small reference point to maybe show how nice the image quality is. The monitor is plug and play, but you can download drivers from LG's website. ( I noticed no difference in features or performance by downloading the drivers.) The FreeSync is a great feature for gamers if you have an AMD graphics card. FreeSync - matches frame rates of compatible AMD graphics card, creating smoother game play and no screen lag. With a refresh rate of 75Hz @ 5milliseconds, screen lag should not be an issue for pretty much any game, or graphics card. All the games I played had great response times, and very smooth, clear images. This monitor also has a contrast ratio of 1000:1, and 250 cd/m² brightness, for a wide color gambit, and increased level of clarity. The viewing angle is actually pretty wide, 178 degrees with the IPS display- (In Plane Switching LCDs offer greater viewing angles over the older matrix LCD monitors, which use to put out restricted viewing angles and degraded colors ) This screen retains it's clarity and colors at pretty much any angle you would want to be viewing at. Like most computer monitors this does not have any internal speakers, but does have a headphones jack in the back of the display. The control buttons have actually been minimized to a small joystick on the bottom center of the screen. At first I thought that was going to be a bit awkward, but actually works very well, and is pretty easy to find. Assembly was extremely easy. The base comes with a built in screw, that can be tightened with a quarter if need be, to the neck of the stand. Which in turn can be placed into the back of the monitor at an angle( which helps hold the monitor and stand together) while you find the 2 screws and a phillips screwdriver. The stand does allow the screen to tilt at various angles. If you don't care for the stand, the monitor does have holes for a wall mount. Overall this monitor delivers a great picture for a 1080p display, the clarity and colors are much better than my older monitor(which was only a couple years old).Everything runs smooth and looks very impressive, especially with the low glare display, I love not having as many reflective distractions on the screen!

An amazing monitor, LG has awesome monitors and TV
Posted .Pros mentioned:Gaming, Picture quality, Screen qualityI'm not biased, but my experience with both TV's and monitors always seems to point to LG as the best images I can find. My home TV is an LG OLED and it is amazing. Same with computer monitors. I've had experience with small to large, and LG wins the shootout with ease. This monitor impressed me from the start, with the fact it included an HDMI cable. And it has a VGA port too. With LG, it is one of the only monitors that still has it, but the best part? It tends to allow full HD through VGA, which is almost unheard of. I've used these LG monitors now for big projects that have CCTV because of this feature alone. As for the picture, it is outstanding. It displays everything perfect from standard web browsing and email, to details of floorpans in AutoCAD, to the smooth flow of games as well. There is an adjustment for reader mode, and I found this went from making my small desktop words looking like pixels, to being really like cohesive lines of text. Amazing. It is an all around decent monitor. I like their on/off, adjustment switch, it is a single joystick type setup vs. the little buttons to go up, down, select. One small thing, could be good or bad depending upon how you look at it, the monitor uses an external power supply. That can be good if the power supply goes bad, you can put in a new one easily vs. if it was internal. The internal ones are easier to plug in but can be a throw away if it goes bad even though the monitor is fine. So, looking for a great monitor, with excellent view angles, decent height and sturdy stand, etc. give this a try. You won't be disappointed and given my experience with so many monitors, for so many computers and video recorders, I can tell you these last way longer than others out there - I have had LG monitors that last so long, they get replaced because the IT folks think they must be worn out after 3 years.

Good enough for regular gamers
|Posted .Features
Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use4 out of 5Pros mentioned:Gaming, Screen qualityCons mentioned:Adjustable, InstructionsPros: -Good colors, not unrealistically over-saturated or washed-out and presets seem to hit the right spots; Love the reader mode preset for night browsing -Games achieve up to 80-85 fps for upper'ish mid-range gaming pc's -Non-glossy, smudge resistant screen; bezels don't bother me like they do other reviewers -Intuitive one button/switch control -Responsive and fast boot-up -Comes with HDMI cable Cons: -Wobbles; you have to get creative to prevent it i.e. taping or tying the base down -The neck is brittle! Cracks started to appear when I tightened the screw under the base! Hopefully it doesn't get worse. Oh and the adjustment hinge feels like it's gonna come loose in the future that may leave the screen looking like it's hanging its head down in shame -Monitor is slanted at it's supposed normal upright level -Came with a cd "manual" but it's useless as there's no actual manual in it just a bunch of pdf regulatory stuff! The settings are confusing and you don't know what you're adjusting outside of the presets -Says go to LG website for manuals but as you can see in the attached pictures here, the model number is non-existent in their manual database! -Annoyingly bulky power brick Would I recommened? Probably yes when the priced drops again. Glad I got this on sale. Will do the job for now. Otherwise, look for similarly spec'd monitors at the price level and range.

Great Monitor - Great Price
Posted .Pros mentioned:Picture quality, Price, Screen qualityThough the MSRP is $200 you can get this well-appointed 24” monitor for $120 at Best Buy. It is an excellent buy for the money. When I received the monitor and got it up and running, was surprised at the quality, features, specs and innovation in a 24” IPS monitor selling at this price point. Recall not that far in the past IPS screens were easily going for $300+. First, the screen/picture is gorgeous, strong black background and colors pop brilliantly. The monitor is in my office where I receive lots of morning and afternoon sunlight and does not reflect glare and in the evening when lighting is lower there is no washout. Ran the Unigine Heaven Benchmark set at Ultra with excellent results, strong FPS between 80 and 100+ producing stunning graphics. When switching from native mode to FreeSync there was a noticeable smoothing of graphics, impressive. Good stuff: - 75Hz Refresh - 5ms Response Time - Radeon FreeSync - IPS LED - Joystick style controller under center of monitor for managing settings – Best I’ve used - OnScreen Control software – Manage screen splitting, Monitor Settings, Application Presets, Game Modes on the fly – very nice - User Manual on CD or downloadable – as well as additional on-line documentation - Two HDMI ports - Nicely designed monitor stand looks good and functional. Does not take all the space under the monitor Would have liked to have seen a DisplayPort on-board as GPU’s now come with typically three DisplayPort’s, one HDMI and one DVI. Bottom-line, the LG monitor is a real winner with excellent output and spec’d well beyond what I would have expected for the price. If you are looking for well spec’d monitor take a good look at this LG!

Quality4 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Pros mentioned:Picture quality, Screen qualityCons mentioned:StandI have a 15 inch Apple MacBook Pro that I connected to this monitor. The screen is a plug and go model with 2 hdmi ports. It’s clear and the color, brightness settings can be changed easily on the monitor. I have had it for 6 weeks and my only issue is that the stand is a little wobbly. I plan to mount it on the wall, since it has the 4 screws on the back for a bracket mount. Now and then the screen flickers but it transitions very well from the laptop to the monitor. The HDMI also allows you to use your PC as a 2nd screen, with up to 4 windows open side by side. I am so glad I bought this screen on sale and right before the Covid-19 stay home order. It has saved my eyes working at home now!

Q: QuestionDescription says it’s compatible with Windows. Is it Mac compatible ? Can’t see why it wouldn’t be. But since they don’t specify it, I would rather confirm it is before ordering
Asked by Captngeetch.
- A:Answer Yes it will work with a Mac. If you have an older Mac with an hdmi output, you won’t need anything. If your Mac only has usb-c outputs, you would need the matching dongle

Q: QuestionIs a HDMI cable included with the 24 inch 24ML44B-B model? Is it rated for 75 hz ? Final question, one review claimed screen is back lit only from the right side, is this true? Thanks in advance!
Asked by AHJ.
- A:Answer The monitor I received came with a six foot HDMI cable. Despite the all the claims you see for expensive cables, all HDMI cables of the same length perform exactly the same. Buying a more expensive cable will buy you no better performance. All HDMI cables are built to the exact same specifications. There is no such thing as a cable rated for 60 Hz vs. one rated for 75 Hz. I do not know if the display is only lit from one side. I can see no difference in brightness across the screen.
