- Answer Hello BatteryDrain, when the unit is disconnected from utility power it needs to run an inverter converting the DC electricity coming off the battery and convert it to AC so the power can be used by regular household devices. That noise you are hearing is the AC/DC inverter operating and is perfectly normal.

- Answer No. I don't believe so. It's NOT a Step Down Transformer. It's a Battery BackUp that you Connect your PC's, Laptops, TV's, DVR's, etc to. It will stop any Power Line Surges and Protect your Equipment and if there is a Power Outage, it well Provide Power to your Equipment for a Short Time or for at least Long Enough for you to Save your Files and Shut Down. - Answer Thank you for your question! The CyberPower 1000VA Battery Back-Up System is not recommended for use with a fireplace, as it is not covered under our warranty. Fireplaces should be plugged into their own dedicated outlet, as they often draw more power than a typical surge protector or UPS can supply.

QuestionMy power shut off and I didn’t know how to mute the beep so I turned off the unit so it wouldn’t wake up my family and now it won’t turn on at all, it makes a long beep with 2 short beeps. It was fully charged and working before.

- Answer It filters the electricity to prevent surges (dangerous spicke in electricty). It contains a battery that will provide power for a limited amount of time should your electricity go out.

- Answer Hello, the Mode button on the UPS is meant to mute the unit and scroll through the display options. If this UPS has an LCD display you can see the different input and output voltage along with the estimated battery health. The default settings are recommended for this UPS.
