A:AnswerAs long as you are connected to your phone via Bluetooth or wifi, it alerts you. I have forgotten my phone at home before and still get messages at work because it is connected to a trusted wifi. It's quite helpful.
A:AnswerIf you get without cellular there is no additional charge on your data service. If you get it with cellular, there is a $10 per month additional charge to use the watch when you don't have your phone with you. If you want to be able to make calls etc without having your phone on you, you can get the cellular model and pay the data fee. If you always have your phone on you anyway you can get the non-cellular version and you won't have to pay anything per month, the watch will just connect to your phone.
A:AnswerYes. It uses bluetooth to audio the call through your Apple Watch. A feature not mentioned so it surprised me when I answered a call through the watch. Felt like Dick Tracy talking through my watch lol. This goes for txt message also. It has pre-made replies, but the swipe writing feature works pretty smoothly also, but it easier to reply via the phone. To all of it, yes the phone needs to be in range.
A:AnswerYes if you download optional sleep apps. I use Pillow. It's free but has a premium version that also records you during sleep to detect snoring or apnea.
A:AnswerBestbuy has just started a trade-in program for Series 1 and series 2 apple watches toward the purcahse of a new series 3 watch. Old watch has to be functional, with no cracks on the face, in good condition, fully charged. Trade in is valued up to $70 toward a series 3. Trade-ins are done in-store only. It does say on the ad that not every store does the trade-ins. You get a $50 gift card, then a receipt with an additional $20 code printed on it. The receipt is scanned when buying a new watch.
A:AnswerYou can respond on wifi or data. It always has to be connected via Bluetooth to respond on calls or texts. On the newest I watched you have to pay for the cell capability but it's optional. I would recommend you save money and go without it
A:AnswerMy wife has a series 2 and I have a series 3 without the LTE option. While the series 3 and 2 battery is the same capacity. the series 3 watch has new more power efficient S3 and W2 chips. Those chips were put in all series 3 watches to allow the series 3 watch to handle the cellular connectivity without a reduction in battery life compared to the series 2. Now the bonus is that the series 3 watch model with GPS only, now has the advantage since without the cellular radio, it is now using less power than the series 3 with LTE and also the series 2 watch. In our case she requires a daily charge while my series 3 only needs a charge once every other day.
That along with a faster dual core processor was my reasoning for waiting to buy the 3 over the 2.
A:AnswerNo, this one would be reliant on your phone. The Cellular version you would be able to use without your phone present, but my thought on purchasing the one without cellular is, why would I pay more money for a device where I would benefit by not having my phone. My phone is always in my pocket or near me anyways. Having to pay $10 a month for a device plan isn’t worth not having my phone near me.
A:AnswerI purchased it for my daughter and she is able to answer phone calls and receives text message. Yes, it is GPS only. Which is good, because you don't have a monthly bill.
A:AnswerNot really, unless you have your phone near by. GPS(Global Positioning System) means that it only has a GPS receiver and no cellular coverage. It will pair with your iPhone so that you can call and text on the watch through your iPhone.
The GPS feature works with map apps so you don't have to have your iPhone with you but you can take hikes and have a GPS receiver on your wrist.
